In this world, everyone has a soulmate. Most people give up on trying to find their soulmate, while some travel the world just to find that one special person.

Each person has different indicators that a person is their soulmate; in your case, every mark your soulmate gets on his skin appears on yours, like a burn scar, bruise, or a cut. You didn’t have the same moles, freckles, or birthmarks, and if he drew something on his skin, it wouldn’t appear on yours; basically, anything that changes an area of the skin that can’t be easily or instantly undone, will show up on your skin. Luckily, you couldn’t feel the pain from it, you could only see it.

“Y/N, you’re next,” your group’s makeup artist said to you, making you get up from the sofa. You sat on the chair, allowing her to work on your face while you listened to some music. After everyone in your group got ready, you went on stage. You were the leader of your group, so you had to talk before the performance.

-

Ateez had just finished performing and were currently watching your group from the TV in their waiting room while they had some refreshments.

Yeosang wasn’t paying much attention as he was really tired… that was until he noticed the burn scar on your finger while you talked: it was the exact same burn scar as his that he got two days ago while helping Wooyoung cook. He got up from the chair, moving closer to the TV to check if it was really the same. He mentally cursed when you gave the mic to another member, cause now he couldn’t see your hands anymore.

“What’s wrong, Yeosang?” Hongjoong asked.

“Hyung, she has the same scar as me,” he replied, showing the scar on his finger, shocking some of the members. “I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same.”

“Wait, wait, wait,” Wooyoung took out his phone; he had already found his soulmate, so he was sure this was a sign. He immediately searched for images on Twitter. When he found a picture of a bruise that you had on your knee, he showed it to Yeosang. “Didn’t you have the same bruise last month?”

Yeosang’s eyes widened. “No way… this can’t be true.”

“You don’t look very happy for someone who just found out who their soulmate is,” Yunho commented.

“That’s cause I’m not,” Yeosang said through gritted teeth. “I hate this whole soulmate bullshit. I’d rather genuinely fall in love with someone than have the universe choose that someone for me.”

None of the guys questioned Yeosang, knowing it was not the best time to talk to him about it; however, they really hoped he would change his mind soon.

-

After your group’s performance ended, you all started filming for your behind the scenes content. Today, you all had a challenge to do: your six-member group was split into two teams, and one member from each team had to visit five other groups/soloists in the building to play a round of rock, paper, scissors, and the team who gets the least wins would face a penalty that would be shown on the next vlive. You and one of your members, Aeji, decided to volunteer for it.

After finishing the first four groups, you went to Ateez’s waiting room which was at the end of the corridor. Aeji knocked on the door and Ateez’s manager opened it. She explained what you both were here for, and he agreed to let you film with them.

You entered the room, bowing to the eight men.  “Hi! I’m Y/N and this is Aeji, we have a small challenge to do here. Could one of you play rock, paper, scissors with us?” You noticed how some of the boys glanced at Yeosang who was staring at your hands. As soon as you made eye-contact with Kang Yeosang, you felt something unexplainable in your heart, making you gasp in shock. Your vision became blurry and your head started spinning, making you clutch your head with your arms in hope of getting the spinning to stop.

“Y/N?! Y/N, are you all right?” you heard Aeji ask, but her voice seemed so far away.

Your head started spinning even faster, causing you to faint.

“Fuck!” Aeji kneeled down, putting your head on her lap while Ateez’s staff got some water for you. They sprinkled some water on your face, but you didn’t respond. “Oh god, what suddenly happened? She was fine minutes ago,” Aeji mumbled to herself, but everyone heard her.

“Yeosang, do something,” Wooyoung said. “Maybe she’ll respond to you.”

Aeji glanced at them in confusion.

“I’m not doing shit,” Yeosang said. “You know I don’t like this whole soul—”

“I’m sorry, but what are you guys talking about?” Aeji questioned.

“Y/N is Yeosang’s soulmate,” San stated, making the older man glare at him for exposing him.

Aeji’s eyes widened. “Oh, is that so? Well, then do something, please. I don’t know what made her faint.”

“Well, from what I know, she passed out cause she has seen and been in the same area as Yeosang, but never realized he is her soulmate. The intensity of not knowing but being so close probably caused her to pass out,” Hongjoong explained.

You could hear everything, but you just weren’t able to open your eyes.

“Hyung, touch her cheek or something,” Jongho suggested.

Yeosang hesitated for a few seconds before he sighed, kneeling beside you. He placed his hand on your cheek, gently cupping it, stroking your skin with his thumb. Even though he hated the whole soulmate thing, he couldn’t deny that you were absolutely stunning; he had never seen anyone as beautiful as you.

Your eyes slowly opened, immediately landing on Yeosang’s beautiful brown ones. Time seemed to have frozen at that moment, and your heart filled with happiness. It was obvious to you that he was your soulmate; you were thrilled about it as you always wanted to find your soulmate, and you always found Yeosang unique whenever you saw him at shows.

“I-I have to go,” Yeosang murmured before standing up and leaving the room, leaving you confused. Why didn’t he look happy?

-

“Kang Yeosang from Ateez is my soulmate,” you told your members. They all were happy for you, except Aeji.

“Y/N, I don’t think Yeosang is as thrilled as you,” Aeji mumbled. “Jongho told me that Yeosang hates the whole soulmate thing.”

“Oh, my brother hated all that too, but after he found his soulmate, he loved it,” one of your members said with a small smile.

“Then let’s hope Yeosang is the same, hmm?” Aeji said, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. You really hoped everything would go well.

-

“Um, hey, can we talk privately?” you asked Yeosang, standing outside Ateez’s waiting room. He rolled his eyes, but followed you to the rooftop of the building.

