This AmberDepp case has proven to me that you guys only care about the “perfect victim” because how is amber heard recounting how she was brutally assaulted by Depp and people are laughing at her.
Amber is in tears, choked up, and barely able to catch her breath. This livestream has a live chat. the entire live chat is laughing and mocking her as she describes the abuse. This is one of the crudest and most malicious displays of culturally & socially validated misogyny.
This! Amber was nor is an angel. Was she abusive towards JD? Possibly. At the very least they were both toxic to each other.
But people mocking her is all part of our insidious rape culture. Women are constantly blamed for being sexually assaulted.
Was her skirt short? Was she drunk? Was she flirting with him? Did she kiss him? Did she let him buy her a drink? These are the typical questions often asked by police, defense attorneys, and the general public when women are sexually assaulted. Every effort is made to shame, belittle, and cast doubt upon sexual assault victims.
So yeah, I’m not surprised in the least that people are being this disgusting.
