Okay, see, I love Lister’s reaction here for so many reasons…
One of them being that Lister technically did kill Rimmer’s brother Howard. In Trojan when Simulant Crawford holds them all hostage and threatens to shoot if anyone moves, Lister jumps to answer the phone, so she shoots, and Howard jumps in the way to save Rimmer and dies…yall
The way Rimmer spits all over and back into this cup and Lister immediately drinks from it and Rimmer is probably so disgusted but too exhausted to even say anything about it has me dying

when Rimmer loses his anger, he calls him David. when Rimmer loses his bitterness, he calls him Dave

honestly, this probably means nothing, but it feels noteworthy
