a mdzs character each day of the week

domestic saturday vibes with song lan

  • Song Lan was not usually home
  • his work took him to many places
    • sometimes there’d be days, even a whole week where you guys would go without seeing each other
    • and the loneliness of your shared apartment
      • was something that you would have, sadly, gotten used to
  • which is why
  • when you wake up to the smell of something good coming from the kitchen
    • you more then surprised
      • and the sight that greets you when you walk into the kitchen
      • Song Lan in his laid back clothes,
      • hair still ruffled,
        • donning your pink flowery apron
          • makes your heart skip a beat
      • he’s plating a very delicious breakfast when you take quiet steps behind him
      • and Song Lan nearly drops the pan when you wrap your arms around his waist from behind, nuzzling your face against his t-shirt
        • “you’re home,” you say, a bit of wonderment in your voice
          • i miss you, Song Lan knows that you mean
        • at the tone of your voice, Song Lan lets out a soft kind of melancholy laugh,
          • he wishes he were home more, so you wouldn’t have to sound like that
        • Song Lan places the pan down and turns around in your arms,
          • stares down at you as if he’s taking in the sight of you for the first time
            • even after having been together for a while,
            • his stare still makes your heart beat too loudly in your chest
              • and your cheeks burn, thinking to yourself what a sight you must be, having just woken up and bleary eyed
              • you’re moving back in embarrassment,
            • when Song Lan’s hands come up to your face,
            • squish your cheeks in his warm palms
          • capture your lips as he leans down,
            • with a kiss that says,
            • i miss you a million times more

a mdzs character each day of the week

tuesday mornings with nie huaisang

  • mornings were quite the hassle for both of you
    • between your usual lateness
    • and Huaisang’s natural forgetfulness
      • you both were quite the duo
  • being roommates, you both know each other’s schedules/routines quite
    • firstly (mainly) so that you guys don’t annoy each other
    • secondly, so that you guys can help each other out
  • and even though you’re room mates with Huaisang,
  • sometimes it feels like you’re his mom
    • “did you bring everything? have your keys?” you ask as you’re standing in the foyer, watching Huaisang try to stuff his feet in his shoes as quickly as possible
    • while the messenger bag that he has looks like it’s two seconds from toppling over and spilling everything out
    • “probably,” Huaisang tells you and you can’t help but laugh at him
    • “i told you, i have a dinner tonight; if you’re getting locked out i’m not opening the door,” you tell him and Huaisang pouts at you,
      • then quickly stands up and fixes the bag on his shoulder
    • “all the more reason for me to stay out later right? if we come home at the same time i won’t be locked out?”
      • idiot, just bring your own keys,” you tell Huaisang, pushing him gently as you both make your way out of the apartment,
        • even then,
        • when you’re just finishing locking up the door, you hear the (expected) startled yelp as Huaisang launches himself onto your back
        • “i forgot my water bottle!” Huaisang yelps at you, and you turn around just to give him an eyebrow raise
        • “well you’re going to have to deal with being thirsty all day,” you tell him, hooking your arm around his neck as you drag him away from the apartment
          • though you prove yourself a great room mate ( a great friend)
          • when you hand him an extra water bottle as you both are sitting waiting for the next bus

a mdzs character each day of the week

monday lunch with lan xichen <3

  • working at the same company with one another, in the same department,
  • you tend to see Lan Xichen very often
  • you didn’t think that you would ever get a chance to get close to him though
    • because aside from being the most handsome man on the team
    • he was a seasoned senior of the company as well,
      • had better things to do than make friends with new hires like you
      • but you learn of the kindness of this senior
      • when would help you out on project proposals, at the first ask
      • stay late with you on some nights when the workload was a bit too much for you to handle
    • and from all those little occurrences,
    • you both develop a nice friendship
      • which is why mondays, don’t feel quite so bad
        • because mondays, are when you get lunch with Xichen
        • it’s the time in his schedule that coincides with yours the most
        • and you both can meet each other on the break,
          • go to that salad bar or any new place that Xichen has been eying
            • and it wouldn’t be a date per say
            • but it’s just, comfortable
            • you’re both comfortable with one another to smile and laugh and have a shared time with each other like this
          • sat in front of Lan Xichen,
          • watching his ‘sacred’ process of drizzling the dressing on his salad with ‘just the right amount’,
            • “it’s quite an important part, y/n, don’t laugh” Xichen would tell you when you make fun of him
              • and mondays, starting the week with Xichen make everything better

