a mdzs character each day of the week

domestic saturday vibes with song lan

  • Song Lan was not usually home
  • his work took him to many places
    • sometimes there’d be days, even a whole week where you guys would go without seeing each other
    • and the loneliness of your shared apartment
      • was something that you would have, sadly, gotten used to
  • which is why
  • when you wake up to the smell of something good coming from the kitchen
    • you more then surprised
      • and the sight that greets you when you walk into the kitchen
      • Song Lan in his laid back clothes,
      • hair still ruffled,
        • donning your pink flowery apron
          • makes your heart skip a beat
      • he’s plating a very delicious breakfast when you take quiet steps behind him
      • and Song Lan nearly drops the pan when you wrap your arms around his waist from behind, nuzzling your face against his t-shirt
        • “you’re home,” you say, a bit of wonderment in your voice
          • i miss you, Song Lan knows that you mean
        • at the tone of your voice, Song Lan lets out a soft kind of melancholy laugh,
          • he wishes he were home more, so you wouldn’t have to sound like that
        • Song Lan places the pan down and turns around in your arms,
          • stares down at you as if he’s taking in the sight of you for the first time
            • even after having been together for a while,
            • his stare still makes your heart beat too loudly in your chest
              • and your cheeks burn, thinking to yourself what a sight you must be, having just woken up and bleary eyed
              • you’re moving back in embarrassment,
            • when Song Lan’s hands come up to your face,
            • squish your cheeks in his warm palms
          • capture your lips as he leans down,
            • with a kiss that says,
            • i miss you a million times more

weekday series (friday)

a mdzs character each day of the week

fridaynight subway rides with wei wuxian

  • your friday nights would always be busy because
  • Wei Wuxian, ever the party animal
  • would take you to all the hottest spots that he knows in the city
  • you won’t ever have to worry about being bored
  • because aside from knowing well all the attractions available
  • he, himself, also has a knack for just attracting well, weird?
  • chaotic
  • energy
  • the subway this time of night, nearing the turn of the new day
  • is still pretty full of people
  • you let out a little startled breath, as Wei Wuxian pulls you close to him,
  • just barely missing the subway performer’s trick on the bars close by
  • leaned this close to him, with his arms practically wrapped around you
  • you can feel his heart beat against the shakes of the subway
  • and it’s easily to hear his laughter despite the mask that he’s wearing
  • “nearly got your head knocked off,” Wei Wuxian teases you when the performers have left the train at the next station
  • though he can’t see the full extent of your expression, he can imagine that you are scrunching your nose up at him
  • and maybe because the hour is late,
  • and you’re both pretty tired from a whole night spent on the town
  • but Wei Wuxian hugs you closer,
  • rests his head on top of yours, fit perfectly under his chin
  • and because you’re tired too
  • you let him
  • and the train that you’re riding on, lull you

a mdzs character each day of the week

wednesday evening after class, with lan wangji

  • the evening night is chill in autumn
  • but warmer, is the presence that always waits for you when you finish your classes
    • walking out of your lecture after a long day,
    • and seeing Lan Wangji sat, reading a book on one of the seats in the hallway
    • is a sight that gives you a lot of momentum
      • now that september has creeped in, and the night gets dark faster, easier
      • it feels nice to have company on the walk to the train station
    • you walk up quietly to Lan Wangji’s sat form, as he seems quite immersed in whatever it is that he is reading
    • and when you get close enough,
      • you give a small kick against his shoes
      • Lan Wangji looks up immediately,
        • though the cold look in his eyes warms ever so slightly when he sees that it is just you,
    • “did you wait long?” you ask him, when Lan Wangji finishes putting his book away and standing up
    • your companion silently shakes his head,
      • and holds his hand out as he does
      • you smile at Lan Wangji, taking off your decidedly heavy backpack for him to carry for you
        • although Lan Wangji was cold,
        • his actions were more than warm
          • especially when he accompanies you all the way to your destination
          • his presence by your side
          • chases all the cool autumn air away

