All dressed up waiting for my carpool to arrive~
My current viking look and the medieval feast :D
In spite of the weird recipes everything tasted pretty good. I made the bread plates and the far left pie-apple cheese pie- using Tasting History’s recipes on YouTube.
***beware that the recipe in the description is wrong for the bread plate. Video said 2 cups of water, not 2.5. It’s okay as you can add flour until it’s more dough like but it’s annoying. But weirdly that loaf did turn out better than my first so idk…
Feel like I should have a pinned post with info about my patterns and such …

Getting put out by my lack of costume content on what is, in theory, a cosplay account. Marat has rearrived at the front my brain now that it’s the New Year so here’s a shot that didn’t make the initial cut from back in early 2013.
In addition to other Prime Shenanigans slated for 2022 projects, I’m also hoping to do another couple of lewks for him. Design notes from the journal as follows:
- Dressed Down Version to include: night-shirt, stockings, literally slippers, print-shop apron, coat on top, head-scarf (tbh, this feels the most accurate).
- National Convention Version to include: frock coat, breeches, (shitty) stockings, waistcoat (marginally decent), proper shoes actually, accessory pistols (probably).
- Print-Shop Version: shirt that’s Obviously Seen Some Shit, waistcoat made of carpet, maybe apron, some form of pants (optional), ink stains, abused coffee mug.
Updates to follow.
HOW DISNEY USED A REAL MODEL TO DRAW ALICE IN WONDERLAND
Kathryn Beaumont (born 27 June 1938), the actor who voiced both Alice in Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and Wendy in Disney’s Peter Pan, also modeled for the animators. These photos show how much work was put into classical animation at the Disney studio.
Walt Disney chose Beaumont to be the voice of Alice when she was just ten years old. He chose her for the model of Alice. She was named a “Disney Legend” by the Walt Disney Company in 1998.
Made under the supervision of Walt Disney himself (1951), this film and its animation are often regarded as some of the finest work in Disney studio history, despite the lackluster, even hostile, reviews it originally received.
It gained popularity in the 1970’s due to the “drug” culture fandom at the time, it was released in 1974, and then again in 1981.
Today, it is not only considered the best animated film adaptation of Lewis Carrol’s novel but one of Disney’s greatest classics. { 1-10 }
