Again they clashed, blade meeting blade with neither giving way. Valoq grinned broadly over the crossed steel, meeting Gan’s narrowed eyes. “You fight like my grandmother,” Valoq taunted in Xaelic, trying to goad his best friend into making a mistake.

Gan grunted and shoved, breaking the contact between them and feinting another strike even as he backed up a step. “Your grandmother was fierce,” he pointed out with a short bark of a laugh. “And a better fighter than you. She didn’t make stupid mistakes.” He lunged forward, catching Valoq’s blade once more.

Valoq expected the move and braced himself for it, the contact pulling a grunt of exertion from him. But Gan wasn’t done. He pivoted and pulled his sword free only to follow up with a sheltering shield bash that occupied Valoq’s blade and gave Gan the opportunity to graze the point of his weapon across Valoq’s belly.

There was the unmistakable muted clang and scrape of metal hitting and sliding over sand - twice. Only the second was the hilt of Valoq’s sword falling free of his hand as he moved to cover the thin line of blood that welled quickly to the surface of his midnight-hued skin. The first noise was the top half of his blade falling to the ground separately.

As Gan drew back, triumphant, Valoq looked down to his bisected and now-useless weapon. He spat into the sand and kicked the hilt toward the incoming tide. “You win,” he admitted grudgingly. “I yield.”

“A good fight,” Gan replied cheerfully, sheathing his own sword before slinging an arm around Valoq’s shoulders. He pressed his hand to Valoq’s stomach, the green of healing magic illuminating both of them with its pale glow even under the light of the full moon. “Tomorrow we’ll have to get you a new sword. Tonight, though… well, I won. That means you owe me.”

Valoq groaned and batted his friend’s hand away, but there was a grudging playfulness in the gesture. “Fine, fine. Just know I’ll get you back for it next time.”

Dealing with Rhai'li could be difficult even at the best of times. Trying to convince him to try something out of his comfort zone was no the best of times.

“I promise you, it’s better than you think,” Toshiya tried.

Rhai'li looked up at him with big, sad eyes. “But it’s green.”

“Yes, but that doesn’t make it bad. It’s been blanched and seasoned and it really isn’t as bad as you keep saying it will be.”

“Or maybe he’ll keel over and die on the spot,” Kuroji said from the doorway to the kitchen and dining area.

Toshiya rubbed a hand over his eyes. “You’re not helping.”

“Well, either he doesn’t eat it and therefore doesn’t get dessert - in that case, more for me,” the big Xaela explained. “Or he does eat it and dies on the spot - in that case, more for me.” Kuroji smirked. “It’s a win-win.”

Toshiya full-on facepalmed while Rhai'li whined and dramatically fell backward onto the tatami. When one thought of there being a toddler in the house, they didn’t think it would be an easily-antagonized teenage miqo'te.

A/N: Since the relationship dynamic wasn’t specified, I just decided things on my own uwu

There used to be times when (Y/N) had told himself that dating, and relationships in general were not a necessity to his day-to-day life. He even used to think that he was happy enough with having a couple of close friends to talk with, and spend time with. Thinking about it now, this reminded (Y/N) of some kind of a mantra that was supposed to brainwash him into a make-believe comfort. Yet it wasn’t comfort, and he was lonely all those times he used to tell himself he was not. However, now, it was different. Or at least, (Y/N) would like to think so. Compared to those dark, cold nights when all he had for company was his own self, now he had somebody to talk to, somebody closer than a friend, closer than family.

Dating Wang YiBo was… It felt like a dream, really. Not something akin to real life, but more magical. Though saying that out loud would cover (Y/N)’s skin in uncomfortable goosebumps. In (Y/N)’s eyes, Wang YiBo was everything he was not, although maybe, he was just exaggerating due to his overwhelming feelings of love. After all, this was (Y/N)’s first-love. Not a crush, not somebody he would like to have a flirty relationship with, but the Wang YiBo who made him comfortable to speak of his emotions, who made him comfortable even when in silence. A single smile would make (Y/N) smile as well. That was the relationship with Wang YiBo. It was serious.

