That was not a good date
Was he nice? Yes
Was he talkative? Yes
Did he offer to pay and refuse me helping to pay? Yes
HOWEVER
Did we have chemistry? No…
Did I find him attractive? No…
Do I want to see him again? No…
I’m sure people will judge me for this and say, ‘you can’t have everything, he was a gentleman and nice to you but not good enough you’ll never be happy etc etc’.
Let me say this;
Just because a guy pays for you (which he doesn’t have to) and is pleasant to talk to and nice, does not mean you are entitled to see them again
yes, he was a nice person, yes, i’d see him again on a friendly basis
But I am not going to subject myself to dating someone and messing them around when I know full well I didn’t find them sexually attractive or feel as though we had any sparks or chemistry
Life is too short to be unhappy for the sake of others

Why not Me? Is a common question.
Many people ask themselves this whenever something positive happens with others around them.
It’s considered as an indication of self-doubt and maybe a little bit of jealousy. And those two are the worst emotions. Especially combined together.
So why do we react like this?
Surely we know that it’s not the nicest response. We would want our friends or colleagues…
I’ve been thinking a lot about naming this post. I would call it Butterfly syndrome, but it doesn’t quiet exist, so let’s just pretend this is something I made up.
It is a feeling of being stuck at one point of your life, as if you feel like you are not going anywhere.
I’m sure a lot of you have felt this before, but I decided to give it a name. I chose those name since butterflies go through…
I’ve been seeing a lot about these elusive beings called “Ambiverts” on the internet recently. “What the hell is an Ambivert?” you ask - well, Ambiverts are the alleged middle ground between Introverts and Extroverts. Ambiverts refuse to conform to the labels of “introvert” or “extrovert”, so they’ve created a rebellious third party. It’s the social equivalent of being Ambidextrous.
A common misconception about Myers Briggs and amateur psychology in general is that one must fit into all the stereotypes of one label. Much like sexualities, for every personality trait there is a spectrum. By Ambivert logic, we should all be ambiverts - because extroverts sure as hell don’t always feel like partying 24/7 and Introverts don’t always want to be in their houses reading books and snuggling kittens. Not everyone is 100% an Introvert or 100% an Extrovert.
Introversion and Extroversion have little to do with the activities you partake in, and a lot to do with how you gain your energy. For example, you’ll find many Introverts that are into the performing arts - an extremely social endeavor… But you’ll also find them in the break room after, cooling off. You may find an Extrovert in a similar situation, but instead of breaking they’ll go out and chat with the audience members until the gig ends. In this situation an “Ambivert” would be open to doing either of those things depending on their MOOD. You may find extroverts in the break room, and you may find Introverts blowing kisses into the crowd - it always goes both ways.
So in conclusion, Ambiverts are, for the most part a myth. This is not to say that one cannot identify as an Ambivert – but I think this concept of Ambiverts offends the notion that there in fact, is a spectrum of Introversion and Extroversion. However, If you score 50% extroversion and 50% Introversion, okay, congratulations! You’re one of the few, the proud… the ambiverts.
Hey loves, happy 2020 I’m excited to be back and talking about what I love the most… traveling. Chris and I started off the new year on an island. Normally, for my birthday trip I would want to go somewhere cold but this year I had a change of heart. I wanted to go somewhere new, relaxing and most of all I wanted us to be able to commute on our own comfortably.
This brings me to our destination…
Back to my 9-5 or whatever you want to call it….
It is Sunday and today is my last vacation day for this year. Sounds a bit dramatic since theirs only two months left in 2019 but let’s be honest I’m pretty dramatic.
I just got back from Europe a couple of days ago and I’m not so sure if I’m ready to be back at a 9-5. For some people structure is probably their thing but honestly for me I like a little adventure. I love the thought of waking up…
One word to summarize my trip to Portugal “underrated”…I haven’t been to Italy yet but I’ve seen pictures. Portugal to me was like a mini version of Italy, a place that you can travel to and not break your pocket. Overall, it was an amazing experience the people were really kind and tried their hardest to ensure that you were enjoying their country. There was so much to see and experience from…
If you follow me on Instagram, you are aware that I am a lover of skincare. I love trying out new products. I am that sucker who has multiple moisturizers, SPF and the list goes on. I wanted to give a break down on some of the products I’ve been loving as of lately.
