Besides cooking, Catnip also enjoys watching videos on her crystal ball. You can choose to watch ads with her once per day to temporarily cook more efficiently. Recipes will take less time to complete and have a higher rate of success and random drops.

Basic UI for buying coins. I still have to do some math to figure out the prices, so these are only estimates. You will be able to earn coins in-game by successfully baking recipes as well as through random drops!

The stats page will tell you a little more about the main character, Catnip, and also your progress in the game. Stats will include things like how many total pastries you’ve baked and how many recipes you’ve unlocked.

Don’t worry, this is just another developer drawing. I’ve been playing around with the main character’s profile. Catnip is the 200 year old witch who runs the Pastel Patisserie. She loves cute girls and she’s as wise as she is spacey.

Pastel Patisserie developer here with more proof that I cannot draw! Thankfully our artists will do a better job than I can.
Within Pastel Patisserie you will cultivate your cookbook where you can review all of the recipes you’ve unlocked in the game. Each page in the recipe book will feature a picture of the food, the flavor text, and the ingredients needed to make it in-game. On the top-left of the image, the stars will indicate whether it is a tier 1, 2, or 3 recipe, and in the top-right of the image, you will see the number of times you have successfully baked it, along with how many times you have tried. In addition to these in-game stats, each entry will also feature a real-life recipe, DIY instructions on how to decorate it, or tips on how to eat it.

Here’s another little UI sketch. On this screen you can select ingredients to cook together. You will only be allowed to pick ingredients that have the possibility of making something; after selecting your first ingredient, all unmixable items will be grayed out and unselectable. Once you’ve selected two ingredients the main character Catnip will comment on your recipe choice and give you the option to select the two ingredients or cancel and go back to the kitchen screen.

A wonderful in browser simulation game that lets you create a virtual underwater ecosystem where different species of creature can live, grow and die as part of a self-contained food chain.
I wrote recently about ‘Wind-Up worlds’. Orb.farm feels like one.
But it seems to me that it would benefit from the addition of a ‘slow-social’ experience.
What does an orb game look like when its been tended and looked after by a group of people over ‘years’?
What does a group/collective idle bonsai tree game look like? one thats had 1000′s of collective hours of attention given to it?
What would a game like this feel like to play?