long awaited jiang cheng happiness continuation, better known as the ‘jin ling momming hcs” (i sincerely love that)

catch up on the first parts here: part I,part II

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

  • it must have been fact
  • but, Jiang Cheng loved you
    • he wouldn’t know when it started
    • or how it came to be
  • but in this instance,
  • the present
    • right now
      • he sees that he loves you
  • Jiang Cheng should have known better that just saying “no” wouldn’t be enough to stop his hard-headed nephew
    • and even more stubborn assistant (you)
      • the monster on tonight’s night hunt was a notoriously fierce demon dog,
      • blood thirsty and fearless,
      • it was not a night hunt to have children in attendance
        • yet somehow,
        • here Jin Ling was,
          • you in tattered robes near by
      • the demon dog lunges, it’s jaws snapping wildly,
        • Zidan lights the forest night purple, the demon dog knocked back with a force of electricity and his own human anger,
        • his accompanying disciples through their demon nets on the wounded demon, making quick work of subduing it in its state
      • Jiang Cheng doesn’t spare a minute to check their work,
      • immediately turning to you and Jin Ling
    • “jiu-jiu! i can explain” Jin Ling is quick to stutter out when Jiang Cheng’s heavy foot steps approach both of your crouched forms
    • you stand up as Jiang Cheng approaches, Jin Ling clutching onto the side of your robes
    • “this was my fault, don’t blame A-Ling for this,” you’re quick to defend, when Jiang Cheng stares at both of you with an unreadable look in his eyes
  • you hold onto Jin Ling’s shoulder tightly as you continued,
  • “Jin Ling was worried, you were going with only a few disciples on this night hunt and though it’s a demon dog, the techniques Jin Ling has been learning at Cloud Recess have prepared him for this. we were coming to help you…”
  • you don’t mean to ramble, but the words fall out of your mouth the longer Jiang Cheng stares at you with…
    • worry?
    • anger?
      • please not anger
    • you unsure emotions comes to a halt when Jiang Cheng suddenly pulls both you and Jin Ling into a tight embrace,
    • and the words that he utters quickly onto the side of your cheek
      • “don’t scare me like this again,”

how these mdzs characters walk in and out of your life

Mo Xuanyu .。.:*☆

  • he falls for your voice first
  • before he really knows you,
  • he knows your podcast persona
    • it was just a little side project that had started from a fun class assignment in one of your electives
    • but you’ve kept up with it to pass the time in between your studies
  • you didn’t expect to gain such a high following
  • but a lot of people seemed to enjoy your funny anecdotes and realistic life/relationship advice
  • you’re grateful for the escape from the normal college life you lead
  • you don’t realize that there was anyone listening to you at all
  • let alone finding a fan like xuanyu
    • in your first live online meet up event when you’ve hit around 2 thousand listens,
    • you get to interact with people that have adored your work for the past year,
    • talking to voices that you had only seen as icons
    • learn names other than online alias
    • it is so much fun
      • it is the first time that you talk to xuanyu
        • it’s towards the end of your big voice call
        • you try to express your gratitude directly to as many viewers as you can
        • and you’ve made it through a rather large chunk
          • xuanyu’s exchange with you is short, but they resonate with you long after the livestream ends and you’re alone in your bedroom, getting ready for work and school the next morning
      • “you’ve changed me so much, thanks for making this and being you”
    • you wish that you could have been able to tell him the same, let me him know that his support changed you in the same way tenfold
  • the thought lingers in your mind as you go about your day
  • through the magic of the internet, you manage to find the person you want to thank
    • and it’s that message there that sprouts into exchange after exchange of encouragement, to memes, to compliments,
    • and the likes
      • however your relationship stays confined within this little message area
      • growing but not really ever moving
        • it’s quick and brief how fast you both fall for one another,
        • and although it doesn’t last
          • somehow after all the podcasts that you’ve done now
          • you still feel assured there’s someone out there who’s always listening