a mdzs character each day of the week

tuesday mornings with nie huaisang

  • mornings were quite the hassle for both of you
    • between your usual lateness
    • and Huaisang’s natural forgetfulness
      • you both were quite the duo
  • being roommates, you both know each other’s schedules/routines quite
    • firstly (mainly) so that you guys don’t annoy each other
    • secondly, so that you guys can help each other out
  • and even though you’re room mates with Huaisang,
  • sometimes it feels like you’re his mom
    • “did you bring everything? have your keys?” you ask as you’re standing in the foyer, watching Huaisang try to stuff his feet in his shoes as quickly as possible
    • while the messenger bag that he has looks like it’s two seconds from toppling over and spilling everything out
    • “probably,” Huaisang tells you and you can’t help but laugh at him
    • “i told you, i have a dinner tonight; if you’re getting locked out i’m not opening the door,” you tell him and Huaisang pouts at you,
      • then quickly stands up and fixes the bag on his shoulder
    • “all the more reason for me to stay out later right? if we come home at the same time i won’t be locked out?”
      • idiot, just bring your own keys,” you tell Huaisang, pushing him gently as you both make your way out of the apartment,
        • even then,
        • when you’re just finishing locking up the door, you hear the (expected) startled yelp as Huaisang launches himself onto your back
        • “i forgot my water bottle!” Huaisang yelps at you, and you turn around just to give him an eyebrow raise
        • “well you’re going to have to deal with being thirsty all day,” you tell him, hooking your arm around his neck as you drag him away from the apartment
          • though you prove yourself a great room mate ( a great friend)
          • when you hand him an extra water bottle as you both are sitting waiting for the next bus

a mdzs character each day of the week

monday lunch with lan xichen <3

  • working at the same company with one another, in the same department,
  • you tend to see Lan Xichen very often
  • you didn’t think that you would ever get a chance to get close to him though
    • because aside from being the most handsome man on the team
    • he was a seasoned senior of the company as well,
      • had better things to do than make friends with new hires like you
      • but you learn of the kindness of this senior
      • when would help you out on project proposals, at the first ask
      • stay late with you on some nights when the workload was a bit too much for you to handle
    • and from all those little occurrences,
    • you both develop a nice friendship
      • which is why mondays, don’t feel quite so bad
        • because mondays, are when you get lunch with Xichen
        • it’s the time in his schedule that coincides with yours the most
        • and you both can meet each other on the break,
          • go to that salad bar or any new place that Xichen has been eying
            • and it wouldn’t be a date per say
            • but it’s just, comfortable
            • you’re both comfortable with one another to smile and laugh and have a shared time with each other like this
          • sat in front of Lan Xichen,
          • watching his ‘sacred’ process of drizzling the dressing on his salad with ‘just the right amount’,
            • “it’s quite an important part, y/n, don’t laugh” Xichen would tell you when you make fun of him
              • and mondays, starting the week with Xichen make everything better

how these mdzs characters walked through your life

Wen Ning +..。*゚+

  • Wen Ning is on the verge of losing his job when he first meets you,
  • his first day at the cafe had been anything but smooth
    • he’s got a a funny splotch of powder on his cheek
    • and an angry red burn on on the top of his hand to show for it
      • his manager breathing down his neck as she supervises makes everything 10 times harder
    • but when he looks him,
    • catches your amused but patient look as you watch him finish your order
  • it eases his nerves ever so slightly
  • and the calm and pleasant smile that you wear when he gives you your order
  • lingers in his mind long after the ring from the cash register fades
    • after the fiasco of his first day,
    • it work at the cafe gets a lot better,
    • maybe it had just been nerves
      • because Wen Ning easily begins to
    • but maybe he was right about it having to do with nerves
    • because it seems that Wen Ning forgets how to do anything
    • whenever you’re within the vicinity
      • the next time (and every time) you return to the cafe shop
    • Wen Ning finds himself stuttering as he asks you for your order
    • and cheeks getting warm just at the brush of your hand against his as he gives you the change
  • it’s an endearing thing
    • and something that you definitely notice
      • because he’s so obvious about it
    • though you don’t confront it,
    • too afraid to make it awkward
      • a little afraid to lose the nice smile that he gives you every time he finishes your order
          • so you don’t say anything
  • you both keep your quiet
    • you in your own little way, afraid that he won’t like you anymore
    • Wen Ning because he likes you too much and afraid of the same thing
      • the shyness of you both ends up being the rift that stops sparks before they fly
        • and eventually when your boss changes you to a different department in the building, you don’t come around on Wen Ning’s shifts anymore
        • and this little affectionate cup of coffee feels just like strong coffee should
          • bitter, but with a sweetness of roasted coffee beans
            • love that could have been, in a little coffee shop

