This weekend at the SDCC DC/Vertigo panel, we unveiled the first concept art for my upcoming comic series HIGH LEVEL. These sketches show some of the process we’ve gone through developing the look of Thirteen, High Level’s protagonist. Artist Barnaby Bagenda has been bringing my vision of High Level’s world and characters to life in ways I never expected, and I’m teeming with excitement to show you more as the book evolves. To see more of this concept art and new previews in the future, follow the new official High Level Instagram account. I also posted more about the character development process on my Patreon.

High Level now has an official release of February 2019! If you have a local comic shop you frequent, please let them know you’re interested in this book - it helps a lot!

I’ll be at San Diego Comic Con this weekend, appearing at my first-ever SDCC panel Friday July 20th

I’ll be at San Diego Comic Con this weekend, appearing at my first-ever SDCC panel Friday July 20th at 6pm to discuss my upcoming original series HIGH LEVEL, coming to DC/Vertigo in Spring of 2019!

High Level is created/written by me with artwork by the incredible team of Barnaby BagendaandRomulo Fajardo, Jr. (whose work you should check out in the excellent OMEGA MEN series), and covers by Guillaume Ospital. Guillaume created the cover image you see above, and I designed the logo.

I don’t want to say too much about the plot yet because there are a lot of mysteries and twists and it’s going to go to some unexpected places. Here’s the official description, which doesn’t give too much away:

Hundreds of years after the end of the world, a new human society has rebuilt itself from scratch. The 1% of the population who control all of the wealth and power on Earth have long since hidden themselves away behind the walls of a mysterious silver city: High Level.

Our story begins far away from there, in an outland community where High Level is spoken of only in myths and rumor. There we’ll join a self-interested smuggler called Thirteen on a sprawling sci-fi adventure across a new continent of mystery and danger, as she’s tasked with delivering a child messiah to the fabled metropolis at the top of the world, from which no one has ever returned.

Many more details to come as we get closer to release!

I wanted to re-approach the original glitch skull image using my newer, more colorful, more VHS-centric analog glitch method. I happened to capture this incredible RGB tearing effect in one of the 1500 photos I took. Straight off the screen, no Photoshop!

A new analog glitch piece inspired by my love of vintage space travel.

Vintage tech and 1960s space-age sci-fi were huge inspirations for me in originally developing these analog glitch methods for How To Destroy Angels in 2013. I’ve always wanted to pay a proper homage to it in glitch form.

By the way, all prints in my store, including this one, are 25% off today (OR buy-3-get-1-free)

Horror Glitch finale. Just one last bit of Halloween before we move on to the holiday season. Thanks everyone, this has been a fun way to celebrate my favorite time of year, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Horror movies and the texture of VHS are intrinsically linked in my psyche - I feel like I’ve only just begun ways to explore that relationship, but for now it’s time to put glitch art to rest and move on to other aesthetics.

View the entire Horror Glitch series

If you’ve enjoyed the glitch series, please consider picking up a print - they look phenomenal in print and the support of my work keeps me going. On that note, my Halloween print sale yesterday was so popular that I’m extending it until midnight tonight for anyone who might have missed it - visitrobsheridan.storenvy.com for 20% off all prints!