You gave him a small smile. “So, uh—”

“Look, Y/N,” he started in a cold tone. “I don’t care if we’re soulmates according to the universe or whatever shit it is. Neither do I want a soulmate, nor do I need one. I’d rather find someone who genuinely loves me for who I am, not because of some hideous so-called soulmate bond.” You just kept quiet, unsure of what to say while your heart ached terribly.

“So just move on, yeah?” he continued, staring at the clouds moving in the blue sky. “I’m sure you’ll find someone who will genuinely love you.” He glanced at you before leaving you all alone on the rooftop with a shattered heart.

You always wanted to find your soulmate. You wanted to experience being madly in love with the person you’re fated to be with till death. But how could you do any of that when your soulmate doesn’t even want you? You wondered how it was so easy for him to break your heart. Was your bond really that weak?

You sighed, blinking away the tears from your eyes. You can’t and won’t force your soulmate to love you back, so you should probably take his advice and try to move on.

-

“Wow, Yeosang, didn’t know you were getting some action,” San said with a smirk, confusing the man who had just finished showering.

“What are you saying?”

“No need to act oblivious, we all can see it,” Wooyoung said.

“I pity our makeup artist,” Seonghwa commented.

Yeosang raised an eyebrow.  “What the hell are you guys talking about?”

Hongjoong rolled his eyes. “The hickey on your neck, obviously.”

Yeosang’s eyebrows furrowed. He checked his reflection in the mirror, eyes widening at the big hickey on his neck and one below his collarbone.

“It’s on Y/N,” Yeosang said through gritted teeth, feeling extremely annoyed and hurt. His heart ached terribly. He wanted to see you right now, but it was nearly impossible. Both his and your group’s promotions ended two weeks ago, and there was no way he could meet you anywhere outside due to paparazzi. He didn’t even have your number.

“You look… pissed,” Jongho stated.

“Well, yeah, my soulmate is fucking another man,” Yeosang spat before sitting on the large couch in the living room of the dorm, running his hand through his hair in frustration.

Yunho raised an eyebrow. “Do you expect her to wait for you when you literally told her to move on?” he asked in disbelief. “And now that she has, you’re pissed? That’s unfair.”

Yeosang sighed, remembering every word he told you. He knew Yunho was right.

“I know, but… I just can’t do this anymore. The bond is torturing me. A-And,” his voice cracked as tears swelled up in his eyes. “I love her. I really love her, soulmate or not.”

Wooyoung sat beside Yeosang, wrapping his arms around him, letting his bestfriend cry on his shoulder. Everyone could only hope it wasn’t too late for Yeosang.

-

“Yeosang… it’s been a week. You need to come out of your room,” Seonghwa murmured, kneeling beside Yeosang’s bed.

“I don’t feel like doing that, hyung.”

Seonghwa sighed. “We have to practice for the award show tomorrow. Our manager won’t let you miss practice for the third time.”

Yeosang groaned, putting his blanket over his head. “Can’t I miss it? Can’t our company say I’m sick?”

“Absolutely not,” Ateez’s manager said, entering the room. “You might win a big award tomorrow. And there’s a large audience, you could draw a lot of attention. Besides, Y/N’s group will be there.” Yeosang instantly removed the blanket from his head at the mention of your name.

“She’ll be there?”

“Yeah, the final lineup got confirmed an hour ago.”

-

Yeosang leaned in close to Jongho. “When is our break?” he whispered in Jongho’s ear.

Jongho groaned. “Hyung, this is the eighth time you’ve asked me that in less than half an hour.”

Yeosang glanced at where your group was seated; unfortunately, one of your members was covering you, so he couldn’t see you. He sighed, shifting his eyes back on the group that was currently performing while he tried his best to wait patiently.

As soon as all artists were given a break, he rushed to your group’s waiting room. He found only half of your members there.

“Hello,” he bowed. “Where is Y/N?”

“She’s in the bathroom on the second floor.”

Yeosang rushed there as fast as he could, ignoring the stares he was getting from other artists and staff.

“Y/N!” he yelled once he saw you leaving the bathroom, causing you to turn around.

Yeosang now stood right in front of you, panting from the run. Your heart raced at the sight of how ethereal your soulmate looked tonight, especially in his black suit and newly dyed black hair. He was absolutely stunning.

“Can we talk, please?” Yeosang asked anxiously, hope clear in his beautiful eyes.

You couldn’t say no, even though you should’ve. You simply nodded your head, letting him drag you to the emergency staircase in the building.

You leaned back against the wall, waiting for him to say whatever he wanted to. You noticed how he was fidgeting with his fingers while he leaned against the railing of the staircase.

“Are you okay?” you asked in concern. Your soulmate sighed, taking a few steps towards you.

“Can I hold your hand?” he questioned. When you nodded, he took your hands in his, gently rubbing circles on the back of it while he tried to calm down by taking deep breaths.

“I love you, Y/N,” he confessed. “I just… can’t stand the thought of you being with anyone else. It kills me to even think of it. I know I was a jerk before and I know you’ve moved on, but I—”

You cupped Yeosang’s cheek before capturing his lips with your own, surprising him; he couldn’t believe you were kissing him after everything he said. He kissed you back, his heart beating rapidly like yours. The soulmate bond between the two of you strengthened, causing a euphoric feeling.

You pulled away with a smile that grew wider when you saw how stunned and happy Yeosang was.

“I tried to move on,” you explained. “But I couldn’t. Not when my heart, my soul, belongs to you. I love you, Kang Yeosang.”

Yeosang chuckled happily, leaning in to kiss you passionately. His heart swelled with happiness and he mentally thanked the universe for bringing the two of you together as soulmates.

ATEEZ Reactions: You wearing their clothes.

Seonghwa:

You and Seonghwa were babysitting his nine months old nephew. The baby refused to let Seonghwa feed him; instead, he took the spoon of food from Seonghwa and threw it away, causing a mess on the floor, making Seonghwa sigh in frustration while he stared at the mess.