how these mdzs characters walk in and out of your life

Lan Jingyi 。.。:∞♡*♥

  • you had never seen Jingyi as a lover,
  • not at first
    • he had always been your friend
    • and with how you both grew up clashing rather than caring,
    • it was hard to picture him as someone you would hold hands with
  • but Jingyi’s heart had always beat differently from the words he tells you
  • and after a stupid game of spin the bottle
    • and standing the closest you have ever stood next to him in 7 minutes in heaven
      • you both have a realization on your feelings for one another
  • it was a weird transition,
  • knowing friendship better than a relationships
    • (you were Jingyi’s first ever real partner)
      • hesitant hand holds
      • those shy looks,
        • the tentative brushing of a loose strand of hair
      • and small gestures of new love
    • there was potential between both of you
  • but then again, it was really only potential
  • after a few weeks,
    • you realize that even though Jingyi really likes you
      • he’s unable to act naturally around you, like he used to when you both had just been friends
    • and after a mutual discussion
    • you both decide that it’s better if you go back to being friends,
    • because skittering eyes
      • and skittish hands
        • wasn’t really yours or Jingyi’s style
        • most importantly
          • you missed him
          • the carefree-ness that he shared with you
          • before the expectation of being a boyfriend to you
    • so you both return to the friendship that you started with
      • perhaps, now, there are more lingering gazes,
    • but nonetheless
  • there are more smiles, twinkling eyes and less awkward anxious gazes
  • platonic love, matching the rhythm of your steps
  • as he walks you to your classes
  • (because he still does)

how these mdzs characters walked through your life

Ouyang Zizhen 。.。:∞♡*♥

  • being with Zizhen was one of the more romantic experiences that you’ve had the pleasure of coming across
  • because, well, Zizhen was (and has) always been known for being absolutely romantic
  • with him, it was a picturesque kind of relationship,
  • from the very beginning
    • a meeting so trope-y (dropping books on the way to your class) that sometimes you forget that it was something that actually happened
  • into the honey moon phase,
    • roses on the random day
    • waiting for each other at the end of class
    • sharing sweaters,
      • kisses,
      • hand holding
  • being with Zizhen was so soft, so romantic
    • romance as much as it colors, never quite diminishes reality
  • so as days and weeks pass
  • the gestures feel less romantic,
    • feel a bit more dramatic than the butterflies of before
    • take up a lot more space than you think is necessary
      • being with Zizhen made you feel the child-like wonder of love
      • but also made you realize that it didn’t last
        • you both break it off on a sunny afternoon at a small coffee shop
      • and even though you both aren’t together anymore,
      • you still end on good terms, better terms
      • that remind you that platonic love, isn’t lacking of romantic love at all
    • and so with a small wave of goodbye, Zizhen walks out of your life after the 3 months that’d spent in it,
    • it was lovely,
    • it was puppy love,
      • but you were loved nonetheless

these mdzs characters wake up from a bad dream, and the first person they want to see is you

