Today’s the traditional date for the Winter Solstice, when the interior of Newgrange is lit up by the sunrise - but this year Ireland’s shortest day is actually the 22nd! In Fadó, Newgrange appears as either an empty, foreboding tomb or the cosy home of the Dagda (as seen in this screenshot!) depending on which character you’re playing as.

Fadó is an episodic game by Irish developer Fionn Keeley, focusing on iconic Irish myths and legends. The game is a 2D retro-inspired RPG for PC, featuring turn-based combat and four story routes based on classic tales.

Happy Lúnasa!
Just an update:
Fadó is currently going through its last few playtests, and is almost ready to go out into the world! We’ll have a lot more on that very soon, so keep an eye out.
In the meantime, have a look at this completely original and fantastical world map. Wow.

Some lunantishees (one of many, many names for the fairies that inhabit trees) in Fadó! Kind of stick-insect-y and covered in little clootie ribbons. Also one time back in 2017, Kerry TD Danny Healy-Rae blamed them for the roads being broken and that was pretty good.
