this may be something ill expand upon later but the avatar state is more than just the ultimate form of power.
because aang is afraid of his power, and the avatar state is often a manifestation of his anger, mastering the avatar state means mastering the fear and anger that lead to/come with it.
the problem is that Aang doesn’t master the avatar state by the end of the series. he doesn’t let go of katara, a rock unblocks his chakra for him (or something?? still not sure where they were going with that). Even in the comics (i hate using those as canon but they’re the only post-canon i have) aang doesn’t have control over the avatar state. this means that he doesn’t have control over his negative emotions either.
mastering the avatar state didn’t mean losing katara; it meant gaining control over himself and his emotions so he’s never afraid of his power again.
One of the funniest things ever is when people are like “Katara needs Aang to calm her down!! Zuko can’t give her that!!!!”

And Aang basically completely fails to make her calm down? Like when she was angry at Toph he only made her angrier, when she’s angry during TSR he only makes her angrier. It’s almost like nothing can calm Katara (except maybe justice) down bc she is actually in charge of her own emotions or something. And Aang is actually the one who needs other people to calm him down (which makes sense; he is, after all, 12).

So the reason it’s gonna be late is because I just found out that over all of the alternate universes, Clark has 54CHILDREN IN TOTAL! so um I was just wondering if you guys wanted all 54 kids included in the tree?? dhfghdjfghsjk it’s 54!! EVEN IF YOU GUYS DIDN’T WANT ALL 54 HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE WHICH KIDS TO INCLUDE AND WHICH TO ELIMINATE??
listen, listen, I know I’ve been inactive for awhile now, but I am coming from the grave to proclaim this: if I ever meet Ryan Murphy, I am demanding that he pays for my therapy bills after he’s put me through so much hell with these two shows.