Lan Xichen

  • it is always the same sight,
  • the same blood on his hands,
    • the same cold hilt of the sword,
    • the same force of a push that sends him back, far away, falling into an abyss of darkness
  • it is the same image that resides in his eyes, every single time he wakes up
  • when Lan Xichen blinks himself awake, he can’t ignore the tears that are already rolling down his face, the lump in throat that he tries to choke down
    • but it still makes his breath hitch with the effort,
    • as his eyes adjust to the dark, because he is now wide awake,
    • he feels the warmth of a small hand on his chest,
      • Xichen turns slowly, eyes landing and making out the picture of your still sleeping face
      • Xichen’s hand finds yours, interlocks your fingers together
      • your hand in his grounds him, even in your sleep
        • Xichen turns fully to face you, his free arm reaching out to you
      • he brings you to rest in his arms, comforting himself with your closeness,
    • you fit into his arms perfectly,
    • face nuzzling into his inner robes,
      • Xichen leans his head against the top of your head, takes in the soft scent of you beside him, around him, always with him
        • with the lingering scent of the Hanshi intermixed with you, Xichen finds sleep again

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Jiang Cheng

  • it is a sad thought to realize,
  • but Jiang Cheng doesn’t remember the time before the night terrors occurred
  • they are not always the same sights, or fears
    • but they are always terrifying, unresolved,
      • always angry
      • sad,
      • malicious
      • hateful to him
        • perhaps it is a mirror of his subconsciousness
  • Jiang Cheng wakes up painfully,
    • he sits up quickly in bed,
    • sweat dotting his brow,
      • a shaking in his hands that he can’t stop,
      • a heart beat so erratic that he would have thought that his organs were giving up on him,
        • “A-Cheng,”
          • the sound of your voice feels distant even though you both share the same bed,
      • he feels the blankets rustle, he’s scared that you are leaving him, just as everyone had
      • just as everyone else already did
    • before you know it, Jiang Cheng reaches out, grabs onto your arm,
  • you’re pulled roughly into a tight hug,
  • one where Jiang Cheng locks his tense arms so tightly around you you’re nearly suffocating,
    • one where he buries his face into your neck
      • one where you feel his warm tears, drip drip drip against your skin
      • “you have me, i’m right here, A-Cheng
      • “i’m right here,”
        • it takes a moment, a long quiet moment
        • but you always patient for him, and slowly his arms around you loosen to a breathable strength,
        • one that frees your arms so that they can hug him and run your hand up and down his back,
      • you place a featherlight kiss upon the top of his head,
    • hold him even as his body shakes with the silent tears that leak out of his eyes
  • you hold him even when dawn breaks across the horizon
  • you would hold him forever

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Xue Yang

  • he rarely feels guilty
  • but Xue Yang still has a conscience
    •  so all the blood,
    • splattered, puddled, pooled into things that had to be done,
    • usually tucked safely away
  • sometimes make their appearance after a particularly hard day,
    • when all his energy is drained,
      • where Xue Yang feels the most vulnerable,
        • sleep passes by in a wink, if he even managed to sleep at all
        • which is why when he closes his eyes,
        • the nightmare comes back after a long time
      • feels the pain rupture from his fingers all the way down his arm like the very first time,
      • feels the angry, the sadness churn and take him whole
        • Xue Yang had always been too rational to believe in spirits, but they come to him now,
        • all the people that he’d killed merciless
          • he’s begging for mercy
    • “Xue Yang,”
        • he should know better than anyone, that the dead don’t stay dead
    • “Xue Yang-”
      • you let out a startled breath when Xue Yang’s holds a knife up in defense before his eyes are even fully open
  • at the sight of you, Xue Yang’s own teary eyes meet your surprised stare,
  • he’s frozen at the sight of his blade pointed at you
    • but you are calm, undeterred,
    • gentle as you lower his hand, remove the weapon and place it to the side
      • your actions are slow, deliberate, even the hand that lands softly on his face
        • at your warm palm on his face, Xue Yang deflates against the headboard, hands coming up to over lap and hold your
          • little does he know that he doesn’t have to hold to you,
          • when you would never leave him anyways

