#cauldron
There were so many types of them… Self-stirring, copper, brass, pewter. It was so much fun getting my own cauldron.

Traditionally crafted from cast iron, the Witch’s Cauldron is a popular tool of the trade. Romanticized from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the cauldron is known as the vessel in which nasty brews containing newt’s eyes and frog’s tongues bubble and boil. Of course, this is not so, and the cauldron was a practical tool found in mundane homes as well. Cauldrons are now used for containing bonfires, burning herbs to ash, holding incense or offerings, making black salt, and other less nefarious tasks.
Some witches had a cauldron dedicated for cooking up not-so-mysterious brews and potions, or even a ceremonial cauldron for ritual stews and other food items. It’s representative of the goddess and her womb, transformation, and when used in rituals, represents boths fire and water elements. When filled with water, it’s good for scrying.
In Celtic mythology, the cauldron is associated with the goddess Cerridwen. In Irish folklore, it holds the leprechaun’s riches. In Norse mythology, Andhrímnir slaughters Sæhrímnir every night and prepares it in his cauldron, Eldhrimnir for Valhalla to feast upon. In Greek mythology, Hera sent two Titans to kill Dionysus. They attacked him, cut him up, and boiled him in a cauldron for a feast. Before the feast was finished, his heart was reclaimed and used to make him born again.