how these mdzs characters walked through your life

Lan Sizhui 。.。:∞♡*♥

  • Sizhui was someone that everyone was always looking at
  • not only was he handsome,
  • but he was kind, soft natured, smart and charming
    • with so many great traits
    • and so many eyes on him always
      • you never thought that you would stand a chance
    • but what you didn’t realize was
    • that Sizhui had always paid the most attention to you
      • you both had met through your campus’ tutoring center
      • and before he knew it, Sizhui began to look forward to the hour or so that you would both spend at the library together
    • even though you weren’t very good at physics
      • Sizhui still sees your work ethic shine through
        • you put dedication into everything that you do
        • and make the effort to come to the sessions prepared, and more invigorated than other students who’ve had him
    • you also treat him as a friend,
  • it’s a refreshing feeling, being treated as someone valuable more than just someone to either get homework answers from or a pretty face to look at
  • Sizhui’s handwritten notes for you help you pass your final exams
    • and his encouragements stay warm in your heart
    • long after your tutoring sessions end
      • you guys don’t date,
      • not really
        • but you still keep the funny sticky notes that he’d write on your planner,
        • remember the reddening of his cheeks whenever you catch him staring at you
          • know that time did seem to pass by too fast whenever you both were within each other’s presence
            • and well, you guys never really dated
              • but you sure knew
              • how you both felt

how these mdzs characters walked through your life

Jin Ling 。.。:∞♡*♥

  • Jin Ling had never fallen for anyone as hard or as fast as he fell for you
  • one passing glance on the college campus was enough for him to be completely smitten
    • and it took a bit of asking around
    • a lot of looking around too
      • but he finds you,
      • and really goes for it
      • because he’d been daydreaming about you from that first glance
    • he’s persistent in his efforts to get one date with you
  • even if he takes him almost 10 attempts
    • the first two attempts, he misses your class
    • the next three attempts the weather acts up, so he can’t see you on campus
    • there’s one time where you simply walked passed him because you didn’t even see him,
  • but there’s a saying that he’s always heard
    • “much work, much prosperity”
  • and really it does pay off
  • because he finally manages to catch you outside your class one time,
    • and asks you out
      • to his luck and happiness,
      • you say yes
  • both of you go on one date together
  • it was a fun outing
    • but one that made him realize that you both didn’t really have that much in common
      • as pretty and kind as you are
      • the awkward silences that lull between you on the bus ride and at the record shop are more than few
        • so after that
          • when you both part ways at the train station,
          • short goodbyes at hand
          • it feels a little like an ending
            • but to have spent the day with someone who adored you
            • was a memory worth making

how these mdzs characters walked through your life

Ouyang Zizhen 。.。:∞♡*♥

  • being with Zizhen was one of the more romantic experiences that you’ve had the pleasure of coming across
  • because, well, Zizhen was (and has) always been known for being absolutely romantic
  • with him, it was a picturesque kind of relationship,
  • from the very beginning
    • a meeting so trope-y (dropping books on the way to your class) that sometimes you forget that it was something that actually happened
  • into the honey moon phase,
    • roses on the random day
    • waiting for each other at the end of class
    • sharing sweaters,
      • kisses,
      • hand holding
  • being with Zizhen was so soft, so romantic
    • romance as much as it colors, never quite diminishes reality
  • so as days and weeks pass
  • the gestures feel less romantic,
    • feel a bit more dramatic than the butterflies of before
    • take up a lot more space than you think is necessary
      • being with Zizhen made you feel the child-like wonder of love
      • but also made you realize that it didn’t last
        • you both break it off on a sunny afternoon at a small coffee shop
      • and even though you both aren’t together anymore,
      • you still end on good terms, better terms
      • that remind you that platonic love, isn’t lacking of romantic love at all
    • and so with a small wave of goodbye, Zizhen walks out of your life after the 3 months that’d spent in it,
    • it was lovely,
    • it was puppy love,
      • but you were loved nonetheless