“Y/N, could you try feeding him? Maybe he’ll listen to you?”

You nodded, replacing your boyfriend. You took a spoon of the food and moved it around in the air like an aeroplane.

“The plane is coming! Say aaah!”

The baby giggled and pushed the plastic bowl off the table, causing everything to spill on you, dirtying the lower part of your blouse and your pants. Seonghwa offered you his clothes while he quickly washed your dirty ones.

When he saw you in his clothes, his eyes lit up. “Come here!” Seonghwa said, spreading his arms wide. He captured you in his embrace, placing multiple kisses on your head. “You look so good in my clothes. Now, how about we try feeding the little one again?”

Hongjoong:

You were at Hongjoong’s apartment, looking through his reformed clothes and accessories while you waited for him to finish reforming some shoes for Wooyoung.

One of the reformed jackets caught your eye: a denim jacket that had little flowers painted at the back. You thought it went really well with the plain white crop top you were wearing, so you put it on.

“You like the jacket?” Hongjoong asked when he noticed you wearing it.

“Yeah, it’s really pretty,” you said with a nod. “You’re so talented, love.”

“Thanks, babe. I reformed it while on tour,” he said with a smile. “You can keep it. It looks really nice on you.”

“Joong, this would be the fifth reformed jacket you’ve given me!”

Hongjoong chuckled. “And I will keep reforming more for you until I fill up an entire closet.”

Yunho:

Goosebumps arose on your skin as the temperature dropped, and the movie you and your boyfriend were watching was coming to an end.

Yunho noticed you tug on the thin blanket, trying to warm yourself a little. He quickly ran to his room and grabbed the first sweatshirt he found in his closet.

“Here, I know the blanket isn’t helping you much,” Yunho said, handing you his fleece sweatshirt. You were surprised he noticed as he seemed to be very interested in the movie.

You smiled, kissing his cheek. “Thank you.”

You put on his sweatshirt that fell right below your knee and adjusted your hair that got a little messy from the process.

“Oh gosh!” Yunho giggled, looking at you from head to toe.

“What?” you tried to adjust the sleeves that were really long for you.

“You look even smaller in my clothes, babe!” he pulled you into his arms, still giggling at the sight of you in his sweatshirt.

Yeosang:

You had fallen asleep on the couch while waiting for Yeosang to come home from his late night practice session.

When he got home, he found you sleeping in a fetal position, wearing one of his hoodies and his sweatpants. He couldn’t help but giggle, thinking about how adorable you looked in his clothes.

After he changed into his pajamas, he lifted you from the couch, the movement causing you to wake up. “Yeosang? When did you come home?” you asked sleepily.

“About five minutes ago,” he answered, carrying you to your shared bedroom. He gently laid you on the bed and put the blanket over you before getting in with you.

“My clothes look nice on you, by the way,” he said, pulling you into his arms so that he could spoon you.

“Yeah, they’re really comfy,” you mumbled sleepily. Yeosang placed a kiss on your shoulder before he began to sing you to sleep.

San:

You glanced out the window of San’s bedroom, noticing how the heavy rain hasn’t stopped. It was already eight in the night, and you had to go back home as you had work tomorrow.

“Babe, the weather focast says it will rain until one. Why don’t you stay over? I can drop you off early in the morning.”

Your heart beat sped up; this would be the first time you were spending the night with him. “Are you sure, Sannie? I can just wait until the—”

“Of course I’m sure,” he mumbled, kissing your head. “I don’t want to you drive this late, especially when it’s pouring like crazy outside.”

Since it was sudden, you had nothing to wear to bed. San offered one of his t-shirts that fell to your mid-thigh.

Once you changed into his clothes, he couldn’t take his eyes off you. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close to him before he gently kissed you. “You look better in my clothes than I do, babe.”

Mingi:

Mingi laughed in amusement when you emerged from your bedroom in one of his sweaters that was way too big for you.

“You can literally wear it as a dress! How about I style you and take some pictures?” before you could say anything, Mingi dashed into your room, searching through your closet. He spent almost half an hour deciding what would look best with the sweater.

“Okay babe, wear this with those,” he said, handing you fishnet tights and pointing at your combat boots. “I’ve seen this style on some celebrities and it looked pretty good.”

You did as he said, and the result stunned him. “Wow, you look amazing!” he immediately took his phone out, taking pictures of you on his snapchat before he switched to the normal camera. “Okay babe, let’s go outside and to the rooftop to get some more pictures! I’ve got a lot of ideas!” He was reallyexcited.

Wooyoung:

Wooyoung told you he would be busy for the next four days and wouldn’t be able to meet you, so you wore his hoodie that he left in your apartment as you missed him a lot.

You haven’t wore any of his clothes before as your relationship was still new, but since he wasn’t here, you decided to wear it anyway; knowing Wooyoung, he most likely won’t be bothered.

However, Wooyoung came over to your apartment the very next day to surprise you. When you opened your apartment door, you weren’t expecting to see him.

Wooyoung’s lips stretched into a smirk at the sight of you clad in his red hoodie.

“Did you miss me that much, babe? I was only gone for a few hours.”

You were a little confused by his words until you realized you were wearing his hoodie. Your cheeks visibly turned pink, causing Wooyoung to laugh and lightly pinch them.

“You look adorable!” he squealed, pulling you into a hug. “You should wear my clothes more often.”

Jongho:

You were at a bowling alley with your friends. You were wearing one of Jongho’s favorite t-shirts as you had nothing to wear, and it went well with your demin shorts.

Jongho and his friends also ended up at the same bowling alley, and you were a little surprised to see him there cause he didn’t tell you about his plans.

“Babe! Hi!” he called out, approaching you.