Goldfaden MD “Bright Eyes”
Protecting the under-eye… this is such an important step, that I feel most people forget or don’t…
Hi there, I haven’t jumped on here in a while.
In the meantime, I’ve been receiving so many positive DM’s on my Instagram from people who are inspired by me. These last two months have been so stressful from balancing work, personal, and life goals. So the messages have been truly appreciated.
Some of you wanted to know, how do I stay focused on my goals. I didn’t know how to answer this question…
Chicagoooooo…literally the only thing I heard when people asked me where I planed on visiting for my birthday. I totally understood that Chicago is the Windy City and traveling there in Jan/Feb was a bit nuts. I had one goal though and it was to see snow! Also did I mention that this trip was extremely affordable…like $300 per person for flight/hotel affordable. I couldn’t pass up this deal. If…
I have one word to say about London “beautiful”. The people, the culture and the fashion was everything I needed and more.
How I book my trips?
So how did Chris and I end up in London for our last trip of the year? Well, I book my trips based on the best prices. I want to see everything the world has to offer. As I was browsing on www.expedia.comI saw that we could fly to London and get a hotel…
Why you shouldn’t break the bank to look good….
Fashion has been apart of my life since I can remember…my mom always made sure my sister and I were dressed nicely. She didn’t break her pockets either, she was always getting the deals. So, as I got older shopping for decently priced items just seemed normal. I knew how to make a $10 outfit look better than the name brand fits. If you don’t take anything away from this post please remember…
Thunderbird Falls, Matanuska glacier and downtown Anchorage:
Started off to an early start we had one full day to explore Anchorage before heading off to the cruise Monday morning. We had breakfast at City Diner which has a 50’s theme and the breakfast selection was really good! Once we finished eating we headed out to Thunderbird Falls.
On the ride to Thunderbird Falls we got pulled over by the…
“Diversity” - Bashir & Zoulfira from Ottawa
“You can be both and one doesn’t conflict the other. You can be a good citizen being both.” - Bashir Mustafa
“Diversity. Different cultures from different backgrounds coming together and living peacefully. Taking care of each other and being kind to each other.” - Zoulfira Miniakhmetova
“Alhumdulillah” - Farrah Khan from Toronto
“I feel that to be a Canadian Muslim you live in a fair and just society. I can practice my religion freely, Alhumdulillah”
“I can have both identities.” - Ahmed Alkoka from Mississauga
“I can have both identities. I can enjoy Canadian freedom, while still being able to practice Islam."
”…it’s not only about practicing our religion freely but helping to develop Canada by being productive citizens" - Asad & Mohammed from Toronto
“I think it’s pretty awesome. In Canada you have a lot of freedom. If you’re practicing Islam nobody says anything. Most people don’t judge you by your clothes, you have freedom of expression. You have more freedom of religion, of speech and of yourself.” -Asad Mehmood
“We have the ability to express our freedom of religion. So many people around the world don’t have that kind of privilege. For me personally, it’s not only about practicing our religion freely but helping to develop Canada by being productive citizens, volunteering, helping with other causes and just contributing to society as a whole.” - Mohammed Baig
“Being here made me explore what it was to be Muslim.” - Sahrish Tabrez & Mariyam Farooqi from Toronto
“It gave me more love towards my faith being Canadian-Muslim. I was 7-years-old when I came to Canada and I remember before I came everyone around me was Muslim, I was born Muslim, but nobody told me why or what it means to be a Muslim. But when I came here – as a Canadian Muslim – I realized I am more of myself here than I was, as a Muslim, back home. Being here made me explore what it was to be Muslim.” -Mariyam
“Freedom” - Saima Sheikh & Maariyah Patel from Toronto
“Freedom. In terms of wearing the hijab - we have no "ifs”, “whats” or “buts”, we are free to work wherever we want, practice and pray. We can go out wherever and however we want. We can pray at any time and no one says anything. Alhumdullilah, so far. And the freedom of education. We’re able to be Muslim – I know in many other countries around the world – you’re not able to get an education, women especially. That’s important. Alhumdulillah we’re in a country where a) you can be a woman and you’re empowered and b) you can be a Muslim woman and you’re empowered.“ - Saima Sheikh
