Scouler’s Corydalis, Corydalis scouleri (Papaveraceae). These beautiful members of the poppy family are named in honor of Scottish botanist John Scouler (1804-1871). The genus name Corydalis comes from the Greek korudallis, meaning “crested lark”. These flowers do show a resemblance to the spurs on a lark! (Not to be confused with the genus Delphinium, AKA the larkspurs).

Siberian Miner’s-Lettuce, Claytonia sibirica (Montiaceae). Not as tasty as its perfoliate counterpart, but still edible. The name is Miner’s-Lettuce because early settlers and miners used it in salads. (Not related to garden lettuce, Lactuca sativa in the Asteraceae ).

I know it is not fair to have a favourite but this baby really stole my heart from the moment I saw it. It is an Aglaonema ‘Chocolate’ and I named her Rocca. I tried to list the species name of my plants but I cannot seem to find the exact name of this one. If you know please comment down below ^___^ I will truly appreciate it. Aglaonemas are so underrated. They are such easy care plants and their foliage are gorgeous! Most of the species’ popular name in the market is Chinese Evergreen. This one I got from @interiorplants.ca and Olga has always been so considerate and generous in giving basic plant care and tips. Thank you .

Sharing the details of the leaves of this beautiful Calathea pinstripe. Its underside is a deep red purple or maroon-ish. You could see through the white pinstripes on the surface of the leaves which are like thin, delicate brush strokes. ^___^ This plant loves humidity, medium to bright indirect light and I only water once a week.

I recently got a Monstera deliciosa plant from @plantcollective.co and I did not know that you could really fall in love with a plant but I did! LOL! I was so nervous about the delivery but in the end I got it and it survived. I have this thing of naming the things that have an attachment to me so I named this one Mona Lisa . This quarantine period has made me more of a plant mom and my green babies make me so happy! ^____^