That’s what (Y/N) thought for the first couple of months of dating, anyway. Everything was as if through some rose-tinted glasses. The bashful smiles, cute pecks and kisses, hand holding while on dates. Everything was so magical and precious, there seemed to be nothing with enough force to pull them apart. However, something did change. Recently, there seemed to be some kind of distance between them. YiBo seemed to be more lost in thought, and they didn’t see each other as often, either. Although at first, it didn’t bother him as much, (Y/N) knew that couples needed some distance between each other, and it was normal to not spend each hour of the day glued together- after all, they would become restless of the constant presence. However, it’s been over a week now that they haven’t seen each other, only messaging and calling. (Y/N) knew, of course, that a week is no long time at all, but he was nervous all the same. Although (Y/N) didn’t want to doubt YiBo’s feelings, and he liked to believe that YiBo was as genuine in his love as (Y/N) was, the seedling of doubt was growing the more time they didn’t see each other. The doubt grew even stronger when (Y/N) was out with a friend, complaining and whining about how much he missed his boyfriend, when he noticed, in the cafe’s window, YiBo sitting with another man. They seemed to be chatting, and upon getting closer to the cafe, in order to see the two better, (Y/N) noticed how flushed YiBo was, his fingers tapping a rhythm on the table. There was a shy smile on YiBo’s face. (Y/N) recognised those little things, as those were the tell-tale signs that made (Y/N) notice YiBo’s affection toward himself in the first place.

So that was why YiBo had no time to meet up with (Y/N). It was not because of work that YiBo told him of, but because of the man sitting in front of YiBo, a cool expression on the man’s face as he listened attentively to whatever YiBo was babbling about. Once again, (Y/N) did not want to doubt YiBo, but he felt hurt. Maybe YiBo and the mysterious man were actually friends, and (Y/N) was once again exaggerating the situation that he saw unfold in front of himself, but the fact that YiBo specifically told (Y/N) that he was working today, meanwhile he was out and about with somebody, visiting cafes… Something did not sit well in him. (Y/N) realised quickly that the ugly feeling curling inside of his gut was none other than jealousy. It only grew more fierce when the mysterious man had patted YiBo’s hand, as if in reassurance of his bashfulness.

“Hey, man, is everything okay? You’ve been staring at that window for an awfully long time,” his friend spoke, a light concern in his voice.

“It’s YiBo. In the cafe, I mean. I’m going to talk to him, so… I’ll see you another time?” Surprisingly, although more than a little jealous, (Y/N) managed to keep his cool while talking with his friend. (Y/N) didn’t want to worry him while he didn’t know if the worry was fully warranted.

With the wave of his hand to his friend, he entered the cafe and turned straight toward the table he knew his boyfriend was occupying. “Good afternoon,” he spoke, his voice curt and cold, albeit he wished he didn’t sound as cold.

“(Y/N)!” The surprise in YiBo’s voice made (Y/N) take a step back. It felt almost as if (Y/N) had caught YiBo in something that he did not want to be caught in. Like he was doing something wrong. The feeling of jealousy only lashed out more at the surprise, and (Y/N) felt his eyebrows twitch in annoyance.

He turned to face the mysterious man, and that was another slap to his face. Unfazed. The man was unfazed, if not just a little amused. “I have to talk to YiBo, so if you would excuse us?”

The man, surprisingly, had a deep voice, carrying a note of unparalleled amusement, just as (Y/N) had initially thought he noticed in the man’s face, “Go on ahead. I think we are finished with our conversation, anyway. Am I right, YiBo?” The man sent a little wink in YiBo’s direction, at which he blushed all too profusely, and the outrage (Y/N) felt was…

Grabbing YiBo’s hand, he started walking out of the cafe, glad to finally get away from the still unknown man’s presence and gaze. “Who was he?” He asked, pretending to not care as much as he actually did.

YiBo was quiet for a while, as if not knowing how to answer. “A friend… or more like an acquaintance.”

“An acquaintance who winks at you and makes you all embarrassed?” The jealousy has finally slipped out, making itself obvious with the tighter grip on YiBo’s hand and the fire in (Y/N)’s voice. “You sure didn’t seem like just acquaintances or just friends to me.”

“What are you implying? That I’m cheating on you?” YiBo’s voice was baffled at such a presumption, however, that was the exact thought (Y/N) had.

“I didn’t want to think this at first,” he had admitted, eyes downcast and strides large, “but since you kept refusing to meet up with me, and even told me you were working while meeting up with that man…” (Y/N) sighed in defeat, too emotionally exhausted to continue.

They were nearly in (Y/N)’s apartment when YiBo spoke out, his voice small, “I met up with him because he has more experience with this…”

(Y/N)’s whole body froze up in shock. “What?”

“We met through mutual friends. I found out he was gay. So I asked him a couple of questions… since I’ve never dated a man before you… or ever been with a man, either,” there it was, the familiar bashfulness, and the red cheeks, and the sweaty hand, gripping (Y/N)’s in return. The jealousy that was lashing out in (Y/N)’s gut before had quickly froze up. “It turned out that he had so much more experience than me, so I asked him this and that, so I wouldn’t disappoint you. I tried watching gay porn, too, but that was… Not as… Not the same.”

