The good: Made it back to the pool after almost 3 years of not #swimming due to C19 shutdowns and #shoulder issues complete w/ 2 cortisone shots last year. Only 500m today but it’s double what I thought I could do when I got in the water today. I definitely need a bigger @speedousa backpack and some new goggles. I also had to throw away a bunch of my old swim caps (both Speedo & TYR) because they were old and ripping. Swimsuit felt tight when I put it on but felt normal in the water. #TeamSpeedo . . The bad: freestyle and backstroke are out. I was always best at #breaststroke even at the height of all my #swim lessons and practices but the up and over motion pulls too much. I had a bad backstroke start attempt off the blocks and lost my goggles for a few minutes. I eventually dove down and saw them - used my foot to retrieve them. . . The ugly: hip hurts like a mofo. Bursitis is getting worse since I curl more now. Will need to tell my MSK specialist next week during my appt. What’s worse, I fell down the walkway and rolled my ankle. Icing my ankle in bed now while watching the GSOC QF since I have Saturday night league in a few hours. . . Nothing feels as good and as bad at the same time as swimming. I’m gonna be hella sore tomorrow #saturday #weekend