mdzs characters reacting to when you change your perfume

**✿❀ ❀✿**

Jiang Cheng

  • you are standing alone, watching the boats along the riverside pier,
  • when arms come up to wrap around you,
    • and you feel someone’s chin land on your shoulder,
      • before you can even share a word,
      • there is a firm kiss pressed against the bottom of your neck,
    • “Jiang Cheng,” you breathe, surprise and happiness mixing together in a blissful utterance
    • there is a soft pause where only the wind responds with a caress of your cheek
    • and then you feel Jiang Cheng’s lips against the bottom of your neck, slowly making its way up,
      • “Jiang Cheng,” you can’t help but scold slightly, note the public setting that you both are in,
      • at your second call of his name, the Sect Leader spins you around to face him,
      • brackets you against the wooden rail of the pier
        • “your fault,” Jiang Cheng tells you and you can’t help but smile at his childish words,
        • can’t stop him when he leans in to pull you in a deep hug, nosing at the juncture of your neck
        • “you smell nice,” his lips murmur against your skin
        • and you hug him tighter,
          • glad that he loved the new scent of lotuses and lavendar etched onto your skin

**✿❀ ❀✿**

Xue Yang

  • familiar scents, sentimentality would surprisingly be something that Xue Yang was attentive to
    • so when he comes to meet you at the inn hall that you both always meet at,
    • he is surprised
      • he’d become used to the natural scent that he had connected to you, earthy and herbal from your work at your father’s medicine shop
    • but today,
    • when Xue Yang gets a whiff of something sweet, floral, and looks up to see you approaching
    • his eyes widen along with an interesting smirk,
      • “this is new,” Xue Yang comments when you both sit down at the shared table
      • and you give him a questioning look,
      • “cherry blossoms,” he notes, and you watch him take an exaggerated breath of the air around you,
        • “cherry blossom…” Xue Yang says
        • and your eyes widen at his attention,
          • you had just tried a new perfume of cherry blossoms and ylang ylang
        • and you didn’t that it would make much of a difference
        • or mask the scents of all the herbs that you brewed in the medicine shop
    • but surprisingly to Xue Yang
    • somehow it had

Nie Mingjue

  • Mingjue sits on the bed, watching you by your vanity
  • the night routines that he shares with you are the most relaxing moments of his day,
    • he can name practically all the steps that you take by heart
  • which is why when you return to bed with him,
    • he can immediately tell that something is different
      • “y/n, you smell like jasmine,” Mingjue comments right away as you lay in his arms
      • “yes, i finished the perfume you bought me a few days earlier, we can go back to buy it again,” you tell him,
    • but your surpised by Mingjue’s strong hold around you, and the gentle kiss that he presses to the crown of your head
  • “i like this scent, soothing,” Mingjue tells you and you smile, leaning on his chest,
    • “mhm,” you hum,
    • happy to provide this bit of care and love
    • to your hard working husband

