Cowl blocking before moving on to stage 2. With this pattern (Wren by @joallportdesigns) you effectively knit a short lacy scarf, then pick up along one edge and knit a polo neck in the round I like cowls, for keeping me warm in the workshop without dangling into the jaws of the sewing machine.