mdzs characters reacting to when you change your perfume

**✿❀ ❀✿**

Jiang Cheng

  • you are standing alone, watching the boats along the riverside pier,
  • when arms come up to wrap around you,
    • and you feel someone’s chin land on your shoulder,
      • before you can even share a word,
      • there is a firm kiss pressed against the bottom of your neck,
    • “Jiang Cheng,” you breathe, surprise and happiness mixing together in a blissful utterance
    • there is a soft pause where only the wind responds with a caress of your cheek
    • and then you feel Jiang Cheng’s lips against the bottom of your neck, slowly making its way up,
      • “Jiang Cheng,” you can’t help but scold slightly, note the public setting that you both are in,
      • at your second call of his name, the Sect Leader spins you around to face him,
      • brackets you against the wooden rail of the pier
        • “your fault,” Jiang Cheng tells you and you can’t help but smile at his childish words,
        • can’t stop him when he leans in to pull you in a deep hug, nosing at the juncture of your neck
        • “you smell nice,” his lips murmur against your skin
        • and you hug him tighter,
          • glad that he loved the new scent of lotuses and lavendar etched onto your skin

**✿❀ ❀✿**

Xue Yang

  • familiar scents, sentimentality would surprisingly be something that Xue Yang was attentive to
    • so when he comes to meet you at the inn hall that you both always meet at,
    • he is surprised
      • he’d become used to the natural scent that he had connected to you, earthy and herbal from your work at your father’s medicine shop
    • but today,
    • when Xue Yang gets a whiff of something sweet, floral, and looks up to see you approaching
    • his eyes widen along with an interesting smirk,
      • “this is new,” Xue Yang comments when you both sit down at the shared table
      • and you give him a questioning look,
      • “cherry blossoms,” he notes, and you watch him take an exaggerated breath of the air around you,
        • “cherry blossom…” Xue Yang says
        • and your eyes widen at his attention,
          • you had just tried a new perfume of cherry blossoms and ylang ylang
        • and you didn’t that it would make much of a difference
        • or mask the scents of all the herbs that you brewed in the medicine shop
    • but surprisingly to Xue Yang
    • somehow it had

Nie Mingjue

  • Mingjue sits on the bed, watching you by your vanity
  • the night routines that he shares with you are the most relaxing moments of his day,
    • he can name practically all the steps that you take by heart
  • which is why when you return to bed with him,
    • he can immediately tell that something is different
      • “y/n, you smell like jasmine,” Mingjue comments right away as you lay in his arms
      • “yes, i finished the perfume you bought me a few days earlier, we can go back to buy it again,” you tell him,
    • but your surpised by Mingjue’s strong hold around you, and the gentle kiss that he presses to the crown of your head
  • “i like this scent, soothing,” Mingjue tells you and you smile, leaning on his chest,
    • “mhm,” you hum,
    • happy to provide this bit of care and love
    • to your hard working husband

  • far from the blob on the wall
    • he’s running to your side with the loudest scream, even though the spider is not anywhere near him
    • “my hero,” you can’t help but sarcastically note as Wei Wuxian joins you in the table that you’re currently on top of
      • you blow a breath out of your mouth, summon your courage and take the broom that you’ve been holding
      • sweep it against the corner of the wall where the spider is
      • it skitters a few haste steps
      • you both scream
    • and honestly, new apartment vibes
    • it’s a bit embarrassing to admit but you both spend the afternoon hostage on the table in your own apartment
  • luckily Jiang Cheng pays a visit later on
    • and he’s fussing calling you both babies
    • but at least the spider’s gone

