This also handles save/load data. It feels good to have it finally working :)
So our first unit this year is focused mainly on in-game economies and “return” loops, keeping players in the game, and making them want to come back!
We were tasked with pitching an idea, throwing together a quick GDD, and then if we felt up to- making a basic prototype. I had an idea, and started on a prototype for something that I thought would have been very achievable. I was wrong.
I spent way longer than I thought I would writing, testing, raging, and re-writing code. I took a break, and came back to it, and from scratch I tried putting together the lowest forms of what I’d need in my prototype; this is where it is now.
I’ve learnt so much about script communication, OOP, Unity, and even Visual Studio! It’s been a blast so far, and I’m really proud of the functionality that’s working (smoothly!) and will be using this as a basis for my intended Economy prototype.

Hello everyone! After thinking it over, I’ve decided to add iOS support to my budget and to-do list!
I was initially planning on avoiding the apple store thanks to the $99 developer fee that they charge, but since I have decided to kickstart this game, I figured, why not shoot for the moon? So, I’ll be adding this into my budget and hoping that my game can reach an even larger audience!
Besides cooking, Catnip also enjoys watching videos on her crystal ball. You can choose to watch ads with her once per day to temporarily cook more efficiently. Recipes will take less time to complete and have a higher rate of success and random drops.

Basic UI for buying coins. I still have to do some math to figure out the prices, so these are only estimates. You will be able to earn coins in-game by successfully baking recipes as well as through random drops!

The stats page will tell you a little more about the main character, Catnip, and also your progress in the game. Stats will include things like how many total pastries you’ve baked and how many recipes you’ve unlocked.

Mobile Game Ads are filthy liars
@CrymsonPleasure just can’t believe that some mobile game ads are so bad!
If anyone knows me, they know I love mobile games. I’ve been playing one in particular for the last 2 or 3 years and rarely miss a day. Mobile games have a lot to offer. Gaming on the go, stimulation, relief from boredom, and fun! The amount of games I have on my phone varies. I will download, try, and delete games often. Games I’ve Played And Loved
Ok so I decided to make a masterpost of the games I liked the most out of all the mobile games I’ve played in the last few years. All of these are available on Android, I don’t know about iOS though.
These are mostly puzzle/adventure games, some are platformers. There are a couple of other genres as well. I’ll rate each of them based on several criteria such as controls, plot, playability, and (in some cases, because this is by no means a criterion I usually select my games based on) graphics.
I hope you like these games as much as I have, and lmk what you think!
