The confusion between the meaning of these two terms in Historical Fencing seems to come up a lot.
If you touch without power it does not necessarily mean you are fencing without intensity. If you fence with a lot of power, it does not necessarily mean you are fencing with a lot of intensity.
Though they exhibit a lot of overlap, they are not the same thing.
Strapped cameras to peoples heads and did some fencing. For your enjoyment, of course!

I forgot to post here.
I got a proof print of my book in the mail a week or so ago. I am pretty happy with it. A few things i will do differently layout-wise next time, but it’s fine.
Waiting on a foreword and then it will be ready to go. The final came out to like 220 -ish pages.

So I bought a super durable case for my new gopro and tried to get some first person sparring footage.
I unfortunately messed up. It was the first time i’d tried controlling the camera from my phone, and accidentally had it set to timelapse mode. So it’s very low framerate (meaning no image stabilisation) and very long exposure (meaning blurry images)
However, the footage in general shows some promise for what I can come up with if I am less of an idiot next time.
I think i want to aim the camera a little bit more downwards and put it on the highest FoV possible (this was on mid range FoV)

Women who serve in the military risk their lives every day fighting for our freedoms, now it’s time they enjoy the same freedoms in return.
Under current policy, if a woman in the military is raped and wants a safe and legal abortion, she must pay for it on her own dime - without insurance coverage. Government-sponsored health insurance covers abortion services for federal employees and Medicaid recipients when pregnancy results from rape, but military women are denied this same coverage.
It’s a discriminatory policy - and completely unfair to these brave women who give up a great deal to protect our rights. Now it’s time we protect their rights.
Senator Jeanne Shaheen introduced and successfully passed out of committee an amendment that has received broad bipartisan support, as well as support from military leaders in the Department of Defense. Her measure would provide coverage for abortion in cases of rape or incest. Now is the time to act! Contact your member of Congress and urge them to keep this critical protection for military women.

Brass goblins know no border.
I’ve taken a few days off away from gamedev, but have gotten the prototype to a point where gameplay can be seen.
SO visually it’s still super dodgy, but the overall idea was a space traversal platformer with the main learning experience being:
- 2D Sprite animations (modular/dynamic)
- AI State Machines
- Hookshot behaviour
I’d love to flesh out a level more with both visuals matching a cyberpunk/dystopian/junker world kind of theme and then improve functionality and tighten controls!
