Tonight is the final of the three nights of Jól on the Old Norse lunisolar calendar, and the Midwinter nights start tomorrow. I hope you all have had a great season! Soon begins the process of winding down Jólmánuðr and chasing out Jól for the year.

A sketch that got away from me. I am not of the legion who reread The Dark Is Rising EVERY Midwinter’s Eve, but it’s still very near and dear to my heart, particularly the scene where Will and Merriman sing Good King Wenceslas to beat back the Dark.
still genuinely might turn this into a proper painting, I didn’t do any studies for this one and there’s bits bothering me BUT merry Christmas for now!!