mdzs characters reaction when you faint from exhaustion

Lan Xichen

  • you have always looked beautiful teaching, that to Xichen is undeniable,
  • but Xichen worriedly picks up on the small tell-tale signs of your exhaustion,
    • the slight tremor in your hand that you hide in your sleeves,
    • the way that your eyes close slightly in between the short breaks when your students are reading
  • Xichen barely waits for the student’s dismissals to come into the hall, almost barreling into you as you try to leave
      • “y/n,” Xichen calls you, catching your arms
      • “i need to stop by the library,” you tell him,
      • and he knows that you’re using the work voice with him,
      • “y/n,” Xichen tries again, blocking your path
    • he knows how important that this new teaching position at Cloud Recess is to you,
    • but he can’t rest easy knowing (clearly seeing) that you have not been taking care of yourself
      • your eyes land on Xichen’s face, and he watches your face ease a few tense lines
      • “i’m fine,” you reassure,
        • and Xichen doesn’t buy it for one bit,
      • “let me accompany you then,” Xichen tries,
      • and you let out a sigh, about to retort to him
        • perhaps the sharp way that you had looked up had been too fast
    • but either way, your vision suddenly tunnels
  • Xichen’s arms wrap around your immediately, bringing your swaying form close to his chest
    • your hear his sigh above you as you get your bearings back,
      • slowly notice the tight, scared way that you’re holding onto his robes,
        • “come back with me,” Lan Xichen tells you as his arms wrap around his shoulder in a hug,
        • ‘time to rest, i won’t allow any more work,’ you know he means
          • and really you never knew your limits very well
          • so it’s a blessing to have someone like Xichen
          • how knows you better than yourself

Song Lan

  • your sword wavers, ever so slightly as you bring it back to your side
    • you feel tired,
      • “it’s completely gone,” Song Lan reassures,
      •  you make to nod when your vision swims,
        • Song Lang notices immediately,
          • reaches out to grab you, pull you close to him before he could second guess himself
        • your knees give in fast, and Song Lan holds you upright, surprised voice breaking out into the night
      • “y/n,” Song Lan breathes, the warmth from your body muted, almost as if you’d been suppressing it for a while
    • with you leaned against him, the pin pricks of close contact move their way up his arms and shoulders
    • but he ignores his own discomfort, lifting your robe sleeves to the sight of red,
      • small but clearly dangerous,
      • poison scratched onto your hand
    • Song Lan looks down at you, hears your strained breathing and decides that this can’t wait,
  • he quickly maneuvers your arms around his neck, and lifts your legs up in a quick bridal carry
  • “try to hold on for a few minutes, we’ll go back to the inn” Song Lan says, a reassurance that only he himself hears
    • your eyes fully close and your arms draped around his shoulders loosen
    • this close he gets a clear scent of dew and dirt from the night hunt
    • and a clearer scent of something so distinctively you

Xiao Xingchen

  • when your hand suddenly tightens in the crook of his elbow,
  • Xingchen stops, worry churning in his stomach
    • perhaps he should have been more attentive to you during this long journey
    • had pushed to the back of his mind,
      • the stumbling steps,
      • and late night talks
      • and days without a proper meal
    • all the days you had simply answered, “it’s okay,” to the hardships, because at the very least your didn’t have to endure it alone
  • Xingchen turns to you, having become much better at pinpointing exactly where you are
  • grabs your hand, to steady you,
  • steady himself
    • “y/n,” he calls to you
    • he’s surprised by the sharp downward pull of your hand and realizes with a start that you are falling,
  • Xingchen wraps his arms around you, lowering you to the ground
    • the path that they are taking is deserted anyways, so he doesn’t believe many will mind that you both are stopped as you are in the middle,
    • “i’m sorry…just need a moment,”
      • Xingchen’s brows furrow at your apology, and he reaches out to find you, hands patting slowly from your connected hands up to your shoulders,
      • his hand comes up to cup your face, startling slightly at the warmth there,
  • “why didn’t you tell me you had a fever,” Xingchen asks, later on when you both are sat in the shadow of a large tree a little ways up the path,
    • “i didn’t want to delay you,” you respond honestly, voice breathy even though you are leaned in his arms
      • i would wait for you, Xingchen finds himself thinking immediately,
      • but not yet quite saying

