It’sProject for Awesome time! Project for Awesome, or P4A, is an annual fundraiser that raises money and awareness for all kinds of nonprofit organizations. We’re in the running for a grant of some of the money raised through P4A, and your vote can help us win.

Project for Awesome is an annual fundraiser run by the Vlog Brothers where people make videos supporting organizations they love and vote on their favorite videos. The organizations with the most votes get a significant grant to help them continue their programs!
Video submissions are open from now until 9 AM EST on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23. To submit, all you have to do is film a short (2-4 minute) video about why you love NaNoWriMo, upload it as a public video to your YouTube channel, and submit the URL here: https://www.projectforawesome.com/submit

The Language Conservancy does a lot of really interesting and amazing work for helping revitalize and raise awareness about Native American languages, and they’re worthy of your time and support, even outside the P4A. Check out their website, which has a ton of info about their activities.

One of our favorite authors and public figures, John Green has been doing some great work in the refugee camps of Jordan this week.
Not only has he written The Fault in our Stars, Paper Towns and Looking For Alaska (to name a few), he and his brother continuously work on projects to make the whole world a better place. From their daily vlogs (vlogbrothers), to Crash Course (their Youtube program exploring various educational topics), to VidCon to the charity works done by the Project for Awesome and by the ‘NerdFighter’ community - John Green is truly a great human being

I’ve been watching the Project for Awesome livestream for much of the day - they’ve currently raised over $600,000 on Indiegogo in the last 36 hours, and with various matching funds, they’ve raised a total of $1.89 million. We’re in the second half of the livestream, so all funds currently being raised will go to charities voted on by the P4A community (split between the top 20 or so vote-getters). Various community members have put together short videos advocating for their charities, and viewers get to vote on which charities they want to support (even if you can’t donate yourself).
My Project for Awesome video this year is about PeaceLove Studios, an organization that provides free expressive art classes to communities impacted by mental health disorders.
