Sometimes I like to think that Nesta constantly wears Cassian’s shirts and sweaters to sleep since they’re big, smell like him, and they balloon around her. That and because he gets just a little bit more possessive at seeing her with them on. It does something to him that lingerie doesn’t.
However that’s not the post. It’s that there are holes in the back of his shirts as we know and I like to imagine that there’s buttons all along the slits to accommodate a wide variety of wing spans and shapes so Cassian frequently will button those for her and kiss at her shoulder when one side slips down her arm. Nesta could button them sure, but all bedroom routines are sacred and routine and so Cassian buttons them and rolls up the sleeves if they’re too long for her.

what pissed me off the most is that the book actually was working, it was funny, wit, entertaining. yes, it had it’s problems, but it was working, kind off. until it wasn’t.
I get so annoyed that Cassian describes Mor as like amazingly beautiful or whatever he said. But every time he thinks of Nesta he is focusing on a body part. Her butt, her boobs, how small her waist, how skinny she is, her thighs. Like WTF.
I understand that that in itself is a difference between how he views them. That he would have a sexual relationship with Nesta and not with Mor ever again). I also understand that he doesn’t necessarily know Nesta enough to view her as something more sentimental. But OMG this girl almost died with you. The least you can do is not view her as a piece of meat. My word!
I just have to add that I wonder if Nesta being sexualized is going to come up in the novel. Because I hope it does. Not only because it’s a topic that is very real and present, but also becuase Nesta has been reduced so much and really has been a victim of this kind of rhetoric for the whole series. Not just because of the assaults but because all she is to people is the raised to be perfect and proper figure, the queen without a throne, the mean sister type, the bitch, the powerful esoteric fae, the alcoholic basket case who can’t get her shit together.
She is never just a person. She is a title. With this banging body and personality to kill. She’s always described as beautiful and nothing else. Never clever, or smart, or witty or funny. Just harsh, cold, and beautiful. We know her as much more, but to them how many times did we hear anything about Nesta beyond she’s making all of our lives miserable?
I know this is partly because of how private Nesta is, but this is the girl who helped in war when she didn’t have to, who learned as much as she could to be useful, who saved Cassian, who tried very hard to convince people to do the right thing, who cared so much about Elain and took care of her, who tried to go across the wall to save Feyre. Why does every character only describe her as parts rather than the whole!!!!!
I still not much excited about Nesta’s book and where she will be – I really hate that she’s being obligated to stay in a hostile place like the illyrian mountains when she’s went through way to much, has so much trauma to deal, and now she has to endure being in an unsafe place with untrustworthy people – and with a grudge against her sister’s husband – I mean… all of that just let a bad taste in my mouth. I usually don’t feel so affected by angst and actually like a lot, but what’s happening with Nesta is just… to much?
I still don’t have much hope, but I after the last leak at least I feel like acosf can be a funny reading (?). I kinda liked, felt like good fanfic (literally fanfic, I’m sure I already read a fanfic like that) and I kinda surprised in a good way.
