For those who don’t know what this game is about, a bunch of information below!
Virgo Versus the Zodiac is a sci-fi/fantasy JRPG inspired by the Mario & Luigi RPG series and the Mother RPGseries in which you play as an obsessed villain.
The game features traditional turn-based combat with real-time execution of moves: blocking, countering and timing your attacks carefully as well as predicting your foes’ moves is essential to succeed in Virgo’s twisted and unforgiving cosmic quest to bring back the Golden Age, a period of peace, symmetry and balance, or so she thinks.
In this galaxy where every action means a reaction, you’ll play as Virgo, the Holy Queen, often called Dreadful Queen by heretics, bringing mayhem to the Zodiac Realms and leaving a trail of stardust on the way, all to fit her excessively righteous worldview.
- A unique turn based combat system featuring timed-actions and counterattacks that favors a balance of offense and defense, rewarding a deliberate mind and swift fingers.
- No Random Encounters: Every fight is a unique challenge designed specifically for you.
- A focus on exploration with multiple endings: There are many denizens, places, and items to see among the stars, and each interaction could be the one that determines your fate!
- Zodiac Memories: Peer behind the veil to explore the backstories of the Zodiacs!
- Take the Dangerous Route and fight off the Space Reptiles in an optional Action Filled Shoot'em Up Minigame!
- And most importantly: Riding Alpacas!
(color your outfits with your favorite palette as well as your Alpaca!)

A being with long wings, able to fly high up in the sky, a being blessed with immortality, andfreedom. Thehumans admired your species from afar, until it became jealousy.
You witnessed it all. Your family was taken away from you, your friends, your closest ones, everyone, but the worst of all? Your freedom. The freedom your species fought the gods to gain, the many storms you have endured, only to disappear into dust, bloody dust.
You fought back, but despite everything you were captured, left alive for some shady scientific experiments. A question kept pondering into your mind, why were you left alive? You? The black sheep of your family? It remains unknown to you.
Many years have passed, they called you XVIII, your name ripped away from you. You are not just a toy, you’re an invaluable asset to them, you kill people you are tasked to kill. An ‘assassin’, you kill to live.
Will you be a puppet to the end? Or will you finally cut the strings that have been holding you down for all those years? Or perhaps… you will find someone that will hold dear for you?

Happy New Year everyone! It’s time for the massive and lengthy wrap up post!
Firstly, I want to thank everyone who has supported my work and helped me keep moving forward despite only working on the game in the small spare time I have. Major shout outs to the devs who helped me make the second major build possible. Their efforts must be credited. Special shout out to @vampiredev for granting me permission and blessings to use their character in the game, as well as for all their art and moral support!
TL;DR:
- Build adds so much stuff - map, saving, a new boss, enemies, etc. Controller support and equipment screen still WIP but are implemented.
- Enemies and some abilities need a complete overhaul. Very much needed despite how much this will delay progress.
- Elzie the Vampire Girl joins the cast! Art being made by VampireDev!
- Progress is slow due to life happenings and jobs. Will take a second game project previously worked on to help with the mundane and artist block.
- You can find Layna appearing in both Vampire’s Bit andBug Fables!
- There’s a secret everyone missed out on… it’s somewhere in the mansion.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!~
Starting2020by sharing a little bit of my favorite work done in 2019:
I had the pleasure to make some art for @lightspiritdev‘sProject Light Spirit last year, and on top of that I got asked if my game’s main character, Elzie, could make a cameo on it, an idea I loved!
Of course, Layna, makes her own appareance in Vampire’s Bit too, so don’t forget to check both games to find them!

June is PRIDE Month!
During the next following weeks, we will feature interviews of queer creators. Discussing their inspirations for their projects and experience as IF creators, we want to shed a light on their journey.
Here are our month’s featured authors, please check out their works and join us in supporting them!
Kit, Author of The Northern Passage
It’s cold, so cold, and your head aches, your ears pop, water choking your throat and nose, all you can do is watch as the sky gets farther and farther away from you. Clawed hands grab at your ankles, your legs, your arms, pulling you down, tearing at your clothes and piercing your skin.
You convulse violently, your body struggling to expel the water from your lungs as more floods in.
Staring up into the fading light, you feel your body grow weak, giving in, sinking now, your blood churning all around you in the water. A hand grabs at your throat, caressing a thumb over your skin, pulling you down as the dark water turns red.
The Northern Passage is an 18+ horror fantasy CYOA, where you play as a hunter sent up north to investigate a series of missing people along the border of your home country and in the port cities of the Blackwater.
Working with your handler, Lea, you will travel north and discover that things are far worse than you ever could have imagined, and that there is something powerful lurking out in the deep, dark sea…Read more about TheNorthern Passagehere.

You have just joined the Arbiter ranks—whether you wanted to or not. This prestigious position comes with a fair amount of perks, including your own ship and crew. However, it’s also the most dangerous job in the galaxy. When a small colony faces an attack from an unknown source, you’re sent to investigate. Brigid is also the author of Lost Birds (link) and CLOSEDLOOP(link).Abigail, Author of Willow Creek Run
It’s finally summer and you’re spending it in your childhood home of Willow Creek. It’s a small, idyllic town in mid-America filled with rolling green hills, winding streams, and miles and miles of horse country. Most of the population learned to ride before they learned to walk, and you are no exception.
You’ve agreed to help out at your father’s training and boarding stable because he’s fallen on hard times and can’t afford the summer help he needs. He’s been missing payments to the bank, and if he doesn’t pay in full soon they’ll either take the farm or he’ll be forced to sell out to his old rival, Alexander Mannor.
Your only hope is to win the town’s summer-end competition, Willow Creek Run, and use the prize money and prestige to pay your father’s debts and save the farm. The problem is that you don’t have a horse of your own to enter and you haven’t competed in years.
Just when it looks like all hope is lost, a mysterious horse turns up on your father’s property with no sign of an owner and a wild look in its eye. Could this be the sign you’ve been looking for? You have the whole summer to train your horse, make friends (or enemies!), and do your best to prepare for Willow Creek Run.

