Spoilers for Episode 7. Look away! If you haven’t seen it.
So you’re telling me that Kuiil died but that red devil looking thing from episode 6 didn’t die after getting double smashed?
Girl BYE.
P.S I have a feeling that the Mandalorian Squad is going to make an appearance once again. I’m ready to see my thick blue boii !!(the heavy infantry)
Gideon during the entirety of the last third:
Din: *does that back-heel kick thing with his spear*
Me:
Boba and Fennec listening to Din make his message: hmm nice
Din and Cara:
Grogu got a nap. Boba got his armour. Fennec Shand got resurrected. Moff Gideon got Grogu. And Din?
Din got depression and a fishing pole.
He was doomed from the start
You know he knew already
Apparently this is not the way
I’ve sat for so long. I just want to see ahsoka
The Mandolorian S01E08
The first season of ‘The Mandalorian’ comes to a close in 'Redemption.’ This season pulled off a feat that not much has in the ’Star Wars’ universe since the days of 'A New Hope.’ It got people, even people outside of 'Star Wars’ fandom, talking about 'Star Wars’ again. Of course, a lot of that discussion is due to a particular asset’s cuteness, but not all of it. The writing and the direction throughout the season, especially on 'Redemption,’ are what kept people coming back.
Nurse Droid
Taika Waititi sits in the director’s chair for 'Redemption.’ I have to say I’ve been looking forward to his episode all season long and I wasn’t disappointed. He can inject humor even into the darkest moments. Witness the scene between an injured Din Djarin and the reprogrammed IG-11 to see Waititi’s mastery. Waititi is also good at bringing the humanity of his characters to the fore. The path of IG-11 this season is a beautiful example of this. We start the season glad Djarin kills IG-11, and we end the season not wanting to see their new partnership end.
Darksaber
Moff Gideon comes on to the scene and makes quite the impression. Comparable to Darth Vader’s appearance in 'A New Hope,’ there is no mistaking Gideon means serious business. The revelation at the end of the episode that Gideon has the Darksaber was a little lost on me. I haven’t invested in 'The Clone Wars’ or 'Rebels’ enough to understand the weapon’s importance. I’ll be giving those shows some time while waiting for 'The Mandalorian’ to return. It seems evident that Gideon has an interest in the Mandalorians and Din Djarin in particular. How this plays out in season 2, we’ll have to wait and see.
Finale
There were a few loose points I would have liked to see addressed in 'The Mandalorian - Redemption.’ If we’ve learned anything this season, though, it’s that patience is rewarded. Assuming there aren’t significant behind-the-scenes changes before season 2, I’ll get the answers I want. New questions too, but that is really what any 'Star Wars’ fan wants. And 'The Mandalorian’ is the most welcome addition this year to the 'Star Wars’ universe.
No, but Grogu was sat under the table when Giancarlo said “I’m going to squash the little green bastard”.
start it over
snack, not attack
POSSIBLE MANDALORIAN SPOILER
- The same scientist/doctor who was there when Mando saves baby yoda from The Client (Werner Herzog) is there at the lab in Chapter 1 on Navarro
- They harvested baby yoda’s blood
3. Remember when Qui-gon Jin tested Anakin’s blood and found that his midi-chlorian count was THROUGH THE ROOF??
4. Midi-chlorians exist in the body on a cellular level and are what makes a being in the Star Wars Universe strong in the force (when found in an abundance.)
5. Baby yoda is strong in the force. VERY strong. Moff Gideon was harvesting his blood to gather his midi-chlorians and inject them into fetusus to make SUPER SOLDIERS (dark troopers). He is weaponizing force sensitivity. The plan? To make a new generation of with that has uncontrollable, hybridized and thoroughbred power.
