A little update on Mia. The start took forever because for some reason the previous layers of oil were lifting when I was starting to paint new ones. I gave the painting a week between layers. It’s a bit better but still not 100%. I’m going to try something different in my next painting (which is already prepped and ready to go). Still, even with all the difficulties - loving oils.

My first days of august have been full of melancholy, a year ago i was in a different place, with different people, i miss that place and the people i met, by the other hand i’ve reading Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff and listening to my bangtan boys of course, I love this color palette, i think it complements very good. I’ve been M.I.A. recently, so here’s a drawing of Mia!

So, I’ve been posting more of my art over on my Twitter and my Instagram at the moment, but I thought I better let it make an appearance over here too.
This is a little painting of Mia Corvere, the protagonist of Jay Kristoff’s ‘Nevernight’, a delightfully gory and irreverant tome about revenge and assassins. It’s dark and funny and pretty much all round wonderful.

A new Nevernight / Godsgrave papercraft exclusively designed for a campfire mug item in the @illumicrate Darkdawn box.
This was such a fun design and SUPER yellow! I couldn’t help but get a little carried away with Mia’s hair, combining it with shadowy tendrils – and to show the movement, I had her doing some crazy acrobatics while fighting with Ash. A very precarious position between these two: Ash is pulling Mia along like a foxy flirt, but if she pulls Mia too close, she’ll get one right through the eye! All the while, Mr. Kindly is just making a quick exit from all the drama.
Darkdawn is on my shortlist TBR, I’m just trying to prep for my heart to be filleted, seasoned and roasted on a spit with a side of caramelized onions by Mr. Kristoff