Wei Wuxian

  • screaming about it
  • the moment that he got home and saw you perched on the table
  • far from the blob on the wall
    • he’s running to your side with the loudest scream, even though the spider is not anywhere near him
    • “my hero,” you can’t help but sarcastically note as Wei Wuxian joins you in the table that you’re currently on top of
      • you blow a breath out of your mouth, summon your courage and take the broom that you’ve been holding
      • sweep it against the corner of the wall where the spider is
      • it skitters a few haste steps
      • you both scream
    • and honestly, new apartment vibes
    • it’s a bit embarrassing to admit but you both spend the afternoon hostage on the table in your own apartment
  • luckily Jiang Cheng pays a visit later on
    • and he’s fussing calling you both babies
    • but at least the spider’s gone

Lan Wangji

  • you would all think that he would have a calm time removing it
  • i think he’d be a little worried about it escaping the little contraption that he made to capture it
    • but as a Lan,
      • the cringe from his side is only barely noticeable
    • you hide behind him the whole time,
    • until the very second that he flings the little critter out from the plastic cup out the window,
      • with less grace than you had expected
      • but honestly, it’s a spider
      • so you don’t hold it against him
        • “thank you,” you tell him, finally letting out a breath of relief now that the spider was far far away
      • now you could finally get back to work in peace
      • only, just as you’re turning away
      • you feel a tug on your arm
    • you look up to see Lan Wangji giving his cheek to you,
    • “thank me,” you hear him saying, surprisingly coy
      • and you make a face at him, but press a quick peck on his cheek before quickly leaving
    • and Lan Wangji smiles, the smallest of lifts at the edge of his lips

Nie Huaisang

    • “you go kill it!” you tell Huaisang, pushing him
    • “you saw it first!” Huaisang childishly retorts, pushing you
    • “you’re closer to it!” you yell
      • and it becomes a little back and forth of you pushing each other on the couch
      • and you don’t know how long this goes on for exactly,
      • but when Huaisang nearly pushes you hard enough to fall off the couch,
        • your head turns to catch the empty spot by the window sill,
        • spider nowhere to be found
      • “it’s gone,” you comment,
      • and Huaisang follows your stare,
      • lets out the biggest sigh of relief and actually deflates on the couch next to you
      • you hurry to close the window, taking your chances
        • “phew that was so tiring,” Huaisang says and you can’t help but roll your eyes at him
        • “you didn’t even do anything!”
          • “it was scary alright!”
          • and alas commence your normal bickering

how these mdzs characters would take care of you on your period

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ Wen Ning ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆

  • surprisingly, or not, i think that he would be quite good at this
  • not just because he has an older sister
    • (so he has experience~)
  • but also because his demeanor is so calm and soft almost always
    • so he’d be the greatest person to deal with you when your mood swings hit
      • and also would be patient enough to go to the store and get you the exact brand of chocolate that you were craving that particularly hard day
    • and an extra plus would be how prepared he is
      • with his heat packs,
        • soft pillows,
          • extra blankets and all
  • he really does take care of you in the time where you aren’t your best
  • and deals with everything that gets thrown at him (from names, to pillows) graciously
    • and when you’re feeling better after your cycle’s finished,
      • you easily can easily return the favor

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚  Nie Mingjue ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆

  • way out of his depths
    • i think that one of the hardest things for him, would be to see his loved ones in pain
    • like that alone sets him off
      • but
      • well,
        • periods are usually painful
    • the first time he sees how much pain you’re in, he’s actually so seriously concerned that attempts to drive you to the ER
  • but after being together for a little over a year now,
    • he’s gotten to know about this aspect of you better
    • still doesn’t make his heart ache any less when your cramps are so bad that you have to lay in bed all day
      • but he does his best
      • and he really does pull through,
        • even when you ask him to do what you thought was nearly the impossible
      • “is this it?”
        • laying in bed you hear the crackling of the phone as your boyfriend is probably rummaging through the whole feminine care aisle at the store, looking for your pads
      • “yea that one,” you tell him, surprised that he actually found it,
        • “alright, just wanted to make sure”
          • and you realize that Nie Mingjue really does pay a lot more attention to you than you thought
            • “you’re the best,” you tell him, as he’s walking to the front of the store,
            • from your facetime, you see the smallest hit of a smile on his face before he says,
              • “get some rest, i’ll be home soon,”
            • and really you couldn’t have asked for a better boyfriend