There was fragile silence between the men. (Y/N) had stopped gripping YiBo’s hand, and instead, his hand was resting on YiBo’s face, gently caressing his cheek. “So I was jealous for nothing, after all,” (Y/N) sighed, smiling through his troubled feelings. He hoped he hadn’t hurt YiBo too much with his distrust. “You two seemed so cozy in that cafe I just… assumed the worst.”

“It’s my fault, really,” YiBo interjected, flustered at being put on the spot. “I should’ve told you, but it made me so embarrassed I just couldn’t do it. I wanted to look cool in front of you, too.”

(Y/N) smiled, resting his forehead on YiBo’s. Their eyes met, then, and unexpectedly, YiBo leaned in, catching (Y/N)’s lips in a kiss. Heat suddenly blanketed (Y/N)’s mind, and he closed his eyes, cradling YiBo’s face with one hand, the other snaking down and toward YiBo’s ass. There was a sudden tension in the air, a change in the atmosphere, and a very significant change in YiBo’s temperament. The usually timid man was now quick with his hands, sneaking to unbutton (Y/N)’s shirt and pushing it down. The kiss turned from bashful into blinded by passion. (Y/N) was stunned for a quick second, but then the hand that was cradling YiBo’s face moved to join the one resting on his ass, and YiBo was lifted up, the yelp that escaped his lips was enough to make (Y/N)’s dick twitch. “That was hot,” (Y/N) whispered into YiBo’s ear, before moving down to his neck, licking and biting at the tender flesh, making YiBo moan.

It wasn’t long before (Y/N) reached the bedroom, and tossed YiBo onto the bed with not much consideration. “So, show me what that little friend of yours taught you, won’t you,” he smirked in the man’s direction and watched with growing anticipation as YiBo unzipped his pants and quickly got rid of them.

YiBo was slender, his body lithe, and his boxers pressed tightly against his pale hips, restricting his dick to the point where it seemed to severely bother YiBo, making him uncomfortable. The sight was so lewd, particularly paired with YiBo’s crimson cheeks and disoriented gaze, that (Y/N) barely had the patience to contain himself.

The hands that were caressing (Y/N)’s body so desperately just moments before were now drifting up and toward his face, his fingers prodding his lips, slipping inside. (Y/N) could see YiBo’s tongue rolling between those fingers, covering them with saliva before popping out and drifting toward YiBo’s boxers. “Since there’s no lube, you can use saliva instead,” YiBo spoke, his gaze still disoriented but voice honest and quiet. He shoved his hand inside the boxers and soon after (Y/N) heard one of YiBo’s yelps, and then a lewd moan. Unable to contain his excitement, (Y/N) pushed his pants down and stepped out of them, kicking them as far away as possible. He leaned over YiBo’s body, locking their lips together, and entwining their tongues. At the same time, (Y/N) caught YiBo’s hand and took it out of his boxers. For a second, the kiss was broken, and in that time, (Y/N) had undressed YiBo completely, leaving the man naked and embarrassed underneath (Y/N). Licking his fingers, (Y/N) replaced YiBo’s slender hands with his own, and slowly, he entered two of his fingers into YiBo’s asshole, pumping them just as slowly, all the while kissing YiBo everywhere where the mouth could reach. In return, YiBo moaned, the sounds soft and absent-minded, getting louder the faster (Y/N) pumped his fingers.

It was a short while after that a third finger was added and YiBo’s voice hitched and his back arched, gripping (Y/N)’s shoulders tightly. In response, (Y/N) moved slightly lower, gripping YiBo’s hip for support, and pumped his fingers faster, while nibbling YiBo’s nipple with his teeth. The soft mewls that escaped YiBo’s mouth were heavenly, and (Y/N) regretted the fact that he had not taken his boxers off yet. They were pressing all too uncomfortably. In his annoyance, (Y/N) spread his fingers, fingering YiBo’s ass erratically, bending them to caress the walls that were twitching all too welcoming. With a harder bite to one of YiBo’s nipple and a harder shove up his ass, YiBo cried out, his back arching once again. YiBo cummed, coating the bottom of his own stomach with cum.

YiBo’s hands grabbed (Y/N)’s face and brought it up to his own, smushing their faces together in what was supposed to be a kiss, but ended up all teeth and skin. “I’m going to put it in now, okay?” (Y/N) spoke softly into YiBo’s neck, to which the man nodded frantically, grabbing (Y/N)’s shoulders for some kind of anchor to stay grounded.

