I can finally show this one!
A small preview of the pixel artbackground,spriteandanimationwork I have been doing for the Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! parody/homage level for Vanilla Gaming Company’s game Vanilla Beast: Ace in the Hole.
The game will have a huge amount of minigames/levels, each of them in the hands of a different artist, inspired by various classic games likeThe Punisher,Outrun, and Double Dragon, but also referencing movies,musicand general pop culture from the 80’s.
Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! is a game I used to play a lot as a kid, and that I still love and enjoy today, so getting to work on reimagining it has been a wonderful job!

Back into a Castlevaniamood! Something I did a couple of months ago but that I forgot to share here.
I got inspired by the amazing work done by PigsyandPyronon their Castlevania: Symphony of the Night port for the SEGA MEGA DRIVE/GENESIS,and decided to take their idea of a 16bitversion of the game a step further by making this mockup of how an 8bitversion of it would look.
While it may be a little bit unpractical for an actual game, due to a big amount of spriteson screen, and the flickering that would entail, the mockup follows perfectly all the technical limitations of a NES/FAMICON game with the enhanced attributes of the MMC5chip, meaning its possible to have this level of detail on the real system.
As soon as I get some extra free time, I’d like to make more 8-bit demake mockups like this one, not only for SoTN,but for a lot of other games I love.

Something I did a couple of days ago for Pixel Dailies
The #PixelRemasterchallenge consisted on redrawing a Castlevania screenshot. I decided to go for a somewhat realistic look, using dark colors to get a serious and scary mood, but at the same time I followed all FAMICOM/NES technical limitations.

I also took the chance to do a small upgrade to another Castlevania screenshot I redrew for Pixelation’sComercial Critique Challenge some time ago, since I thought it would be great if both of them looked like they came from the same game.
An anime styled Dungeon and Dragons character I drew recently.
I decided to turn her portraitintopixel art, and that idea eventually became various versions of the portrait following different systems limitations or testing different color palettes.
TheNES / FAMICOM,Game BoyandPICO-8 versions follow each system’s limitations and restrictions, and could be easily replicated in a game that runs on the real thing. DB16andDB32only use the colors avaible in Dawnbringer’sDB16andDB32 palettesrespectively.
I’ll upload a full body version of this character’s art later, and I’m also planning to do more of these portraits for characters from different campaigns I have been a part of.
I’d also love to start taking commissions soon, both for high resolution and for pixel art, so I probably will be delving into more details about that in future posts.
