I really love the colour inversion on these. I don’t know if it was intentional because I didn’t notice until I was halfway through the second sock, but if so that’s fantastic.

A late 2019 FO which had to be kept secret for a little while - a pair of socks for my housemate made with @lovehandyed’s wonderful Nessie colourway.

I believe this was a yarn dyed specifically for @lochnessknitfest, and was absolutely perfect for my housemate’s birthday present.
.
Note to self though: knitting socks in secret is not as fun as it seems. I ran super close to time with these, and almost resorted to giving one as a birthday present and saving the other for Christmas. Luckily it didn’t come to that!

2020 is the year I get over my fear of wearing knitted sweaters.

I’ve always felt kind of bad about my aversion to knitting sweaters. It just feels like a Thing Knitters Should Do, but several years of acute dysphoria and a general awareness that my body will change, dramatically, somehow, has made the prospect of putting a large amount of time into something that won’t last long and will probably make me feel bad… not a great idea.
.
The hormones have, more or less, made their changes (other than whatever it is they’re doing to my hairline), and I can’t put my life on hold for anything else. I’m tired of running from my dysphoria. 2020 is the year to beat it into submission, one stitch at a time.

December is a time for sock knitting, apparently. These ones are luckily for me.

The yarn is @kelpieknits’ Lochbroom, and I am completely in love with both the colours and the feel - this yarn is squishy and smooth and I just want to rub my face over it, but I know if I do I will poke an eye out. I may need to make myself a scarf out of this base some point soon.

This cardigan uses our ROAN DK for the larger stripe portions of the body and ribbing, and Homestead Sport for the thinner stripes in the body. It is knit flat, using simple raglan increases for shoulder shaping. It is meant to be oversized, so it is suggested to have at least 4-8” of positive ease when choosing a size, but most importantly it is #sizeinclusive!

The smallest Mountain Range Sweater I’ve made!
Unfortunately I was not thinking when I made this commission so I did not write everything down.
I’ve reverted back to make-it-up-as-i-go mode, but I do have the charts, so if there is enough interest I will included it in the Mountain Range Sweater Pattern sizes. Test knitting it will be good practice for my impending baby.

I try to learn something new with each project. This time I’m knitting the sleeves simultaneously… Not sure if I like this method, but it was worth a try.
Finished! After washing and blocking the blanket became very loose so I wouldn’t feel right selling it, but I will be giving it to my next friend who becomes pregnant… Let the games begin.
See the other one in the top left corner? It is exceptionally squishy and warm, but it has an uneven edge. Pictures to come