You gave him a hug, causing your friends to tease you, but you ignored them. “I didn’t know you were bowling today too.”

“Oh yeah, Yunho wanted to play, and we all agreed,” he said, looking at you from head to toe. “Is this my t-shirt?” he asked, pointed at the t-shirt.

You nodded. “Yeah, I had nothing to wear.”

“That’s… a good idea actually,” he said with a chuckle. “Whenever you have nothing to wear, just take something from your boyfriend’s closet. Simple.”

ATEEZ Reactions: Meeting their mate. (Vampire!Ateez)

Seonghwa:

You had just arrived in a small town, searching for your next prey. No one was on the streets as it was an hour past midnight. Still, you walked around, hoping someone would come out as you didn’t want to break into anyone’s house.

When you walked towards the largest house at the end of the street, you could smell a bunch of vampire scents; one of them was extremely strong, causing you to stop in your tracks. You sniffed the air, the scent of that particular vampire driving you insane.

“Do I really smell that good?” you whipped around, eyes instantly meeting with beautiful, sparkling red ones.

The extremely handsome vampire approached you, cupping your cheek with his hand while he smirked. “I’m Seonghwa, your mate,” he leaned in, placing a kiss on your neck, making you feel ecstatic. “And you smell just as irresistible.”

Hongjoong:

“Even I can wear red contact lenses and call myself a vampire,” you said, crossing your arms over your chest while you glared at the red-haired man standing in front of you.

“Why did my mate have to be a human of all creatures?” Hongjoong groaned, running his hand through his hair in frustration. “How should I prove it to you?”

You shrugged. “I don’t know, bite me? Suck my blood?” you chuckled.

Hongjoong’s red eyes glowed slightly at the thought of sinking his teeth into your skin, making you take a step back in shock. You blinked a couple of times, wondering if you were hallucinating.

“Y-Your eyes are glowing,” you murmured, eyes growing wide.

Hongjoong chuckled. “Are they? Oh, I wonder why,” he said with a smirk. “Do you believe me now, my mate?”

Yunho:

Yunho was lying down on the grass in a meadow, underneath the shade of a large tree. He let out a small sigh while he stared at the moving clouds in the sky, wondering when his loneliness would end.

Yunho could hear soft footsteps, but he paid no attention to it, assuming it was an animal. But when the footsteps got closer, he could smell something incredibly amazing that caused him to quickly sit up, glancing around until he spotted you picking some wild flowers.

Within a second, he was standing right in front of you, scanning you from head to toe.

“You must be my mate,” he said with a large smile, giggling when he heard your heart beating faster. “Or are vampire hybrids supposed to smell this… tempting?”

You chuckled. “No, you’re right, I am your mate.”

Yunho happily took your hands in his. “You have no idea how long I’ve waited for you.”

Yeosang:

The last thing Yeosang expected was to find his mate in a nightclub, making out with some other guy. It was already bad enough that you were a human—his kind’s prey.

Yeosang pushed the guy away from you before taking your hand, dragging you outside the club despite your protests.

He let go of your hand. “What the fuck were you doing?!”

“Excuse me? Me making out is none of your b—”

“Of course it is! You’re my mate!” he took a step towards you, making you take a step behind, your back pressing against the wall. He placed his hands on the wall on either side of your head. “I know you don’t know me… who and what I am… and you probably can’t feel what I feel…” he leaned closer to you, his lips stopping just a few millimeters away from yours, “but it’s my duty to love and protect you, and keep you by my side forever.”

San:

San sneaked into a hospital at 3AM, heading for the blood bank room to get him and his friend some blood bags. He could smell something heavenly, but he brushed it off, assuming he was just really thirsty.

When San got to the room, he was stunned to find you sitting on one of the chairs, drinking from a blood bag. You pulled away, giving him a smile once you realized who he is. “Didn’t expect to find my mate here,” you said with a chuckle, handing him the half empty blood bag. “Here, you’re clearly hungry.” you eyed him from head to toe while he drank from the bag, his red eyes never leaving yours.

Once he finished drinking, you couldn’t help but lean in, licking the stray drop of blood on his lips. San smirked, red eyes glowing, before he captured your lips with his own, enjoying the heavenly combination of your taste mixed with traces of blood.

Mingi:

Mingi walked into a vampire-themed café, mentally laughing at the coffin tables and the spider web decorations. He thought it would be funny to get some food from a vampire café.

You noticed Mingi take a seat at one of the tables and you approached him to take his order. “Good evening, sir! What would—” you gasped the moment your eyes met his, an ecstatic feeling immediately spreading through your body. Mingi could feel it, too.

“You’re a vampire,” you stated.

“And you’re a human.”

You chuckled, shaking your head. “I’m a vampire hybrid.”

Mingi’s eyes widened. “You look very… human. I can’t even smell the vampire side of you.”

“That’s probably cause of my diet. I can have blood, but I prefer human food,” you said with a smile. “Would you like to have some?” you teased.

Mingi smirked. “No, but I’d certainly like to have you.”

Wooyoung:

Wooyoung was walking beside a lake when something hard crashed into him, sending him flying in the air and into the water.

“Oh fuck!” you squeaked, mentally cursing your speed. “I’m so sorry!”

He got out of the water, glaring at you… until he noticed your unique scent. Of course, he knew who you were now.

“I’m so sorry… I just became a vampire a few days ago and I’m still figuring out how to control my speed,” you explained, trying your best to ignore his irresistible scent.

Wooyoung took a few steps towards you. “Did you know we vampires have mates?”

“No…” your eyes flickered between Wooyoung’s eyes and his lips.

Wooyoung leaned in, placing his lips on your neck, quickly marking you. “Well, you’re officially mine.”

Jongho:

Jongho had given up on searching for you years ago. He was convinced that he didn’t have a mate since he was the only mate-less one amongst his friends.

