#larp gear
Ok today I can share the pretty pictures of my second take of the witcher’s sword scabbard.
Hand tooled, painted and sewn natural leather. Brass fittings. Harness is a part of the set. The scabbard is built on worbla core to fit the blade perfectly and maintain rigidity after being cut open to allow a better drawing angle.
It came out much slimmer than my first attempt at larp scabbard and to be perfectly honest I am very happy with the final outcome. So much in fact that I would keep it for myself if I could ;)
As things stand, I just really hope it will be a good companion on the path.

So chuffed with these two rolls of leather tape… I got all of this from just three little scraps after finding a way to join the straps almost seamlessly ^^
I was worried that I do not have enough to sew it all around the gambeson but it seems that I’ll make do
Gambeson progress: I cut out all of the pieces, put in the rivets and then stitched the back and sides.
For the first time it came out pretty well, however I am bit worried about the head opening - I’m not sure how am I going to put the collar in right now…
But all in all, I am pleased.
On Saturday I was invited to pose for photography workshop as Myra and Yorunn.
I honestly thought I’ll be more uncomfortable with several cameras pointed at me, but I suppose larp kinda teaches you to ignore them
These are just a quick sample from my friend’s husband and he’s complaining they are not on par with the ones Richard usually snaps, but I like them.
They are a bit more like “in-game” photos then all those posed ones and that’s fine. I am just a girl in a costume and it was a learning expierience for the people there.
I think it was a nice change to shoot something else than a wedding because we are invited to participate in another workshop this year.
Also who world have thought that standing around is so tiring
White I am pondering both, leaving tumblr and what the hell am I going to play now that WS is no more, I am still hard at work - I need to bring Neve to life in August. These are hand-quilted gambeson pieces… still need to do two more. Unfortunately my sewing machine is still not listening, but I don’t have the time to figure it out - too many pieces of gear to do.
At least I don’t have the time to mop around as well.
If anyone wants to know this is what obsession looks like - this is my first outfit that is majorly hand made - and I am beyond happy with how it came out.
Myra got a major overhaul - too bad that I will only be able to boast it at a single game.
Well… I can always sign up for another photoshoot.
