When we started the comic we were really keen on celebrating Billy’s Jewish roots—a Hanukkah comic was a MUST.
At first we thought about telling the story of Teddy’s first celebration with the Kaplans but the idea of Tommy as the outsider struck like lightning and we couldn’t let him go.
For context: this takes place in the pocket of time after Children’s Crusade when Billy [spoilers] gives up superhero life for awhile.
Look, I saw a tweet about Teddy in a crop top and it’s been living rent-free in my head for a good week. Also you can blame my wife for the galaxy print short shorts that Billy’s wearing, I love her and she’s a terrible influence

So that’s nice! * The Hood is the main adversary *I think the most important part of the YA is the team: the people on it and how they connect with each other. And these people like each other! They’re a team because they choose to be a team, not because they have to. I’m interested in exploring their relationships and having a good time hanging out with these people. Being a superhero is amazing (everyone should try it) – so I’m trying to make this a fun and amazing story.
