#resist
To my fellow exhausted Americans:
I’ve got a friend who beat some strangers off due to witnessing them attempt to kidnap a different stranger. I’ve got friends who don’t have what it takes to fight with their fists so they go bolster the numbers at protests instead. I’ve got friends with physical impairments who call their reps on every issue instead of going to marches. I’ve got friends with social impairments who donate money to organizations that fight whatever issue arose this week instead of calling their reps. I’ve got friends who don’t have the spoons or money to do any of that and focus on educating themselves on all the small ways they can fix their language and actions to be as inclusive as possible, sometimes even editing the language of the policies at their places of employment to reflect what they learn. And I’ve got friends who are barely coping with everything and yet are still surviving despite the regime wearing away whatever energy they had left beyond what it takes for them to exist as their wonderful selves.
No matter where you’re at in your activism, you’re still important. What you are doing matters. There is no one single right way to do activism, and everybody’s limits just sort of help us diversify our overall activism portfolio.
democrats leech their votes from the most marginalized classes of society by dangling their basic needs in front of them and using fear based tactics to instill the idea that for poor people, racialized people, people persecuted for their gender or sexuality Dems are the only choice. and when Democrats have usurped the value of those votes, they stand back and allow the persecution of those same people for the sake of maintaining the status quo. if you don’t think that’s sinister in every definition of that term it’s because you’ve never had to face that danger and probably don’t have a place in this conversation
This is why Trump got elected and why Kavanaugh got confirmed and why Roe V Wade is gonna be overturned.
like????
and for like. the 3000000000th time. hilariously clinton won the popular vote. people voted for her. the voting isn’t the issue mayhaps.
“Vote for this one party or you die.” Sounds and looks like a healthy democracy full of free choice!
