Illustration commission for the incomparable NotusLethe, from the fic The Silver Gleam of Trees. If you are an RQG fan, or even if you’re not, you should read it–it’s a breathtaking His Dark Materials crossover, featuring Ernest the magpie as Oscar’s daemon. This was an absolute joy to work on and I’m so happy with the end result!

I’m under the impression that you guys really like the Magic!Jason idea. Here are some of the villains I’d imagine him facing up against as a robin, they’re a bit revised from their obscure original outing. The 10 eyed man is a straight up monster that eats eyes. Nocturna is a Vampire heiress that just wants all the money and riches and respect of being an amazing vampiress, Unbelievably vain and greedy and no fucks given about what you think. Lastly Magpie she’s a Harpie, bound to a cruel master and made to steal magical artifacts for them. Just going full supernatural on a couple of canonically lame villains.
If I were to make a batman show with Jason Todd as robin these guys would be the 1st season villians that Batman works with Zatanna and Talia to sort out., While Jason is still a very young robin. As he gets older the crimes get nastier where the demons get terrifying and criminals get really cruel.
Enjoyed our trip to wild touch animal rescue centre to rehome Honey’s snake Kai and see the wonderful assortment of animals they have there. The foxes which you never see this close so that was a treat, the one winged heron we thought was fake because it stood so still, the world’s most obnoxious tortoise that seemed to like getting himself into predicaments and the magpie that seemed so proud of the fact she has a monster munch as well as a variety of birds and reptiles. Hello everyone! This piece was inspired by the fic “Magpie”, from the “Wings of Freedom” series, written by the incredibly talented @sugarplum-senpai. Her writing was shown to me by one of my dearest friends and it single-handedly got me into AoT again, and with a brand new ship to top it all off :p

here are some rules and other info:
-the character designs aren’t completely permanent, you are allowed to change small things about them but drastic changes in shape and patterns are discouraged.
-personal bio information about the characters such as age, gender, background history, is free to be whatever you wish :) there are no set genders or background stories for them.
-the first one is a hybrid of some sort of sheep, caribou earth spirit thing i guess lol but you can change the earth spirit part. I just incorporated earth element for the design purpose
-the dragon is a mix of an eastern dragon and a pheasant, the electricity as it’s skill/power can’t be changed but it doesn’t have to have electricity shown on it all the time.
-the dog is a shiba inu with red panda like markings, it has magpie wings and the sakura blossoms bloom wherever it’s feet step.
if you have any other information about the characters feel free to ask :) though you’re pretty much free to do what you want once payment is received.

Small dragon species and corvids occasionally engage in trade with each other. Magpies have learned that dragons desire gold more than anything, and so they can fetch a hefty price for it!

Little magpie I see so many of these guys everyday and the rhyme gets stuck in my head (and once I finished painting I got superstitious and sketched a few more magpies just in case )

I was asked to do a bird version of Herlock Sholmes, making him the first Great Ace Attorney character with a bird form.
He is a Eurasian Magpie (pica pica); a bird found in England that is both celebrated for its intelligence AND known for being the name origin of the mental illness “pica”, which is the compulsion to eat things that are not food.
I had absolutely none of the right colors for this cuz I’m currently broke hahahhhhh. I apologize for it being ugly. I’m making some keychains so maybe you can buy some of those so I can actually afford more art supplies and maybe food and stuff heh.
One of my goals for my next convention is to have a banner, so I threw together this little painting <3

While I was prepping the cushions for this bench, I realized we haven’t showed y’all the slat bed design!

Throughout the build we have applied #permaculture principles to our design… namely: Stacking Functions.
.
Now, we can all agree that aesthetics will always count as a function (because art enhances a space so much!!), but we hope to make sure that every element of #magpiethebus is also dynamic & multifunctional.
.
This design incorporated:
1) couch/bench seating for 1-4
2) instrument storage underneath
3) pull-out slat bed (about twin size but better than nothing for our guests)
4) shoe and miscellaneous storage on the end
5) end piece will also serve as an arm rest and cup holders… stay tuned to see how the end piece “stacks” even more functions…
6) oh yeah, and it doesn’t look too shabby does it? Wait till those cushions are on there
