The joy of “layering season”—wearing my new Huaraz Hat (pattern by Kirsten Kapur/Through the Loops) and my Chelsea Girl Shawl (pattern by me, available on Etsy or Ravelry).
Knitting a hat in less than a week—yay! (Pompoms weren’t attached or tails woven in yet in this pic, but all done last night.)
A new cast-on for the new week (Huaraz Hat, a cable-knit design by Kirsten Kapur).
Second (and last) weekend of the NYC Yarn Crawl is upon us, so I popped down to West Village Knit & Needle to pick up a few circs and this squishy yarn.
Swatching Saturday …
Guess who finished weaving in all the yarn tails and took this Fine Lines Sweater (not blocked ) out for a spin? - (Pattern is by Versaciknits.)
Happy wool love Wednesday! - Today is cool enough for me to wear my recently finished Lariat sweater (design is by Yamagara). - The narrow cable down the front and striking openwork on the back look even better in person!
And suddenly I’m in the land of sleeves!
Bind-off time (before starting the short sleeves)!
That happy knitting stage of reaching below the armholes!
A week ago, this new design idea wasn’t even an inkling of an idea in my imagination … now it’s a new cast-on and all I want to knit!
Still have to weave in ends and block(yay. ) But after that my part of the coal “Sword of Gryffindor mitts” is done.
Well. Short of weaving in all 70 ends on this thing.(and adjusting dupe stitch tension)
The watermelon hat is now complete.
Well.
Being treated like a pariah at work.
And being blamed for it at home.
But at least the watermelon hat is coming along nicely.
Well.@grungyriotgrrrl is now learning to knit.
I just bought yarn with 45 euros. 12 skeins coming in the mail. Oopsie. I have a plan for one pair of socks with some of the new yarns, rest of them I just felt I needed to buy. :D