Wei Wuxian

  • you don’t like fighting with Wei Wuxian
  • because he’s just stubborn
    • and he’s a lot louder than you
  • so when you guys fight, it takes a toll on you more than it does him
  • usually when it came to disagreements with you two it was usually this:
    • when he was overworking himself,
      • “you’re tired,” you state bluntly, to his back
      • Wei Wuxian bent over some scroll on the table, uses his first tactic which is ignoring you
      • you sigh, going up behind him to take his scroll away when his arm comes up to block you
      • you take in an annoyed breath as a soft tussle breaks out between both of you,
        • that ends when you manage to push his scroll onto the floor,
        • his eyes are ablaze when they turn to meet you,
        • “y/n,” he says your full name,
        • “wei wuxian,” you reply just as evenly, feeling his warm grip on your wrist,
      • the silence between you both is cold
    • and he’s not usually easy to rile up
    • but such turbulent emotions were part of the demonic cultivation
    • as you both are trading words between one another, his grip on your risk grows tighter as the words grow louder
    • and it’s really only when you let out a surprised yelp of pain that he realizes he’d hurt you
      • Wei Wuxian drops your wrist like burned,
        • doesn’t forget that your eyes aren’t brimming with tears from his tight hold
        • rather,
          • who he’s become

Xue Yang

  • ironically verbal fighting with him tends to manifest into actually like sword fighting
  • cause he’s the type to go, “okay, let’s spar, if you lose, you listen to me”
    • “and what if you lose?” you answer back
    • and he’ll simply shrug
      • and sure, arguments over who should hang the laundry,
      • what to buy at the market
      • little things,
      • can be decided like that
        • but not when arguments are bigger, more serious, like…
    • “this is wrong,” you tell Xue Yang, standing to the side as you watch him pack the poisonous powder into his small back pack,
    • “they deserve it,” is his terse reply
    • “but you’re not god, you can’t decide whether they get to live or die-”
    • you see Xue Yang is beginning to leave
    • and in a last ditch effort, you grab his arm before he can truly turn away from you,
      • “please, don’t do this,” the tears sting your eyes, but you don’t dare to let them fall,
      • Xue Yang turns around
      • he blinks at you, takes in the look on your face
      • then he moves your hand off of his arm,
      • turns away without looking back,
        • because you were naive to think
        • that just because he was good to you
        • that he would be a good person

a mdzs character each day of the week

lazy sundays with jiang cheng

  • sometimes,
  • when the quiet around you is just right,
  • the sun light is filtering softly through the open window,
  • and the warmth in his arms is just perfect
    • Jiang Cheng doesn’t want to leave the bed
      • even when it’s well into the late hours of the morning
    • “at this rate we’ll miss lunch with your brother,” you mumble, your hand warm where it’s laid on his chest
      • you both had been awake for hours already,
        • but laying with you in his arms
        • and the scent of your hair, tickling his chin
        • Jiang Cheng hadn’t wanted to move
      • with both of your busy schedules throughout the whole week,
        • him in his intern at the law office
        • you with your grad school work and classes
      • moments like this when you both get to lay next to each other like this,
        • warm
          • were hard to come by
    • “still sleepy,” Jiang Cheng says, turning to pull you even deeper into his arms, as if that were possible
      • you can’t help but laugh with his movements,
        • snuggling in close
        • falling so easily for his persuasion
          • “wei wuxian is going to be so mad at you,” you tease him, one final reminder of your appointment
            • “hmm, he’ll finally have that date with lan wangji that he always wanted,” jiang cheng replies
            • and you actually laugh out loud
            • the breath that you puff out against his thin shirt,
              • warm,
              • happy
                • spurs him to place a kiss against the crown of your head
                • you both don’t leave each other’s arms for the rest of the day