“I heard there’s a new vampire in town,” Seonghwa said. “My girl’s bringing her over right now.” Jongho didn’t really care and continued reading the book in his hands.

A delicious scent filled the air, causing Jongho’s to take a deep inhale. “Hyung, do you smell that?”

“Smell what? Oh, the lavenders?”

“No, no,” Jongho shook his head. “I don’t know how to des—”

The front door opened and you walked in with Seonghwa’s mate. Jongho loudly gasped at the sight of you, his red eyes immediately glowing like yours; he felt insanely happy.

“Looks like you’ve finally found your mate,” Seonghwa chuckled, patting the younger vampire’s back who was still in awe.

“What the fuck is this?!” you asked through gritted teeth, throwing the freshly printed photos at San’s chest.

Your husband didn’t have to look at them to know what you were talking about; his men had already reported to him that you watched the entire recording of him seducing his… target.

“Babe—”

“No, San!” you yelled, cutting him off. “This is the fifth fucking time!”

“But the other one time wasn’t about this.”

“The other three, now four times were!” he was really getting on your nerves.

“Why are you overreacting?” he questioned with a sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Y/N, you knew I had no choice.”

You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, trying to control your anger. “I understand that you had to seduce her. I know that it’s your job,” you tried to say calmly, but your voice was rising. “What I don’t understand is why you let her slip her fucking hand into your pants after you got the damn information that you wanted!”

San visibly gulped; he didn’t expect you to be this angry. He thought he was well prepared to face you after mentally forming the situation in his head. He knew you’d be pissed, but not to this extent.

“I pushed her away though,” he mumbled, running a hand through his hair.

“Yeah, after like, five minutes,” you retort. “And the worst part was that you were clearly enjoying yourself in those five minutes! Do you know her or something?”

San sighed deeply, ignoring the question. “Babe, look, I’m sorry,” he apologized, not sure about what else he could say to calm you down. Your husband took your hand in his. “I won’t do it again, I promise.”

You immediately ripped your hand away from his, rolling your eyes. “That’s what you always say, San.” He took a deep breath; you were testing his patience and he didn’t like people doing that.

“San,” you start, “How would you feel if you saw a guy kissing me and I get carried away and let him touchme?”

That struck him. Hard. He would hate it, obviously. San wouldn’t even hesitate to put a bullet through the man’s head if he touched you in any way.

San’s silence gave you the answer. “That’s what I thought,” you snorted.

“Y/N, I’m sorry,” San apologized again. “But I still had to do it and you know that.”

“Whatever,” you mumbled and turned around, heading to your room; he still didn’t understand just how much it hurt you. It was already worse enough that you had to witness him kiss and touch all those women. But witnessing San let another woman touch him in the place where only you’re allowed to, not only pissed you off, but also hurt you deeply. As the seducer of the mafia gang, he was literally trained to not get carried away; his only job was to get whatever information was needed. San was a very, very skilled seducer and you knew that damn well. Although he did get carried away a few times, he never let his targets touch him. So you couldn’t understand why he let that happen now. You texted Yunho (your bestfriend and San’s close friend) to ask about that woman, knowing that he would never lie to you.

Your anger increased when Yunho replied: “Oh, she hooked up with San a couple of times back in high school.” You snorted in annoyance; so he let her touch him just because he knew her?

Your thoughts were interrupted by your phone’s notification going off. Your friends were planning to go clubbing tonight as it was a Saturday. You were going to decline, knowing that San wouldn’t let you go if he wasn’t with you, but you decided against it; you had a plan in mind and you knew it would work.

You ignored San the entire afternoon. He tried to talk to you but you didn’t even spare him a glance. He sighed, leaving you alone to cool down.

-

“Where are you going?” San asked, looking at you from head to toe, while your four year old daughter, Minhee, played with some toy aeroplanes.

“Clubbing,” you answered without looking at him.

“You’re not going anywhere,” San said through gritted teeth. “Especially not wearing that.” You were wearing denim shorts and a black lace bralette that showed off your cleavage more than you’d usually prefer. You purposely chose this outfit, of course, and he knew that.

“You don’t get to decide where I go and what I wear,” you stated. You walked over to your daughter, placing a kiss on her head. “Minnie,” you called her by her nickname. “Mommy will be back soon, okay?” you said to your little angel before walking out the door.

-

“Y/N! You finally came!” one of your friends yelled, already drunk. She takes your hand and drags you through the crowd of people to get to the bar on the other side. “Three tequila shots for my friend here!”

A while later, you noticed Wooyoung and Mingi at the entrance of the club; you knew San would end up here as soon as he asks Seonghwa or Hongjoong to look after your daughter for the night.

And you were right.

San entered the club, dressed in all black, looking fucking hot. You wanted to go up to him and ask him to fuck you till you see stars; however, you were still pissed and had a plan to execute.

You quickly downed your shots and pulled your friend to join your other friends who were dancing. You danced with them until one of your friends introduced you to some random guys. One of the guys, who you found really good looking, started to dance with you. You noticed San sitting on a barstool, watching everything. At that moment, the guy you were dancing with put his hands on your waist, pulling you close to him, making San nearly break the glass he was holding. Perfect. Your plan was working.

When you glanced at where San was seated, he wasn’t there anymore. You glanced around, searching for him until you felt a hand wrap around your wrist, dragging you away.

San dragged you downstairs where there were private rooms especially for him and his gang members as they owned this club. He took you to the room belonging to him, locking the door behind him.

“What the fuck were you doing?! How could you let him even lay a finger on you?!” your husband snarled through gritted teeth.

You snorted. “All he did was put his hands on my waist. At least he didn’t slip them into my pants and touch me.”

San now understood exactly why you did that; you were giving him a taste of his own medicine.

