::Death - (Sandman):: . New portrait study in a long time! Sorry about the gap in updates here but the recent Spiel-fair and preparations for the upcoming ComicCon keep me busy. . In between that I only managed to lean back in the evenings to begin with reading the Sandman and so it was no surprise that „Death“ has become my favorite character so far, the impressionstic approach here wants to portrait her „upbeat“-personality through the colorful tints. . The Portrait is based on a reference but I can’t find the model at this point, will add the info later if I find it again. It differs except for the posture which inspired me to give this a go. . I think everyone has forgotten that the most important thing about the casting of Death in Netflix’s The Sandman is that she can successfully bounce a loaf of bread off of Tom Sturridge’s head.
They really were that size: paintings and assemblages that Dave would take to get photographed, and send the transparency to DC Comics to use as a cover.
Just to remind people of how things were done in the longago.
Part of me wonders how much these would be worth today, and what Dave (aged 24) and I (aged 27) would have thought about that if we’d known.
the sandman tv show will either usher in a renaissance for the tiny sandman fandom or it will create the most insufferable fandom known to man. there will not be a middle ground.
Legends of Tomorrow AU, where they manage to unknowingly stumble through a soft place into the Dreaming.
They never do figure out exactly where they are. It’s a weird and somewhat scary place, there’s probably a dragon and a floating Beebo being eerie and scary things aplenty.
And then there’s a guy. Young man, jeans, t-shirt, quite friendly, offers to show them the way out. This is the Legends - he ends up accidentally recruited, fits in perfectly fine.
Even if he somehow never takes off his sunglasses.
