jane good at baking while okayish at cooking while jake quickly becomes very good at cooking but forever sucks at baking send post
jane treats the kitchen like a lab shes very scientific about everything and sticks as close as possible to the recipe. everything she cooks is good but theres hardly anything unique about it. however her perfectionism is what allows her baking to always come out perfect, shes very good at repeating and recreating recipes and always knows when to take her projects out of the oven.
while jake will chop up a bunch of meat and vegetables and throws it into a a pan and uses whatever spices and seasonings sounds nice and its the best thing youve ever eaten but he doesnt understand that you cant just *wing* baking and in general will burn anything he puts into the oven. he needs to use a stove or a grill where he can see what he’s doing or he will lose focus and forget what he was doing up until the smoke alarm goes off.
Jake can’t cook anything using the oven because he will immediately forget about it the second the door closes vs Jane who can’t use the stove bc she will immediately start trying to micro manage goddamn scrambled eggs.

so this AU’s been tickling my brain for a little while
like jane’s the good kid with average grades and good attendance but she doesn’t have much friends and is bullied often, then one day while she’s running away from a few douchesnozzles she runs into gamzee and he’s smoking a joint like underneath the bleachers or something. she gets scared because he looks scary and he smells like trouble but then he’s all like “calm your mothafuckin tits sis, it’s all cool. here, want a hit?” and then they’re friends
