It’s been well-documented that racism surrounding the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy erupted in an overt social media boycott stemming from a few fringe members of the Star Wars fandom. Star Wars Episode VII was originally accused of being “anti-white” and promoting “white genocide” because John Boyega was a Black stormtrooper and other leading faces were not white…
It shouldn’t have taken a white person backing up his statements for film twitter to pay attention and listen to Ray Fisher, but I am so proud of Charisma Carpenter for speaking up about her experiences, and I hope both of them (and any other actor who’s suffered at that man’s hand, but maybe doesn’t have the resources or voice to publicly speak on it) continued healing, love, and support.

I am not going to lie, I am still not the most excited about Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but given all of the praise and positive reviews it seems to be getting recently, I would be very happy if this movie turned out to be good. I am watching it tomorrow night, so we shall see.
