I didn’t sleep last night & I was coffee free. I finally drifted off around noon today and was back 4ish hours later for @QueerFit.
Today, Minal led us in a “Writing Your Chakras” session.

After a visual meditation in a restorative yoga pose, we wrote. And for additional tenderness, I opened a packet of love I’d set aside for hard times. I’ll share, so stop here if you’re not trynna read.

I remember roots, a vivid earthly orange.
Winding down
Water trickling through.
Keeping me fueled.
Safe.
I remember safety.
In chaos, in love, in pain, in the stability of family.
I remember safety in honeysuckles
And dirt roads and trails lined with trees
Taller than I could see.
Safety in horses.
And red brick.
And mortar.
Drywall, sheetrock, hammers.
I remember safety in rose gardens
And well water and 2x4s.
Safety in fireflies, playing laser tag between tree swings & tiki torches.
At dusk.
Big mosquitoes.
But space
And home
And land.
Grass clippings GA and azaleas.
I remember honoring me.
My bloodline.
Working backwards, gifting forward.
Stacking checks, keeping house, laundering her clothes.
I remember building.
Gaining.
Gaining envy over foundational necessities.
Because they deserved them too.
But were half a shade or more too dark.
Wondering how far my forward will go.
I remember names.
And bodies. And numbers.
And they keep me.
Light my candles and say my name aloud.

I remember what it is to feel safe, secure, seen, loved.
And how to move with freedom in a home guarded by ancestors.
