i know tumblr doesn’t give a SHIT when things happen in countries outside the “most popular ones” (such as the usa & england). it’s true, don’t lie to me. y’all don’t give A FUCK. not every issue and problem in said countries gets the appropriate exposure but in general shit shows up on the news WORLD FREAKING WIDE. you set up donations, you help out, your spread the word, you say “pray for x”……

people are dying - at home, on the road, trying to run away, in their cars.
yesterday my country had 300active fires.
people are losing EVERYTHING they own.
i have a friend that is on a train right now passing through places that have been burnt to the ground and she says the smoke is so intense it’s getting inside the train and she can barely breathe.
and yet, even though several people (myself included) have been trying to bring awareness to what has been happening in southern europe… what we get from most of you, those not part of the countries suffering, is silence. we don’t ask for money, we don’t ask for shit other than a reblog to spread awareness… something you can delete in 24/48hrs if you wish.
i don’t know what to tell you. i’m angry. i’m frustrated. i’m disappointed. i feel like i’m screaming into the void. “a reblog does nothing” - you know that’s a damn lie, you know exposure always helps, you know people start paying attention when posts on social media become popular. my country in particular is a small one, we get ZEROexposure. y’all are only starting to figure out we even fucking exist bc of the shit we’ve been winning lately.
but hell, if the EU doesn’t give a shit, why should some user on tumblr dot com?

This is fucking important. I am glad someone fucking spoke about this and said what they had to say. The damage is terrible, and all the evergreen, stone, even the ground is black. I was fucking terrified when Croatia was burning. The fire was near a village where I like and I thought it will burn down. I thought the church will burn down. I thought the cemetery where my grandpa is buried will burn. I still remember the smell of smoke, and when I went to check how bad is fire, my clothes and hair and skin all stunk of smoke. It didn’t go away for weeks.

I’m currently in two different D&D campaigns, one of which I’m playing two characters, and none of them have any fire-related powers. One is even fire-resistant.
sun wukong would be a great servant, but tbh i’d like to see him in something else in the fate series before grand order. he’s one of those servants that has the potential for dozens of different nps and abilities, so i’d rather see him in a position where he can use all those abilities in a plot-driven way before he’s reduced to 3 skills and a np that need to fit into pre-existing game mechanics
my dnd character is fun bc he’s a gay little gnome cleric who isn’t even proficient in religion
sometimes he does something really cool like destroying all the undead in a room before they even have the chance to start a fight and sometimes he swallows a broken immovable rod just to see if that will make it move and has to be gutted like a fish to get it out of him. every day is his birthday and he wholeheartedly believes that horses are male cows, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t respect the party’s horse supersonic vanessa “two-horse” powers as the powerful trans woman she is. every day is his birthday because he doesn’t know how birthdays work and he spent a large portion of his childhood as a garden gnome because his father is the worst and he believed that the actual garden gnome statue also in the garden was his real living brother named ecnud because he read the hat backwards.
makes me insane that Leomund’s Tiny Hut is called that when it’s a fucking ten foot radius. that’s a gigantic hut. that’s nearly twice the size of my bedroom. that’s Leomund’s Average Yurt. you can’t fit that in half the rooms in a dungeon. your party doesn’t even have to sleep within whispering distance of each other in there if they don’t want to. they’re chihuahuas on a california king mattress.

You know, in the last 2 years I’ve basically only played non-DnD TTRPG systems and have gotten incredibly excited about the beautiful and wide array of interesting games out there that facilitate storytelling in so many creative ways. But by dipping my toe into systems other than DnD it has only made my dislike for those in the TTRPG twitter community who dunk on DnD (and dunk on other TTRPG creators) intensify.
You’d think I’d understand them more, but I don’t. I just really, really don’t, and those who spend all their energy and time on critizing others about the ‘popular’ systems they create or choose to engage with instead of lifting their peers up, are not the kind of people I want to be around.
Would I like it if more people played systems other than DnD? Sure. Does that make DnD bad? Absolutely not.

Like, when a characterin the moment is panicked or furious or desperate in some way to protect someone they love, and then the playerrolls a 20 on an extremely difficult check, and it’s the gameplay equivalent of that thing where mothers lift burning cars off their children?
The 20 of Love is proof that the dice know what they’re doing, okay.
Anyway last night our ranger got a nat 20 to find the trail of his baby sister’s kidnappers, despite the fact that she was taken with no bloodshed from a crossroads, and there had been a lot of foot traffic from people looking for her AND some light rain in the week-and-change since.