You moved to sit on the sofa, your legs starting to hurt from dancing so much. San kneeled down in front of you, placing his hands on the bare skin of your thigh. “Babe, I’m sorry. I’m an asshole, I know. But please understand that chick meant nothing to me. I didn’t even know her.”

You pushed his hands away from you. “Don’t lie to me.”

“I’m not lying,” he lied.

“You hooked up with her in high school,” you deadpanned.

“Fuck,” he muttered under his breath. He just fucked up again. “Y/N, I didn’t mean to—”

You stood up from the couch. “No, fuck you, I’m done with you and your fucking bullshit,” you snarled angrily, cutting him off, before making your way back to your friends.

“They might take this route instead, we can’t predict what they’ll do,” Jongho said while moving around the meeting room; he was in charge of today’s meeting on some mafia gang who had tried to hack into your gang’s system to get information on your international drug deals.

During the meeting, your daughter’s nanny called you. You declined the call, sending her a text that you were in a meeting. She called again and you ignored it, thinking she wouldn’t have seen your message. When she called for the third time, you excused yourself from the meeting.

“I’m in a meeting, Jina, what is—”

“Mrs. Choi,” she sobbed. “T-They took Minnie…”

“What?! Who?!” you felt your stomach churn uneasily.

“I-I don’t know,” Jina cried, “They beat me up at the park till I passed out and t-took her away. They said they would c-contact you.”

“Where are you?” you asked.

“At a nearby hospital,” she said. “An old couple brought me here.”

“I’ll be there in five,” you said and hung up. You were just about to enter the meeting room, but an unknown number called you. You picked up, assuming it was your daughter’s kidnappers since you never got calls from unknown numbers.

“You have a beautiful daughter, Choi Y/N,” the man said. “I bet she would look even better with a slit throat, yeah?”

“Who are you? What do you want?” you asked, voice laced with venom.

The man chuckled. “It’s simple, your fucking gang has to pay for my loss.”

“Just tell me what the fuck you want!”

“Fifteen billion won in cash,” he said. “That’s the amount I lost because of you motherfuckers. Now listen to me carefully if you don’t want your precious child dead. You aren’t going to tell anyone about this. Not a word to your boss, Kim Hongjoong. Not a word to your pathetic husband, Choi San. I have eyes watching you, so don’t try to act smart. I know you’re having a meeting right now about a gang who tried to hack into your system.” your eyes widened; how the fuck does this guy know? “I’m giving you three hours,” he continued. “If you don’t get the money within that time, I’ll kill your daughter. Anyway, you’ll find a black van waiting for you outside the bank. Your time starts now, Mrs. Choi. Tick tock, tick tock,” he chuckled before hanging up.

“Fuck!” you yelled, tears spilling from your eyes. You ran your hand through your hair, trying to calm down; you felt like breaking down but you had to stay strong for your daughter. You wiped your tears before making your way back to the meeting room.

“I’m sorry, I’m feeling quite unwell,” you mumbled, quickly collecting your stuff. “Please continue without me.”

“Y/N, should I take you home?” San asked; you both still haven’t made up from the fight you had a week ago. He tried to talk to you a few days ago, but it resulted in a bigger fight.

“No!” you half-yelled in frustration, startling some of the people in the room. “I’m fine,” you said in a softer tone. You quickly left before San could follow you.

-

“Ah, Mrs. Choi, how can I help you?” the bank manager asked, taking a seat across you.

“I need fifteen billion won in cash,” you stated, stunning the manager.

“Ma'am, that is a very large amount so cash isn’t the best—”

“I need it in cash. It’s really urgent,” you said in an annoyed tone.

He gulped and nodded. “Please give me your national ID card.”

You handed it to him, fiddling with your fingers while he entered your details into the computer system.

“You have a joint account with your husband, Choi San, correct?”

“Yes.”

“Ma'am, we will need Mr. Choi’s confirmation as he is the primary account holder.”

You mentally cursed. “That won’t be necessary,” you stated, trying to control your anger.

The manager sighed. “All right, please give me a moment,” he said before leaving the room.

You groaned in frustration, putting your head in your heads. You couldn’t imagine what your little daughter was going through; you knew she would be scared to death. Your phone rang, interrupting your thoughts.

You declined the call when you saw it was your husband. When he called again, you had no choice but to pick it up, knowing he would keep calling you. “Hello?”

“Y/N, what are you doing? Why are you making such a huge transaction?” San questioned. You mentally cursed the bank manager for contacting San. “Y/N, answer me! What’s wrong?” You just kept quiet, knowing you’d break down if you opened your mouth. You heard San take a deep breath. “Are you leaving me or something? Is this about the fights we’ve been having? I’m sorry about that, I know it was my fault and I don’t deserve you, but please, let’s talk about this,” he begged, making your tears spill from your eyes. “Y/N, say something, please. Tell me what’s wrong.”

“I can’t,” you whispered, choking on a sob.

“Baby, please,” he begged. “Don’t leave me. Please, I’m begging you.”

“I’m sorry, San.”

There was silence on his end before he sighed. “Okay, take all the money you want,” he said and hung up.

A moment later, the manager came into the room. “Ma'am, Mr. Choi has given his permission for the transaction. The procedure for huge cash transactions are of course different, so I need you sign a few papers and write a cheque. It’ll take a little over half an hour to get the money in cash.”

-

As soon as you got the cash, you called your daughter’s kidnappers. “I assume you’ve got the money?”

“Yeah,” you replied.

“Good. You’ll see a black van from across the entrance of the bank,” he said and hung up.

You quickly made your way outside, easily spotting the van. You crossed the street and got into the van.

You couldn’t recognize the driver and the other man in the passenger seat. Your daughter wasn’t even here.

