I couldn’t do a proper Inu Yasha rewatch without drawing my original anime crush Lord Sesshomaru. Why mess around with the younger brother when you can stick with the cooler, moodier older one? Rin & Jaken had it figured out!
The concept of Sesshomaru’s Tenseiga, a sword that banished the spirits of death, was always so much more interesting to me than Inu Yasha’s Tessaiga. Paired with Sesshomaru’s interesting character arc, I was always happy to see more of his story developing in the show & the manga.

I’ve been rewatching Inu Yasha and had to draw some of my favorite characters. I used to sneak out of bed at 4 in the morning to watch Inu Yasha on Adult Swim, lol, and I am pretty sure that I was never really that sneaky.

Work in progress for my Druid Firblog Cybele DnD character card. I chose to stay home and draw for my birthday today, and I think it was an awesome birthday decision, lol. I got to get out the paint and markers and listen to music, and spend time with my family. It was awesome. I’ve been fiddling around with this one forever, I just can’t really decide what to do with it.

My personal #topnine for 2020. Technically one of these images is a sneak peek, because it’s in progress right now, but I included it because 2020 was the year that I could finally draw Rook’s face without having to arm wrestle it out of the canvas
I always love to do this because it gives me a chance to look back at the work I’ve done through the year and see all the improvements I’ve made. 2020 has been a journey, to say the least. Coupled with the global pandemic which brought immense emotional and mental stresses and changes at my job as a frontline caregiver, and all the political unrest and outrage, this year has also been one of the most transformative for me personally as well. As I’ve looked back at all the things we have gone through as a people, and for me personally, something that I have realized is how the combination of all this really crazy stuff helped me remember what really matters, and that I needed to refocus my attention away from things that really had no value in the long run. 2020 in the end has been a really important year in my life, I feel like I have grown so much, spiritually, emotionally, and artistically, and I think that based on some of the other posts I’ve read, I am not the only person who feels this way. 2020 was rollercoaster of chaos, but I feel like it united us in a way that was maybe being overlooked before. I was able to do a lot of things that I never thought I could do before in 2020, I did a lot of things I never thought I would have to do, and I am grateful for the “refining fire” if you will, that has been 2020. So here’s to 2021, which will be full of its challenges too, and here’s to all of us who emerged victorious through the furnace of 2020, renewed and refocused. Thank you to all of you for words of encouragement and gratitude, for making an effort to make this globe a better, more unified, and gentle place to live. #thankyou2020

In today’s episode of “Rylie likes to color shiny things” I have two NPC characters from a DnD campaign I’ve been DM-ing, Alistair the High Cleric, and Rozahn the swordsmith. ⚔️
This time of year is always so busy at work, so I never get to draw as much as I want to. I got the opportunity to go with Grandma for Dialysis the other day and got to be able to sit down for a few hours and draw. She turned out a lot more colorful than I had originally planned, but it suits her well. This is Elide, my Half-Orc sorceress. I was trying to capture the pure chaotic energy of Chromatic Orb for this Character Card, and after a lot of fiddling, I am quite pleased with it.

Up next is the 20% cooler Pony, the Daring Do Fangirl, the Wonderbolts lover herself….. Rainbow Dash. For Rainbow Dash’s dress I wanted to be short in order to make her be able to move around because she is an athletic girl and I figure she would feel track if she wore a longer dress. I also made her shoes flat because again athletic, it could be more better for her to run around and as well, basically to make her feel free. The hair accessory was a challenge because I didn’t want to make her wear a helmet, but I still wanted to put something on her head, so I decided to give her a hair accessory and I love the decision I made I feel like it really suits her. It’s the one and only party pony herself, Pinkie Pie! Considering the Factor Pinkie Pie is a party-planning I decided to give her a party dress. I personally feel like I really captured Pinkie Pie personality with the dress I designed for her. Like how I gave her a headband with a cupcake on it and I made her whole balloons in her hand and I wanted her to have high heels with string that looks like it’s from a birthday present because she loves to party and I figured that would be a good idea. Aw, the quiet pony. She was always the sweetheart of the group and many that a lot of introverted, shy and gentle people could relate to. When it came to Fluttershy’s dress I felt like I should go for more elegant flow especially since that’s what she also was going for in the episode, so that’s what I did here. I love My little pony friendship is magic and I love fashion. And Suited for Success was my favorite mlp episode. However, those ugly dresses that Twilight, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and AppleJack wanted Rarity to make them were terrible. So, in honor of mlp I will be redesigning those dresses in my own style. I will be calling this collection MLP Trashy to Classy.
