This arc is a collaboration with @for-the-love-of-nsfwhump​ , Damiel is hers and in this universe, they’re married to Ira. Also - this is a piece of writing I’m very proud of, and I hope that you like it.

Cw panic attack, referenced captivity, referenced lady whump, referenced death of a loved one. Not much whump, yet big on the angst.

Emma is pulling at Isaac’s hand, and he almost has to jog to keep up with her short legs. “Your uncle is an old man, Emmy,” he says, half joking. He’s not old, but he can’t walk fast. Not since he’s had a bullet lodged in his hip, in the night that cost him everything. 

“But I can see the playground already! Can I go? Please?“ 

He can see it, too. A big wooden pirate ship, some swings, a handful of other adults and kids wrapped into warm clothes on this sunny day in late fall. It’s just some meters, he tells himself. It’s safe. Still, it takes him some seconds to force his fingers to open and let his niece’s gloved hand slip out of his, as she races off. There’s something to the way she runs. Despite the childish joy to her movements, the somewhat clumsy way she sets her feet, he still thinks of Sophie. Sophie, who can’t be here, who has never met her niece, and whose laugh he misses every single day. The last thing he’s seen her do was run. Run by his side, to safety, to freedom. It had been so close. They could’ve been together. They should be.

They aren’t. He’s alone.

On the playground, Emma has reached the pirate ship and is already climbing up, gloves dropped on the ground, hands and booted feet steady on the small climbing grips. Sophie and him have always wanted kids. They’d talked about it often enough, before they went to bed. Two, at least, one boy and one girl, maybe. He wonders, if they’d ended up with the light brown curls Emma shares with him, or maybe more of the straight black hair from Sophie’s side. 

He’ll never know.

Now that March is here, that means it’s almost time for

Run by mods @kinglazrus​​ and @anthropwashere​​, Invisobang is a collaborative event that takes place over several months, where authors write fanfics, and then artists create art based upon those fanfics. It’s a great way to connect with other content creators in the Phandom!

How does it work?

See the Invisobang info doc for more detailed information on rules, frequently asked questions, and the event schedule.

There are two versions of the event: the main Big Bang with a minimum word count of 15k and a longer run time, and a Mini Bang with a 5k-word minimum and a shorter schedule.

1. Authors begin writing as soon as they sign up.
2. Halfway through the event, authors anonymously submit a rough draft and a summary of their fic.
3. Using the above information, artists pick the fics that interest them the most and submit a claim.
4. Mods will pair up authors and artists based on these claims
5. During the second half of the event, authors finish their stories while artists make their art.
6. At the end of the event, participants can share their work during posting week to create a big bang of content for everyone to oof and aah at!

When is it?

Big Bang sign-ups open March 18th. Author sign-ups close April 1st, and artist, beta, and pinch-hitter sign-ups close June 2nd. The event runs from March to August, with posting week being the last week of August.

Mini Bang sign-ups open May 18th, closing for writers on June 1st, and closing for artists, betas, and pinch-hitters July 13th. The Mini Bang posting period is the first full week of September.

Anything else do I need to know?

• The event is hosted through the Invisobang Discord. Because of this, participants must have a Discord account and be willing to join.
• Co-authors can sign up in teams
• Artists can make visual art or music
• All content must be made new for the event, which means no continuing posted wips. Sequels and prequels to existing works are allowed, as well as ideas you’ve had sitting on the backburner (as long as they haven’t been posted before)