Demo: TBAMaxim, Author of Werewolf Noir
Set in a modern fantasy world, Werewolf Noir is a dark mystery where you’re looking for the person who killed your kid. If it’s for justice or revenge is up to you. You play as a relatively new werewolf after having lost everything and everyone, now living in the city of Reaver, corruption runs deep through the system and the richer someone is the more corrupt they are. Meet interesting characters and ro’s as you put the puzzle pieces together, get adopted by a tiny little pup or kitten, and pick out your new career path (private detective, bounty hunter, criminal) to make ends meet as you navigate this world and try to keep the wolf inside contained.

Maxim is also the author of Ichor: Awakening (TBA) and A Hero’s Job (TBA)Jess, Author of The Black River
Somewhere, somehow, you lost your memories. You’re aware that–whatever it was that happened –it involved chanting cultists, and horrible serrated knives, but unfortunately none of those nice gentlemen are around to explain what’s going on to you. Oh… and also it seems that whatever they did with the aforementioned chanting and knives tore a hole in the fabric of reality and opened a gateway from the world of the living to the Underworld.
Which you fell through.
And now you’re stuck, despite your best efforts, on an antique ship from several centuries ago, with a crew of dead sailors and a motley assemblage of others from the living world. You don’t know what’s going on back in the world where you’re supposed to be, but you know that it can’t be good.
In order to get home, you’ll have to help sail the Will-o’-wisp across the length of the Black River, uncovering truths that change the entire way you view the world and fighting villains whose ambitions extend to the very act of deicide.
And you’d quite like to get your memories back, while you’re at it.

Play the Demo here.Nell, Author of Body Count
Your life isn’t going how you’d hoped. Despite having big plans when you graduated, you’re stuck in a dead end job and a crappy flat with zero romantic life to speak of. All until a friend convinces you to join the cast of a new reality TV show.
The premise is simple: 12 singles are sent to a villa on a tropical island and they live there together for a month. After 28 days, the couple who is voted by the other islanders as being most likely to withstand the test of time will win £500,000. In addition, the couple with the highest body count will win £500,000. Total prize pool? £1,000,000.
In this context, “body count” refers to how many people you’ve slept with… right? Well, that’s what you think when you sign your contract. Turns out, though, that not allof your fellow cast members will be using that definition to get to the prize.
Fall in love, win big money, solve some murders and try to stay alive.

Nell’sPatreonandKo-fi.Heather, Author of Jade Empire: Shadow of the Lotus
Legend tells of the Spirit Monks; servants of the Water Dragon, shepherds of the dead, warriors without peer. Though their order was all but wiped from existence forty years ago, they are slowly but surely rebuilding themselves. Young warriors from across the Jade Empire dream of joining their ranks.
You are no different.
You are the newest initiate of the Spirit Monk Order; raised in the idyllic Two Rivers and trained by a living legend, you are a martial arts prodigy. As the junior member of the Order, you travel the Empire, dealing with lost and vengeful spirits. But shadows of something far more sinister lurk on the horizon, and it’s up to you and your allies to unravel the dark mystery before it’s too late…
Thethunderonherbackdoesnotcarethattheredswellofherlipsisrawandsmellsofslaughter, onlythatitisslick.“Leda and the Swan” is a kinetic prose poem whose heartbeat echoes the Greek myth. You can read it by clicking the link at the beginning of this paragraph.

Greetings, everyone!
As promised, Chapter Six of Fields of Asphodel is now playable. Please note that for this one, I reuploaded the entire game, in order to add more save slots. There are now 12, so that should give you all plenty of room to try new things.
Be warned that I did adjust some variables in previous chapters this time, so things may break if you’re playing from an old save. That is simply the nature of the beast, I fear.
Anyway, there are 109,854 words in this new chapter, bringing the game to a grand total of 559,257 words in all so far.
In this chapter, you can:
- Figure out what’s up with those weird dreams.
- Take a big step (or don’t) towards full-fledged godhood
- Meet (or don’t) the eccentric deity of dreams
- Hang out (or don’t) with the Queen of the Gods herself
- And more!
I have also:
- Completed a few bugfixes
- Added six save slots
- Various typo corrections, etc.
As always, I welcome feedback, and I hope you all enjoy the chapter.

Hi there! First, the work you do for this community is really amazing, so thank you so much for that!! Second, do you know of any IFs that feature a bodyguard RO, or a RO whose job it is to protect or defend the MC? I use “bodyguard” loosely - anything where the RO is a partner or some kind of protective presence (like Lea from Northern Passage) - I’m such a sucker for that trope lolHi there, sorry for deleting your ask by mistake but here’s a list of IFs with bodyguard ROs and the equivalent. If anyone else has further suggestions, feel free to reply below where we will add those that fit in the list, thank you!
