Seikima-II - Jack the Ripper (live)
The song starts at around 3:16.
Just to really drive home how great this band is, here is a track from their heavy metal material. This video was from one of their reunion tours. You can tell because they have like… 5 guitarists?! And, of course, they all get to take a solo… which becomes a really chaotic and fun part of this video.
My favorite part is at 7:48 where Luke takes a second solo and he just totally fucks around. He looks like he’s having so much fun here and it’s totally infectious. His facial expressions at that moment are what live music is all about. That energy!
Seikima-II - Ratsbane (live)
This is all I care about these days. This is my favorite Japanese band by far. Like, it isn’t even close. I would easily classify these guys as being one of the greatest hard rock / heavy metal bands of all time. I seriously adore everything about them.
Ratsbane is a peculiar song in their catalogue. It’s from their hard rock era and its probably their only song with overt jazz influences. The solo section on this track is just so awesome and fun.
