If Kakyoin survived Stardust Crusaders he would have helped Josuke and the rest of the team in Diamond is Unbreakable in fights with villains like Angelo and his Aqua Necklace, maybe even with RHCP and Akira since both stands are long distance stands.
He could have been a much bigger help in the final fight with Yoshikage by giving Josuke some long range attacks using Emerald Splash. then finally using Hierophant Green to wrap up Yoshikage so that it and Star Platinum can unleash the killing blow.
