Anna’s Hummingbird
The polar vortex spilling over on Seattle gave us some rare heaps of snow, and interesting opportunities to capture wildlife that you normally don’t encounter in frigid weather in some snowy surroundings.
I’ve decided this year to attempt the 52 hike challenge
My first hike of the challenge was up to Dirty Harry’s Peak
And somehow I always forget that Mt Si kicks my ass until I’m half way up it and it just keeps getting steeper
Flying Fish of the Midwest!
Hiking up the mountains is great because you get to experience All the weather
Wonderful mildly chilly lush temperate forests at the trailhead and then it just gets colder and snowier until you’re knee deep in snow in a frozen winter wonderland
And then you trudge back down until it’s all green and pretty again haha

Skagit Tulip Festival!
This was my first visit to a flower farm like this, I love all the colors and textures
I had never seen so many different tulips before it was beautiful.
9/52 Hike Challenge: Shi Shi Beach Trail
I Love the ocean. I love the way it smells, I love the sea spray. It just feels good.
The weather was beautiful. Although the forest trail leading to the coast was extremely muddy and did require you to make your own path around the mud a few times it was really lovely. There was a cool boardwalk through a lot of it. I saw a lot of birds…but I had my landscape lens on so didn’t really get any shots of them :(
Come with me to the forrest
