After several weeks of hanging round the velociraptor enclosure Kakuzu finally catches Hidan’s eye, and after chatting each other up for a few more days they agree to meet for dinner. It’s unfortunate that Kakuzu accidentally booked the novelty family restaurant rather than the more sophisticated place across the square, and that once they’re settled in the conversation turns to the subject of evolution, where they soon discover that their views drastically differ.
Hidan’s so upset he can’t even finish his stegosaurus shaped potato waffle, and Kakuzu finds that creationism is a red line for him, no matter how hot the guy is. They part on extremely bitter terms, both certain they won’t be meeting again in a hurry.
Here, for example, is my first attempt to draw a manga page. This scene is a spoiler for one of the future chapters of my fanfic.
The story is about Nana, a childhood friend of Hidan, who later became an assassin. She and her brother are the last survivors of the Tsukimichi clan, known for their hair control and kenkai genkai techniques. Fate forces them to part for several years, but then Nana makes a deal with Akatsuki - and in the end she still meets her brother. There is only a problem: he believes that his sister has betrayed him, and wants revenge.
Don’t expect any grand gestures or presents from him. At all.
Besides not killing you and suddenly not shooting insults at you like he does with some of the others, there will be very small little things he does for you without drawing any attention to them. If you bring them up then most of the time he will be armed with an excuse.
Fixing your clothes for you. You’ll put on something that was a little ratty and the holes will be fixed. (You would just have to buy a new one and that’s a waste of money, of course.)
Protecting you in a battle that gets over your head. (It would be a pain to replace another member and if you’re injured then they would have to pick up the slack.)
Cuddling? (He is not cuddling, he is sleeping and you’re on him and he’s tired so just stay still and let him rest.)
One of the ways you know he actually likes you is he will help you bargain. It’s a skill he’s spent years honing and he is damn good at it. So if you’re wanting to buy something he will make sure you get a good price, and there isn’t some big excuse for it because if any of the others ask he would value his time over their money. (Bring it up and he will leave you at the shop. So just say thank you and enjoy.)
Kiba. He’s probably the best kind of possessive in that he understands that you talking to some guy doesn’t equal you flirting or you taking an interest in them. But he will wait until later and maybe give you a few little visible bite marks just to make sure anyone around you knows that you’re taken.
Hidan. I feel like Hidan is all or nothing; he’s either on you 24/7 and will shove (or stab) anyone who tries to hit on you or he’s done with you. If he is possessive, he is overly so to the max. Doesn’t like you talking to anyone who isn’t a wrinkly old lady.
Shikamaru. Will not admit to it at all, he thinks even feeling this way is troublesome but he can’t help it. He’s probably the last one to act on it but if you watch him closely when anyone talks to you his eyes are on you dissecting the entire conversation.
Deidara. Once you’re his he might be misinterpreting you talking to any guy. “You didn’t have to ask him for directions.” Might need to have a conversation about this early on before his possessiveness really becomes a problem and he gets huffy if another guy is even around you that is “threatening”.
Kakuzu. (This is a little insight into the story I’m working on for him.) His possessiveness doesn’t come out right away. At first you can come or go for all he cares. But you finally worm your way into his life and you two strike a balance that he’s never experienced before. After you’re attacked and he uses some stitches to fix you up, something changes. Unlike when he’s stitched up his other teammates, this feels like a marking. You’re his now. He’ll run his fingers over the stitches and become a lot more protective and possessive (but have fun trying to get him to admit it).
This is ridiculous how such an awful time organizer as I is simping so hard for such a flawless genious manager as Kakuzu

It’s funny though how both Kakuzu & Zabuza eventually happened to have kind of rocky interaction with Kakashi
With Zabuza doing absolutely badass shit yet still gettigh wrecked, but having beautiful ending, and with Kakuzu almost god damn killing the man if not for the shitty plothole he had instead of the ending
I really hoped I’d be able to update Shinobi Academy of Music this week, but I didn’t quite make it. But I did manage to draw the boys on the cusp of ripping each other’s clothes off in a practice room, so hopefully that’ll make up for it!
