Been playing the original Street Fighter II (I forget which one we had on SNES, but it had Blarog, Vega, and a couple other characters I can’t remember as playable) and I CAN’T BEAT GUILE. Trying to do a run as one single character only (obvious choice being Ken) and soldier boi has been a brick wall. I’ll beat him in one round, and he proceeds to whup my ass in the following….5 to 10 following rounds before I give up and call it a day.
So I drew this to show how I really feel on the inside, despite laughing and cracking comments every time I lose. I definitely remember him being really hard to beat. And yet I flew through the other characters when I was a kid.
Ken is holding a root beer float (little bit of a reference to Wreck-It Ralph, except with the addition of ice cream to help ease those nasty bruises) and Guile has espresso…no idea what his profile means by American coffee being one of his favorite things…. I know there’s MANY FORMS OF COFFEE. I just don’t know what counts as “American”. I normally only order a latte or drink my coffee black. Okay?

To answer a question I saw recently in tags, Ken’s favorite food, originally in Street Fighter II, was spaghetti. And it was changed in later games to just pasta. I guess a way of saying he loves all forms of pasta. His skills also include cooking pasta, so I can see him using friends and family as guinea pigs for any new pasta recipes he finds. Ryu being the best test subject since he’ll eat anything.
The boys are inked in and almost ready for coloring! Just gotta decide on color designs and/or patterns for the bowl and noodle cup.
Also feeling bad because I feel like I did better on Ken than Ryu, the main star of Street Fighter. But that’s just me giving myself some art critique.
WHOOPS. Uhh….here. More up to date Ken. His collar bone looked weird in that last one, so I TRIED to fix it.

Meant to make it look like a casual handshake. But it came out looking like Ryu had a good, tight (pissed off) grip, so changed the scene up a tiny bit.
