It was his birthday at the end of February. I am drawing and writing about all the guys that live with me on Patreon for their birthdays all year because that’s a magical bond I never tire of pouring energy and love into. Patreon is a really nice place for it because it feels a bit like the friends-locking capability that Livejournal-era internet socialising could offer, with all the associated comfort and security. Tumblr and Instagram feel too open to scrutiny, and don’t really encourage the sort of in-depth engagement that I would prefer to see with my work. I wish there was a non-paywalled option, though, despite the obvious far-reaching benefits of being able to enjoy the support of a paying audience.
Either way, here he is, I love him very much, and I need you to look at the linework here and marvel at how much I am capable of now that I am chock full of anti-adhd “Brain Vitamins”! I just hatched some ringlets over the course of several hours like it was no thing whatsoever!!!!!
It’s mid-January 2021, which means it must be time for the 2020 annual artbook! With its smooth satin cover and textured natural recycled inner pages, this is the only retrospective of my favourite things I made and drew last year you’ll need. It is also the only one available. Obviously no-one else makes these. That would be desperately weird and I’m sorry for implying it. Thanks to my grandfather’s beautiful, beaten-up antique writing desk for modelling the artbook so well.

I thought about all the Morris dancing we missed last year due to the plague ravaging our land, and wondered how many sides, with the average age of a Morris dancer being 60+, would leave this abominable period light of members. Whittlesea Strawbear Festival is next weekend, and instead of a chilly day in the streets of the little town, warmed by jingling and hot chocolate, there are numerous fun Zoom presentations to attend. This is lovely, but it isn’t the same. I was sad for a bit, and then drew fantasy Morris dancers about it.
My Morris dancers have more hooden animals than normally one might see in a Morris side, and I’m yet to see a side specifically recruit trans and gender non-conforming people to contribute our particular magic, but they should.

A veritable rainbow of Fools! Here’s a small selection of Fools commissions I completed *waves hands* this week? time is weird. Thank you so much if you’ve bought one - they’ve been great fun to draw and have been really nice “busy work” to keep me from fretting about my grandpa. If you’d like your own capering buffoon drawn, you can order one here. Commissions will be open as long as they can hold my interest, but I’m getting good at taking breaks to maintain this. So get in if you’re interested - but don’t worry about “missing your opportunity” if I stop doing them for a little bit, I will reopen later.

Are you a Fool, or Fool-Oriented Person?
The time has come. You may now order your very own Fool from my fair hand, in exchange for money. I will extract your references and notions of what is important about your Target, and Enfoolenate them, in the cod-Medieval style that I’ve honed to a razor edge over the last few months. Samples of what you can expect are above.
Here is the order form. I require from you two References, and three Aspects (which could be an interest, a favourite pet, a musical instrument - anything you feel might be important to include), and anything between £45 and £70, depending on your generosity to me, a gay wizard who lives in a swamp. Send your payment via Paypal first, making sure to be clear about your name and email address, so I can keep track.
Gifting season is nearly upon us. What better than to pay a wizard to non-consensually Enfoolenate your nemesis, lover or boss? You will receive your Fool in RGB and CMYK for both internet bragging and printing, if you should so desire. Resultant Fool will be emailed to you in a contact-free environment so as to minimise exposure to the Pox.

It is with great excitement that I can announce that, as of this weekend, i.e. TOMORROW, I will be available to commission again. This is no small thing, as I am generally too disabled to commission and thus haven’t offered this service in around ten years.
So what’s changed? Firstly, I am now reliant on my artwork as my sole source of income.This means that I have more time and brain space available to me, and this makes commissioned work easier to do. Also, I drastically need the revenue. Secondly, I have been in talky-talks with my similarly brainally disabled friends who manage to make commissioning work for them, to come up with a strategy to make me able to undertake commissioned work. The realisation I had is that I just need to radically restrict the output. As such:
- I will draw Fools
- Fools
- Just Fools
- I will draw you as a Fool
- I will draw anything, anyone, living, dead, fictional or non-fictional,
- as a Fool
- I have honed my cod-Medieval illustrative style down to a razor-sharp edge
- and I am ready to EnFoolenate anyone your heart desires
- The price is pay what you like between £45 and £70
- The output Fool will be A5, full colour, traditionally rendered, emailed to you in both RGB and CMYK in case you want to print it
- The commissions open TOMORROW and will last until I am bored of drawing Fools. I have three destructively hilarious samples to show you when they open tomorrow and I can’t wait
NEWS NUMBER TWO
I am streaming a conversation with Albert Vidal(@aRough1 on all platforms) (except this one apparently!) who I met last year at Thought Bubble and got on really well with. He’s making a gay Lenormand deck at the moment, and we’ll be chatting our various upcoming projects, foolishness, chaos magic, cartomancy, censorship, capitalism and spiritual authenticity, and whatever awful tangent I manage to drag us off on. That will start at 11am GMT over on my channel, then we’ll raid his to continue the conversation. Sorry for the difficult time again, if you’re not in the UK - it’s quite hard to know what the optimal time for these things will be!

The aflatus came upon me at last, and I carved a Tzeentch icon for my altar. I’m carving a set of icons of my pantheon from various local woods (mostly hawthorn and blackthorn as they’re most appropriate) and appropriate materials from my huge “found favours” hoard. Tzeentch here is carved from the same blackthorn branch that Sutekh and Eris came from.
Process and so on over on patreon as you’d expect. I think Dionysus will be next!