“Good job, Mrs. Choi,” the man in the passenger seat said with a smirk; you recognized him as the guy on the call.

“Where’s my child?”

“Relax,” he grinned. “We’re going to her right now.” He glanced at the driver who nodded and started driving.

“Ah, give me your phone,” the man said. “We don’t need your husband tracking us.” You hesitantly gave it and he switched it off.

After what felt like hours, you reached an old building. As soon as you got outside the car, you spotted your daughter tied to a wall, unconscious with a bleeding head.

“Minhee!” you yelled, running to her.

Before you could untie her, you felt an arm go around your neck, choking you. Even though you were trained to fight, you weren’t the best at it. Nevertheless, you tried to free yourself. You kicked the man in the shin, making his grip around you loosen. You took that opportunity to bite his hand before turning around, punching him in the face. You kept punching him until two other men grabbed you. You managed to get one of them injured by repeatedly kicking his private area, but the other guy one was too strong. He easily picked you and threw you onto the concrete floor, making you bang your head and knee. You groaned in pain, feeling a warm liquid running down your face. You pushed yourself to get up despite the excruciating pain you felt. His gun was pointed at you while he smiled. “Have a great time in hell, Choi Y/N.”

Suddenly, a gunshot was heard and the man dropped his gun, clenching his hand in pain. A few more gunshots were fired at him, instantly killing him.

“Y/N!” you heard San scream. He picked you up in his arms bridal style, and you got a glimpse of his teary eyes.

“Min-Minhee,” you murmured, struggling to keep your eyes open.

“Seonghwa’s got her” was the last thing you heard before everything went black.

You slowly opened your ears, squinting due to the bright light. When your eyes adjusted, you realized you were in Yeosang’s mini hospital at your gang’s mansion. You turned your head to the side, spotting your husband reading some documents.

“San,” you murmured, but it wasn’t loud enough. “San,” you raised your voice a little, coughing due to your extremely dry throat.

San immediately turned to you, eyes widening. “Y/N!” He quickly poured you a glass of orange juice since that was the first thing he saw. He helped you drink the juice, feeling so relieved to see you finally awake.

“How are you feeling, my love?” he asked, taking your hand in his.

“Where’s Minhee?” you asked, panick clear in your eyes.

“Minnie is playing with Jongho and Yunho,” San said, making you sigh in relief that your daughter was alive. “She’s doing well. She got a few stitches, but it’s healing quickly. Our daughter is very brave.”

Your eyes teared up. “I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you about—”

“Shh, don’t,” he cupped your cheek. “I understand why you did what you did, babe. I would’ve done that too. Anyway, we wiped out that entire gang and got the money back.”

“What happened? How did you find me?”

“We killed all the four men and the other three who were hiding. One of them ran away to Japan, but Wooyoung and Mingi went there and killed him,” San explained before getting a little nervous. “And um, don’t be mad, but I put a tracker on your necklace.”

You narrowed your eyes at him. “Hey, see, it proved to be helpful!” he said, putting his hands up defensively.

Before you could reply, San placed his hand over your mouth. He took a deep breath while a wide smile spread on his face. “I also have some good news.”

“What’s the news?” you asked, voice muffled due to San’s hand on your mouth. He opened his mouth to reply, but the door burst open, revealing your daughter.

“Mommy!” she squealed, running to your bed, trying to get onto the bed that was too high for her.

San picked his daughter up, placing her beside you. “Be careful, angel. Mommy is still recovering.” The little girl nodded at her father before looking at you.

“How you feel, mommy?” she asked.

“Much better, now that you’re here,” you replied, tickling her chin. Your daughter giggled, moving away from you. She placed her little hands on your stomach.

“Come out fast so that we can play!”

Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion before you glanced at San. “About that…” he chuckled, taking your hand in his. “We’re having another baby. You’re pregnant.”

“W-What?” you gasped in shock. You and San had been trying to get another child for quite sometime now.

“Yeah,” he giggled, kissing the back of your hand. “You’re almost a month long and the baby is perfectly fine.”

Happy tears streamed down your face while your hands moved to your stomach. San kissed your head before pulling away a little. “I know I’ve been getting on your nerves a lot, but thank you for blessing me with Minhee and now another baby,” he mumbled. “I love you so much, my beautiful wife.” He crashed his lips onto yours. You kissed him back, smiling into the kiss.

“Eww!” your daughter squealed in disgust. “I’m going to tell uncle Jongho that you’re kissing!”

San pulled away with a giggle before lifting his daughter into his arms, placing kisses all over her face while she squirmed around, laughing loudly.

You lovingly watched the two of them with a large smile on your face, and you couldn’t wait for the future when your new baby would arrive, adding more happiness to your and your family’s lives.

ATEEZ Yunho: Better (oneshot)

Genre: angst, fluff, bestfriends to lovers au, non-idol au.

Pairing: Yunho x reader

Warnings: alcoholism/alcohol abuse, mentions of getting help professionally.

image

“Please stop,” you cried, reaching out to grab the bottle of alcohol from your bestfriend; he had just gotten home from a bar and was drinking again. Yunho was drinking at almost every hour of the day, not stopping at all even after he passed out multiple times.

You really don’t know when and how your bestfriend started drinking way more than a person should, but at this point, you were sure this was alcoholism. You wanted to get him out of it, but nothing you did seemed to work out; he even refused to get help professionally, saying that he’s not gonna pay so much just to talk to someone about his problems. If he wasn’t drinking at a bar, he was drinking in his apartment and it was starting to scare you.

“Get lost,” Yunho spat, not allowing you to take the bottle away from him.

“Yunho, please, this is way too much! You’re going to pass out again!” You really wished he would talk to you about his problems; you both were bestfriends ever middle school and you knew everything about each other. You don’t know why Yunho suddenly stopped opening up to you.

