carlie._.mmk #BlackLivesMatter ✊ RANT WARNING: So over past week (and probably well before) race and specifically my blackness has been in the forefront of my mind. I have always been aware that I live in a white family with white communities but until recently it hadn’t been anything. I have always hated talking about race for fear that I will offend someone and so I never said anything, being told I wasn’t black enough (not gonna lie, it kind of hurts). With everything that has happened this week and all of the protests I feel like I have a duty to be out and making change but I really don’t know how. I shared things on my story but I want to talk to people and tell them how I feel and that I have finally found pride in my race. Through all of this I have had one person come and ask me how I feel and I am eternally grateful for her because it made me feel like my thoughts did matter. The fact that so many people finally care about something that has been present for as long as anyone can remember is so amazing and I really hope we can carry this enthusiasm and actually make change. Dispite the fact that my dad works for the Corrections Facilities the prison system and police have always been something I fear. I fully support all of the protests and riots and I agree, people should be mad! I guess that’s all I have to say, thanks for listening. Stay Safe! ❤️

WHO POLICE THE POLICE?

It’s been a while since the KluKlux
Looked like the KluKlux
You ain’t gotta glue clues
As common as glucose
To glimpse them a blue cloak
Welcome to America
The new coke
A cola coated with a bit a codeine
Cope with or decode it
Children of the corner
Get no dosage from the club
Club full of killers
Killing Cubs just because
Color is a credible cause
To make the bird caw
Incredible cost to a mother
To get that cursed call
That’s a curb stomp to her
Confidence
That’s as common as condiments
That’s the kind of incompetence
That’ll conjure a conflict
We’re at war with security
After we built the company

What can I say right now that hasn’t already been screamed, cried, shouted, pleaded? As a black women with black brothers and friends and cousins etc. I know all too well how many in this country see and treat us. I’ve heard, seen, experienced my own mistreatment of police officers. And by the grace of God I was able to walk away from those encounters, but obviously not everyone is as fortunate. I attempted to honor just the smallest portion of lives lost in this manner, but drawing a pretty picture isn’t enough. We all need to do our part and take action! Keep scrolling to the second to last page to see what you can do. Please make sure to sign the petition for the officers who murdered George Floyed here https://www.justiceforbigfloyd.com/ so that they can be charged for their actions and please please please spread the word

Django Unchained ⛓
Quentin Tarantino told us a story about a man who, having regained his freedom, did not leave his tormentors without punishment. This cool and inspiring character I chose not by chance.
It’s hard, but I want to talk to you about the terrible tragedy in Mineapolis USA. A cold-blooded killers in police uniform took a person’s life. In broad daylight, not embarrassed by the cameras, not paying attention to the pleas for mercy by a dying person. This story is terrible and I can hardly believe that this is happening in our time, and not somewhere in the Wild West. And the worst thing is that real criminals still have not been punished.
When I watched the George Floyd detention video, I was scared. It was terrible to look into the indifferent empty eyes of his killers, but even worse to look and realize that you see the last minutes of a person’s life.
I do not know if Floyd has committed a real crime. But I know for sure that I cannot believe the words of those who justify the actions of these policemen. And I am absolutely sure that no one deserves such a death.
We live in a strange time, I would say some more a couple of months ago. But no. We live in a terrible time when, using the situation with the epidemic, more and more countries adopt new laws against society, ignoring the interests of citizens. More powers are being given to officials and police. The consequences were not long in coming. Racism, cruelty, injustice - all this will be justified. But only not when people will resist.
New laws, new restrictions, new fines. What is happening can return humanity to tens, hundreds of years ago. Human rights could soon become empty words. They want to forbid us to speak. They want to forbid us to think. They want to forbid us to breathe.
