For 10 places in the @rememberingwildlife #RememberingBears book is now open for entries!
The competition is designed to help find the most beautiful images of bears out there, whether taken by professionals, amateurs, or anyone in-between. Guest judges this year are the wonderful #wildographers @melissagroo and bear expert extraordinaire @chrismorganwildlife
The competition runs until Sunday 24th April, so please do spread the word to anyone you think might have worthy bear shots. Often the most popular images in the book are found through this contest and we cannot wait to see the stunning photographs entered this year. Good luck!

@savingthesurvivors founder Dr. Johan and team in South Africa were called to help a desperate reserve owner who had lost 4 Rhinos in one night in a brutal poaching attack!
Many reserve owners in South Africa are feeling immense financial pressure after covid has seen their main income from tourism practically disappear over the past 2 years. By far the biggest expense for these custodians of our wildlife is the security and measures needed to keep the most endangered species safe.
This is where, with your support, our teams can provide life saving assistance. We are able to support these wildlife caretakers with our veterinary services for free, in this case, in collaboration with the @councilofcontributors and helicopter pilot Gerry McDonald, we were able to fly in, trim the horns, take DNA and blood samples and microchip all the Rhinos that remained on the reserve. Undoubtably making them less of a target for the poachers that were feared to still be in the area.
The Reserve owner said - “I stand here with tears in my eyes because of your generosity – we didn’t see how we were going to get this done.” “It’s very lonely being a private rhino owner. Until now, we didn’t have any support, we didn’t know anyone we could call who cares the way we do.”

Posted @withregram • @margotraggettphotography Today I leave the bush after a magical three weeks of exploring beautiful Botswana. And she saved the best for last! I’ve finished my safari at @. It is green season here and hot, so we decided to park up by a waterhole in the shade last night and watch the birds as the sun sank. Suddenly from the tall grasses, a leopard appeared and started to drink. Just as I was photographing and marvelling at the beauty of that, another leopard walked into frame and joined her, her sub-adult cub. They drank while we held our breath and then as leopards do, they turned and disappeared into the tall grasses and I wondered if I had dreamed the moment entirely.

For #turtletuesday this fashionable painted turtle while sporting quite the covering of duck weed (a current fashion trend amongst turtles of this swamp) decided it should add a feather to its outfit. People are so scared of grizzly bears, but chances are if you respect them, they’ll respect you. Scary to think that if I had a tag for a grizzly I could have shot this bear from the driver seat of my car- all for the trophy. It’s grizzly hunting season in BC, and it’s horrifying to imagine how many of these beauties will be shot this season.
