Hello book dragons! I am struggle bussing though this chilly Tuesday and already wishing for the evening to come. I am about 2/3 of my way though uprooted and after that is all done I plan on starting this bad boy. I have been a fan of @misterkristoff for a while and absolutely love his books so I have high hopes for this one!

Was so excited to get this beast in the mail yesterday! I pre-ordered this bad boy back in February and it’s so damn pretty! It’s has the most gorgeous illustrations inside and I think it may be the prettiest book I own.
.
I other news, lockdown in regional vice has eased, which means that Master Ollie has once more gone back to school. It’s been a bit rough and not gunna lie, it’s difficult keeping a a 7yo and a 3yo occupied while home schooling and it’s been a bit if a free for all the last few weeks. But, back to school for now at least, until holidays! ☺️

Things have been fairly steady on the writing front, and my rough timeline it’s looking good for now. It’s definitely coming along. It WOULD be nice to get a routine again. Routine? Who’s that?

Reading, writing and cooking nice things, these are a few of my favorite things.

(Yes, this is supposed to be hummed to the tune of Sound of Music’s “Favorite Things”)

Anyway….

Somehow, I have managed to find myself in a position to combine my three favorite things. Reading and writing and yeah, I cook for a living, but I’d never considered that I’ve be able to tie that in with my passion for the written word. Yet, here I am, writing recipe blogs for @mygeekology new geeky website!

What is my life right now!

Mt first post was @misterkristoff Empire of the Vampire, because honestly, I couldn’t cope with Gabes loathing of the humble potato. But also, EotV is hands down THE best book I have read this year, and I’ve read A LOT!
.
Creative license has been taken with the recipe, because, quite frankly, I refuse to cook without garlic. Can’t do it. Won’t do it. Can’t remember where Gsbe stands in garlic, but, compromises were made in the making of this soup.
.

One of mine is definitely “Obsidio” by @amiekaufmanauthor & @misterkristoff ☺ I really, really enjoyed “illuminae” and absolutely fell in love with “Gemina” and now I just can’t wait for the final part of the trilogy to finally be published ❤

It took, what feels like, FOREVER to receive my Goldsboro edition of AURORA RISING. Having this beauty in my hands makes it worth it! AND it’s #55 of 500!
I finished Aurora Rising a couple of weeks ago and it left me SHOOK! I had never been a fan of Sci-FI, much less space operas BUT Jay and Amie have showed me the light! Sci-Fi is now of my favorite genres. If you loved The Illuminae Files you definitely want to pick up Aurora Rising
The 3 editions I have are the US hardback, Goldsboro limited edition with purple sprayed edges, andlastly,Illumicrate exclusive edition with alternate cover color and pink sprayed edges.