“Just leave, Y/N,” he said in a cold tone, taking a sip of the alcohol.

“I’m not going any—”

“Just leave!” he yelled, making you flinch a little. “Leave me the fuck alone! Go run to that fucking asshole!”

Your eyes widened. “What? Who?”

He chuckled bitterly. “You think I don’t know that you slept with Jae?”

“Yunho, I’ve never even spoken to him!”

“Don’t fucking lie to me!” he yelled, throwing the bottle at the wall. You jumped at the sound of the glass shattering. “I saw you leaving with him at that party!”

You took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down before you could calm him down. “Yunho, you’ve misunderstood! I left with Mingi, remember? You told him to drop me home! I—”

“Why am I not good enough for you? Why can’t you see how much I’m in love with you?” he mumbled, cutting you off, and you froze in place. Yunho sat down against the wall, staring at the space in front of him. “I can’t do well at my job. My friends ignore me most of the time. My family doesn’t bother contacting me. The woman I love doesn’t love me back. I only have alcohol.” So that’s what this was all about.

You kneeled beside your bestfriend, taking his face in your hands. He stared at you with his pain-filled eyes, causing your heart to ache. “Yunho, I didn’t know you fell in love with me. If I had known that, I would’ve told you that I feel the same way.”

He moved away from you. “I don’t want your pity, Y/N. Just leave me alone.”

“I love you, Yunho,” you confessed. “I’ve been in love with you for years. Why do you think I haven’t dated anyone?”

You reached out to hold his hands, but he pushed yours away harshly. “Leave me alone! I don’t give a fuck if you love me and I don’t need you in my life. I don’t want to see you ever again,” he said, slowly getting up from the floor. “So get out of my house. Now.”

You stood up from the floor, staring at him in disbelief. “Yun—” you paused. You were trying so hard to not cry, but you knew you would break down any second. You looked at his emotionless face before you nodded; you didn’t want to leave him in that state, but maybe he just needed to be alone right now.

You took your sling bag and pulled out a bottle of painkillers, knowing Yunho would need them in the morning. You left them on his dining table before you left.

It was pouring heavily outside, but you didn’t care. You walked in the rain with an aching heart and a mind filled with thoughts of Yunho.

“Y/N!”

You kept walking, eyes focused on the ground while your tears blended with the rain.

“Y/N!” Yunho grabbed your wrist, making you turn around. He was breathing heavily due to running after you. He cupped your cheeks, staring into your eyes. His eyes never left yours while took his leather jacket off, putting it over your head and then his own, shielding you both from the rain. You kept your eyes on the ground, but you could feel his eyes on you. You slowly looked up, noticing how there were only a few centimeters between you and him. Your eyes flickered between Yunho’s eyes and his lips, and he slowly leaned down, stopping at your parted lips, waiting for a few seconds to see if you would push him away. When you didn’t, he captured your lips with his own. Your hands moved down to grasp his shirt while you kissed him back; you’ve dreamed about kissing him for so many years.

Yunho pulled away after a while, resting his forehead against yours. “I’m sorry for behaving like an asshole,” he murmured. “When you walked out the door, I felt like my whole world was shattering.” You cupped his cheek, making him look at you. “I-I can’t lose you, Y/N,” he continued. “I love you you much. I know it’s hard to love me, to be with me… but please give me a chance. I can’t see you with someone else. I promise to become better for you. I swear I’ll become better.”

“I love you and that’s why I’m willing to try,” you replied honestly. “But you have to let me help you, Yunho. You’re drinking way too much, it scares me. I almost get a heart attack whenever you pass out. I can’t lose you, Yunho, you mean the whole world to me. Please, let me help you.” your voice cracked at the end, making Yunho realize just how much his actions affected you. He took a deep breath before nodding his head; he wanted to become better not only for you, but also for himself.

Yunho wrapped his jacket around you before he lifted you bridal-style, carrying you back to his apartment to show you just how much he loves you.

[11:56 PM]

Bestfriend!Wooyoung got up earlier than usual just to make some soup, knowing you would have a terrible hangover due to the New Year’s eve party you both went to last night. When you sat at the dining table to drink the soup he made, you noticed how he was smirking.

“What?” you asked before you could take a sip, suspiciously eyeing him and then the soup. “You didn’t put something in this, did you?” He chuckled, shaking his head in response. “I don’t believe you, Woo.”

Wooyoung snorted before taking a spoon of the soup and drinking it. “See? I promise it’s totally fine.” You tried it yourself and it tasted amazing, so you continued having it.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” you asked Wooyoung who was smirking at you again. “What’s running on that mind of yours, Woo?” you questioned, taking a spoon of the soup.

“You,” he answered. “And your little drunk confession. I didn’t know you loved me that much, Y/N,” he teased and you nearly choked on your soup.

“W-What do you mean?” you asked, cheeks turning a shade of pink. Wooyoung grabbed his phone from the table, playing a video and handing his phone to you with a big grin.

“Jung Wooyoung, you irresistible, hot man!” drunk you yelled, standing on a table. All the guys were watching you, and Seonghwa and Yunho stood down beside you, making sure you wouldn’t fall from the table. “I love you! I’m so in love with you, Jung Wooyoung!” Some of the boys cheered and whistled while Wooyoung had the biggest smile on his face, his heart racing from your confession.

“Oh my god!” you groaned in embarrassment, avoiding looking at Wooyoung. He snorted, cupping your cheek, forcing you to look at him.

“I love you too, Y/N,” he murmured, making your heart pound rapidly, before leaning down to kiss you, smiling against your lips when you kissed him back.

Wooyoung pulled away after a while, resting his forehead against yours. “Happy New Year, my love.”

Happy New Year everyone! I hope y'all have a safe, beautiful, and amazing year ahead. ❤