*:..。o○ ○o。..:*゚

Lan Wangji

  • you would all think that he would have a calm time removing it
  • i think he’d be a little worried about it escaping the little contraption that he made to capture it
    • but as a Lan,
      • the cringe from his side is only barely noticeable
    • you hide behind him the whole time,
    • until the very second that he flings the little critter out from the plastic cup out the window,
      • with less grace than you had expected
      • but honestly, it’s a spider
      • so you don’t hold it against him
        • “thank you,” you tell him, finally letting out a breath of relief now that the spider was far far away
      • now you could finally get back to work in peace
      • only, just as you’re turning away
      • you feel a tug on your arm
    • you look up to see Lan Wangji giving his cheek to you,
    • “thank me,” you hear him saying, surprisingly coy
      • and you make a face at him, but press a quick peck on his cheek before quickly leaving
    • and Lan Wangji smiles, the smallest of lifts at the edge of his lips

      • lets out the biggest sigh of relief and actually deflates on the couch next to you
      • you hurry to close the window, taking your chances
        • “phew that was so tiring,” Huaisang says and you can’t help but roll your eyes at him
        • “you didn’t even do anything!”

    • for so much discourse and thoughts that make him wish that sleepiness were not a human feeling
      • but alas it is,
        • and when Wei Wuxian had returned to the room with a new warm brew of tea,
          • with the intent of continuing his late night talk with you
        • he finds you fast asleep, head pillowed on arms that had finally given up the weight of holding your head up for the past hour or so
          • (Wei Wuxian knew you had been sleepy, but somehow, loves the sight of you almost reanimated as you talk about new to cultivation techniques and everything he had always been curious about)
        • Wei Wuxian is quiet when he approaches your sleeping form, tempted to shake you awake
          • a small probe of your shoulder, tells him that you are truly deeply, asleep
            • judging from the greyish hues of the sky,
            • it would be morning soon anyways
      • Wei Wuxian turns back to you, curious as to how you could possibly be comfortable
      • and before he really thinks about it (thinks too much about it)
      • he maneuvers your sleeping form into his arms,
    • your head falls onto his shoulder, fitting right under his chin like you were always meant to fit there,
      • and your breath is soft and warm as he carries you the few short steps to place you on the bed in the other room,
        • Wei Wuxian watches with a funny kind of fondness when you snuggle into the pillows as he pulls the blankets higher up on your chin
          • finds that when he returns to sit at his table and closes his eyes
            • he sees you in his dreams

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* Jiang Cheng *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

  • above you both, the sky stretches out like a dark blanket,
  • bits of embedded stars glimmer
  • and the world seems so vast in this moment
  • it is a sight to behold
    • and the day’s tiredness bleeds away from his shoulders,
    • when Jiang Cheng sits at the open port,
    • with you leaning close to him,
      • staring up at the same sky
      • you, the person that had always extended a hand to him,
        • tried to see what he was seeing,
        • what he meant,
          • the person that always met him in the middle,
          • even at times, when he didn’t always walk towards you
        • you never gave up on him
      • and it was a gradual but deep reassurance
      • that came over him like the way snow falls to the ground
    • “i love you,” Jiang Cheng says, a testament, a confession that finally comes out of his mouth after years and years
      • Jiang Cheng says it in a bit of an absent way, only because he doesn’t know how you react,
      • scared that everything will change with this one step too far
        • but when Jiang Cheng hears nothing, and turn to the side
        • he only see you, eyes closed, head resting warmly on the side of his shoulder
          • it makes him smile despite himself,
          • and although the night sky is beautiful, the changing seasons make the evening a bit colder than usual
            • so even though you don’t hear those words from him (yet)
            • you receive an action with the same meaning,
            • his arms coming up to gently cradle you, and carry you away from the ports back to you room,
              • where each step is quiet, mindful, not to wake you
                • and when he tucks you under the covers, it is with more care than anyone has ever expected of him
            • but you (only you) know
            • that Jiang Cheng has more than enough love
            • more than most would know

how these mdzs characters would take care of you on your period

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ Wen Ning ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆

