Sketch for a piece I’m working on from a scene in @zombie-honeymoon’sHoneymoon at the Clown Motel. I really like the sketchy feel of it but had to completely rework the line art for colour… so it’s become a separate thing!
General Kakuzu is incensed enough after what went down in the arena that day to follow the emperor into the baths and tell him if he ever pulls a stunt like that again he’s going back to Britain and he can find a new leader for his Praetorian Guard.
But he finds the emperor surprisingly amenable to being told off… He lets him pull him roughly towards him, melts against him, his hand in his hair, his mouth curving in a half smile… and suddenly Kakuzu’s anger is turning into something else…
the new emperor is such a wretched little creature…
General Kakuzu, back from a five-year gruelling campaign in Britain which cost him half his legion, isn’t amused by what’s become of his beloved Rome in his absence. He briefly considers taking his sword to the deranged little tyrant and ending this now, but he’d be unlikely to make it out alive past the Praetorian Guard. He sheathes it again, hissing through his teeth with frustration.
I really hoped I’d be able to update Shinobi Academy of Music this week, but I didn’t quite make it. But I did manage to draw the boys on the cusp of ripping each other’s clothes off in a practice room, so hopefully that’ll make up for it!
After several weeks of hanging round the velociraptor enclosure Kakuzu finally catches Hidan’s eye, and after chatting each other up for a few more days they agree to meet for dinner. It’s unfortunate that Kakuzu accidentally booked the novelty family restaurant rather than the more sophisticated place across the square, and that once they’re settled in the conversation turns to the subject of evolution, where they soon discover that their views drastically differ.
Hidan’s so upset he can’t even finish his stegosaurus shaped potato waffle, and Kakuzu finds that creationism is a red line for him, no matter how hot the guy is. They part on extremely bitter terms, both certain they won’t be meeting again in a hurry.