With not much any sort of further warning, (Y/N) aligned himself with YiBo’s asshole and pushed in, stopping only when the full length of him was inside. “It hurts…” cried YiBo, and with no other way to help relieve YiBo’s pain, (Y/N) kissed YiBo, gently this time, hoping to take the man’s pain off of his mind. They stayed like that for a while, kissing and biting, (Y/N)’s fingers playing with YiBo’s nipples once again. And then YiBo arched his hips, unconsciously asking for some more, more friction, more pleasure, and so (Y/N) complied, moving his hips in a lousy rhythm.

What started as gentle and slow thrusting soon became fast, erratic, and desperate for release. Instead of playing with YiBo’s nipples, (Y/N)’s hands drifted downward, gripping YiBo’s dick and stroking it up and down, to which YiBo moaned louder, tears coating his eyes, “I’m going to cum!”

Not able to comprehend much of a cohesive sentence, (Y/N) could only nod his head in extreme concentration. His hips were now slapping against YiBo’s, with as much force as (Y/N) possessed, in extreme desperation for the sweet, sweet release. He could feel YiBo clenching around his length and soon enough, YiBo came and along his release, his walls clamped around (Y/N)’s dick, milking him empty as (Y/N) buried himself deep in YiBo.

Looking at each other, they couldn’t find much to say, and all that filled the space was heavy breathing and fiery gazes.

I just finished the mitchells vs the machines and i have no friends to rant about it to so im making a tumblr post!!!

disclaimer: this is just MY opinion and if you liked the movie that’s great! keep scrolling

disclaimer 2: this will have spoilers about the movie

got all that? still here? oK LET’S GO

okay so things that I liked:

  • the animation style was incredible
  • the humor was great (most of the time)
  • i would die for those two robots
  • the mum is amazing
  • and yea…

the plot of the movie in general was fine too but what got me MAD was the father/daughter plot

lets make something clear: in the beginning of the movie katie TRIES to show things to her dad, and we see her easily bonding with her brother over his special interests, meaning if the dad tried to share stuff about carving and crafting with her too it woud probably work out. katie has always made an effort to connect

BUT NO, the dad is super annoying, acts like a boomer with the hating phones thing and in the end of the day simply doesn’t care about katie’s movies, he only cares about the time before she had a personality and loved everything he did. shes what 17 now? and he keeps bringing up stuff from when she was a baby

then we see katie’s dream being to leave and to create an independent life for herself, and for some reason its framed as a bad thing???

OH and when she lies and says what her dad wants to hear and its played like an awful decision. you know, many kids like me have to do that to survive in their family, please their parents to avoid arguments and fights

also why is the movie obssessed in forcing her to feel things that she doesnt feel? her father never cared about her interests, he literally watches one of ther videos for the first time in the last 15 minutes of the movie, why should she force herself to feel those things when her dad only started caring once she was leaving?

and his ““effort”“ is so painfully average. he isnt even bothered to know what she likes or wants to do, just shoves his own nostalgia on her and then gets upset when she doesnt like it

fucking get to know your daughter maybe?? and dont try to bond with her just because shes moving out and you feel guilty????

(im so mad omg dkjfhdjfgjkfg)

no but the worst part of this movie is the message, oh boy

they keep talking about katie finding her people, only for it to turn out she just had to realize her people was her family all along!!!

that is such an awful message to kids!!!! “your people are your family! if you dont fit in with them then theres something wrong with you” and “if youre upset with your parents dont be because family is the only thing worth fighting for” which she says in the speech to the villain

WHAT THE FUCK??

god and that scene where katie is supposed to feel guilty cause the dad sold the house and its suggested it was to provide for her. well, movie, thats not katies fault! stop guilt tripping her cause thats what asshole parents do to you when they feel you arent giving them attention

*takes deep breath*

honestly Im usually all for rooting against disney movies at the oscars, I really really am. and i decided to watch this movie exactly because i saw so many people say it deserved the oscar more than encanto

and i honestly went into it really hoping to enjoy it, but almost every scene with katie and the father began to hurt something inside me….I think if i watched this movie as a kid i would have thought the state of my relationship with my father was my fault, and i had to “give him the benefit of the doubt” and accept his half assed attempts to connect with me

and honestly, as much as disney makes me angry, their movie about a latino family coming together, apologizing and healing from trauma is much more beautiful and important than whatever this trainwreck tried to talk about

UNRELATED but i also heard so much about the lgbtq rep in this movie and I was so looking forward to it and it ended up being 1 (one) rainbow pin and 1 (one) line said super fast at the end…. I was really disappointed tbh but thats the internet’s fault not the movie’s i guess

i think im done now, if you reached the end WOW im honestly impressed heres a gold star ⭐
