we had the idea over on tww discord of doing a ZINE of celebrating the worst witch fanworks! this is just a gauging interest post - there will be another post when we are accepting entries.
the zine will be free to download & print out for all, with a donation for a BLM charity suggested.
we will not be doing a print copy of this, but will try to make it printer-friendly!
theme & aesthetic
the theme currently floating around is seasonal - autumn/fall, possible “back to school” vibes. all gen or ships (between consenting adults) welcome! we are going for a sketch/snapshot aesthetic feel to keep things chill and low-stakes and accessible to people who don’t have a lot of time to invest but want to take part.
we are open for suggestions and input on this, so if you have a different idea or want to help develop prompts, let us know!
submissions
with regards to submissions, we welcome entries, whether fanfic or fanart, from people of ALL abilities and levels of engagement with the fandom!
each person will be allowed up to one (or two) page(s) of content, depending on how much interest we get! each page will probably be A5 or half letter size, which will limit how much you can submit.
because it’s “snapshot” feel, we recommend a very short fic of drabble length (100 words), or up to 200-250 words per page (it really depends on how many lines there are). we will let you know asap what kind of maximum length we will ask for and work with you to make sure your entry is suitable!
if you’d like to work with another contributor to have your entries facing or next to each other or in any way combined, this will definitely be an option.
there is no hard deadline as yet, since we’re just gauging interest and seeing who’d like to contribute and/or come onboard as an organiser! the vague idea is an august deadline for a september publication, since the works themselves are going to be more like sketches or impressions than super long or detailed.
if anyone has experience of putting a zine together, we’d super welcome your input!!

Idk, I haven’t actually read P&P since school and I honestly don’t remember it all that well, but that’s the magic of writing unnecessary sequels to public-domain works. It could be whoever we want it to be.
George Wickham.
Lydia comes to Pemberley for a visit, sans her husband because Darcy will not let that man set foot in their house after what he did to Georgiana. And she’s just as bubbly as usual, just as chatty. Until Darcy makes his excuses and leaves the two sisters sitting in front of the fire, and after a slight pause Lydia informs Lizzy that she can’t imagine how she manages to stay happy with a man so serious and grim as Darcy.
Lizzy, who knows her husband well enough by now, and that he was, in fact, smiling for most of dinner, tells her that they are well suited for each other and she is light enough for both of them.
After another pause, Lydia turns dark serious eyes to her eldest sister and asks in a tremulous, “Is he cruel to you too?”
Because we know George Wickham. We know what he is. He’s the man who tried to seduce a fifteen year old girl (Georgiana) for her fortune. This is Doris Pollas, the cofounder of the organisation now known as lgbt+ Denmark which by being founded in 1948 is one of the oldest if not the oldest queer organisation in the world.
Doris lived in a farm in Jutland as a child. She was always butch and figured out she was a lesbian in her teens. When she heard about a club in copenhagen where boys kissed boys and girls kissed girls she went just some months after and it was through that club she started a paper connecting queer people all up to seventies and co founded lgbt+ Denmark.
She is now 97 year and wishes for every queer person to have an as loving and accepting family as she did.
I don’t see a lot of older gays from my country, so learning about Doris, a masc lesbian, was really nice.
