I adore this series. When the first book (Illuminae) started appearing on Instagram, I wasn’t at all convinced this would be something for me. It’s build from chats, analysed video, dossiers, message boards and Aidan’s insane but entertaining ramblings. It’s not a format I enjoy reading, it often pulls me out of the story. While those moments come in spades, of course, Darkdawn gives us more of these moments. It lets our Mia see happiness and joy, something she’s deserved all her life.

It’s so. good.

A quick jerk forward, making sure you’re ready for what’s to come, and then all of a sudden you’re riding up the hill, waiting to crest the top and start speeding along. And oh my god, it’s a thrill. Each moment builds on one another, the tension palpable, and by the time you…

I’m having trouble putting into words how much I love this book, mostly because I’m still processing it.
Wow. Wow wow wow.
The writing is incredible. The characters: incredible. The plot: incredible. I couldn’t stop reading. Hell, I read during class, at work, any chance I could, I was reading. And when it was over? I didn’t know what to do with myself…