  • surprisingly, or not, i think that he would be quite good at this
  • not just because he has an older sister
    • (so he has experience~)
  • but also because his demeanor is so calm and soft almost always
    • so he’d be the greatest person to deal with you when your mood swings hit
      • and also would be patient enough to go to the store and get you the exact brand of chocolate that you were craving that particularly hard day
    • and an extra plus would be how prepared he is
      • with his heat packs,
        • soft pillows,
          • extra blankets and all
  • he really does take care of you in the time where you aren’t your best
  • and deals with everything that gets thrown at him (from names, to pillows) graciously
    • and when you’re feeling better after your cycle’s finished,
      • you easily can easily return the favor

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚  Nie Mingjue ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆

  • way out of his depths
    • i think that one of the hardest things for him, would be to see his loved ones in pain
    • like that alone sets him off
      • but
      • well,
        • periods are usually painful
    • the first time he sees how much pain you’re in, he’s actually so seriously concerned that attempts to drive you to the ER
  • but after being together for a little over a year now,
    • he’s gotten to know about this aspect of you better
    • still doesn’t make his heart ache any less when your cramps are so bad that you have to lay in bed all day
      • but he does his best
      • and he really does pull through,
        • even when you ask him to do what you thought was nearly the impossible
      • “is this it?”
        • laying in bed you hear the crackling of the phone as your boyfriend is probably rummaging through the whole feminine care aisle at the store, looking for your pads
      • “yea that one,” you tell him, surprised that he actually found it,
        • “alright, just wanted to make sure”
          • and you realize that Nie Mingjue really does pay a lot more attention to you than you thought
            • “you’re the best,” you tell him, as he’s walking to the front of the store,
            • from your facetime, you see the smallest hit of a smile on his face before he says,
              • “get some rest, i’ll be home soon,”
            • and really you couldn’t have asked for a better boyfriend

Wei Wuxian

  • you don’t like fighting with Wei Wuxian
  • because he’s just stubborn
    • and he’s a lot louder than you
  • so when you guys fight, it takes a toll on you more than it does him
  • usually when it came to disagreements with you two it was usually this:
    • when he was overworking himself,
      • “you’re tired,” you state bluntly, to his back
      • Wei Wuxian bent over some scroll on the table, uses his first tactic which is ignoring you
      • you sigh, going up behind him to take his scroll away when his arm comes up to block you
      • you take in an annoyed breath as a soft tussle breaks out between both of you,
        • that ends when you manage to push his scroll onto the floor,
        • his eyes are ablaze when they turn to meet you,
        • “y/n,” he says your full name,
        • “wei wuxian,” you reply just as evenly, feeling his warm grip on your wrist,
      • the silence between you both is cold
    • and he’s not usually easy to rile up
    • but such turbulent emotions were part of the demonic cultivation
    • as you both are trading words between one another, his grip on your risk grows tighter as the words grow louder
    • and it’s really only when you let out a surprised yelp of pain that he realizes he’d hurt you
      • Wei Wuxian drops your wrist like burned,
        • doesn’t forget that your eyes aren’t brimming with tears from his tight hold
        • rather,
          • who he’s become

Xue Yang

  • ironically verbal fighting with him tends to manifest into actually like sword fighting
  • cause he’s the type to go, “okay, let’s spar, if you lose, you listen to me”
    • “and what if you lose?” you answer back
    • and he’ll simply shrug
      • and sure, arguments over who should hang the laundry,
      • what to buy at the market
      • little things,
      • can be decided like that
        • but not when arguments are bigger, more serious, like…
    • “this is wrong,” you tell Xue Yang, standing to the side as you watch him pack the poisonous powder into his small back pack,
    • “they deserve it,” is his terse reply
    • “but you’re not god, you can’t decide whether they get to live or die-”
    • you see Xue Yang is beginning to leave
    • and in a last ditch effort, you grab his arm before he can truly turn away from you,
      • “please, don’t do this,” the tears sting your eyes, but you don’t dare to let them fall,
      • Xue Yang turns around
      • he blinks at you, takes in the look on your face
      • then he moves your hand off of his arm,
      • turns away without looking back,
        • because you were naive to think
        • that just because he was good to you
        • that he would be a good person
